Our experience with Michael at Best Paw Forward was great. My 11 year old Chocolate was leash aggressive and now that i was trained on what to do he was able to take a walk 3 miles with us the other day as well as attend a class at the park! I am beyond thrilled to see how he has changed. My puppy rescue is learning basic commands at a rapid rate and most important I am learning ways to handle my dogs differently so I am prepared for each situation without fear. We were seeking guidance in training our 4 year old corgi and were feeling very frustrated before getting in contact with Best Paw Forward. We had done puppy classes, adolescent classes and even expensive individual training with other trainers and programs and NONE even come close to the amount of guidance and help we received. My only regret with this training program is that we didn't find them sooner! The trainers seek out your goals for you and your dog, work with you to understand the behaviors your seeing, and help to manage expectations. After a few months of training including the board and train, group classes, and following along to the videos posted regularly we have seen such an improvement in our corgi.I cannot recommend Best Paw Forward enough. They care about the quality of the service you experience, your pet, and your overall understanding of the training process. I had my puppy stay with Best Paw Forward for 3 weeks for the Board and Train program. It was so hard to leave her and I was worried what her behavior would be like when she came home. Since returning home, she is a completely different dog. She is calm, responds to commands, and is such a joy to be around. I called Best Paw Forward because my Rottweiler pup, Cali, was extremely anxious around people. Michael was extremely understanding and supportive in the phone consultation. We scheduled our in-home training and he arrived happy and calm. At the first meeting, he took time to show Cali how to be calm and trusting and showed me how to foster that behavior in her. He gave guidance in subtle ways and both Cali and I learned how to work together to maintain happiness and peace. His training is solely based on positive reinforcement and a genuine love of animals. Michael's main goal is to help me understand how to help Cali become a well-behaved, well-mannered pup. The real test was last weekend when several people visited our home. With Michael's help, I learned to be calm snd supportive to Cali and she greeted guests calmly and was so well-behaved, we could barely believe it. I showed Michael pictures of calm Cali and he was also impressed. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this experience is. Michael shares his vast knowledge and his patience and is focused on your goals with your pup without the use of meducation, training collars or dominance. He teaches you how to be a team with your dog and have a wonderful future. I highly recommend Best Paw Forward. Jaimi, Michael's wife, is an integral part of their team. I've worked with one of their trainers for over a year now. I must say, I'm incredibly impressed with their experience level and passion for the puppers. Even after I moved away, they continue to work with me through distance classes. I must say, of all characteristics that I appreciate, their honesty is what I appreciate most. They never hesitated to tell me when my expectations were unrealistic. I could understand how that could be seen as crass, but they have ALWAYS been respectful. I've know Jamie and Michael for years. They're outstanding human beings and dog trainers. They have helped my wife and I personally with our rescue who had abandonment issues and would rip our house apart. She also would run away if off leash. With Best Paw Forward's help she no longer destroys the house while we are at work and she can be let off leash in our yard. We had to change ourselves during the process just as our new dog did. There's a lot of work and change you as a dog owner have to put in especially with rescue dogs. I read the only one star review and it's absurd to think that anyone at Best Paw Forward was rude in a consultation. I'd imagine that this individual was looking for someplace to drop their dog off and have them magically behave upon pickup. That's not how any of this works and I'd assume they didn't like that answer.Best Paw Forward is an amazing organization and will most certainly help you and your pup to the utmost of their ability. I am so thankful that I found Best Paw Forward! I had adopted a 3 yr old St. Bernard who was not known for being good with kids or other dogs. Once I met her, I fell in love with her and truly felt I could get her past her issues. After all, I have had dogs in my life for the past thirty years and have always been able to bring them around.... Well, after how anxious I saw she was with my grandson and two encounters with other dogs, I realized I was out of my league and felt defeated. Then I met Michael Badial. He taught me a couple valuable lessons. 1. The dogs we have raised and trained in the past are just that -in the past. Most dogs today are rescues and have been through a lot and require a different way of doing things than what we’ve done in the past. 2. Patience is key. They didn’t get their behavior overnight and you’re not going to change it overnight either. It’s been 10 months since we brought Missy home. And it’s been 6 months since I first met Michael. My grandson was just here for the entire weekend. As I reflect on where we came from to where we are now, I can’t thank Michael enough for the gift of a happy home again! Missy and my grandson get along so well now. He can give her treats, he can walk around the house without having to keep them separated by a baby gate and she even gave him a kiss this weekend! Working with Best Paw Forward is of the best training programs we have experienced. We have had multiple dogs and been through many different training programs and nothing compares to Best Paw Forward. Jamie and Michael are both very patient, flexible and knowledgeable. I most like that our training is often in real life situations like going on walks, meeting a group of new dogs and at home. They listen to my concerns and offer up new training situations and activities to help train me on how to work with my dogs. I went from being so afraid to take my two dogs on a walk individually, to walking them both together at a public park. Best Paw Forward Training has been amazing. We did a puppy training (2weeks boarding) with Lauren and extremely satisfied with what she did for our new puppy, Angel. She taught us many things about what to do with our new puppy too. Our dog was 10 weeks old puppy. We asked her to set a ground rule for our puppy because of the puppy’s age, for example a potty training, crate training, puppy biting and general well behaving manners. Lauren was professional and very patient. She communicated each step and often with us during those two weeks and was very flexible to find the best solution for our Angel. Lauren came for a 4 week session and it was really great! Highly recommend Best Paw Forward. We used them for training both our Border Collies, and most recently for a reactive dog group training for our almost 2 year old Border Collie. Their support group is amazing. It's not a train and done srvice....you are part of their client family. We have had other trainers/companies in the past for other dogs, but Michael at Best Paw Forward is so skilled at explaining behaviors that it makes training easier. We had our chocolate lab puppy for almost a month, sleep was limited, puppy bites literally had blood flowing. I contacted Best Paw Forward and they set me up for an appt right away the following day. I was able to work out a schedule that was convienent. I was hoping for magic after our first session, but it only took two! Michael really drills in the importance of the owners keeping up with training as homework and honestly that’s probably why we didn’t see results right away (we were new puppy owners and tired). But we quickly learned it’s not just about the trainer training the dog so much as he’s training you to train the dog! We now love coming home to our puppy. One of the best decisions we made this year was to hire Best Paw Forward to help train our chocolate lab puppy. We bought Samwell to help fill a recent painful void and to add some much needed joy into our lives. Before our lessons started, we were having substantial setbacks trying to teach Sam to behave. We were also getting bad advice from random dog owners. As soon as our sessions with Michael started, we began to see immediate improvements. Michael was patient with us and Sam and even adjusted his lessons directly to our living environment. We also have an 11 year old black lab so Michael added lessons about their interactions to our sessions. Today, Sam no longer bloodies my hands. He listens when he is given a command. We had THE BEST experience with Michael Badial from Best Paw Forward! We struggled with walking our dog on a leash (she was walking us) and with our dog's anxiety. He worked on exercises that built her confidence and we saw such a difference! He was so calm & relaxed and our dog (Siri) loved him! I’ve only been using Best Paw Forward for a month but I am beyond impressed!! Michael has helped me tremendously with my new yellow lab as well as my other older dogs. I wouldn’t be able to do the training on my own. Very happy with their style as well as ability to answer my questions in between sessions. I reached out to Best Paw Forward with hopes of “fixing” our 3 year old German Shepherd. We were at a loss with her behavior and didn’t know what else to do. We completed a full training course at another facility, but it didn’t seem to help with certain issues. At this point frustrated was an understatement...After receiving an email back from Best Paw Forward, we set up a time for a phone conversation and I was extremely impressed! Michael took the time to ask questions and listen to all the issues we were having with Cali before recommending a training program that would best fit our needs. I sent multiple emails with questions and concerns and they were quick to respond and very straightforward. They stood out from all the rest! We have been working with Michael for five weeks and honestly couldn’t be more pleased with Cali’s success. Would recommend without hesitation. What a difference Lauren made in two weeks with our girl Tilly! Tilly is sweet 1 year old rescue girl that came to us recently without manners. She mouthed and jumped, barked and growled aggressively( stranger danger bark) and didn't know any commands. Oh my goodness, Best Paw Forward is amazing! We just finished up our training with Michael and our dog, Henry, has learned so much. Michael is so patient with both dogs and owners. We had a wonderful training experience with Michael, co-owner of Best Paw Forward. He has an amazing way with dogs and was able to begin demonstrating successful training techniques literally within seconds of entering our house the first time. Our golden retriever puppy, Lola, had been a handful. She is so bouncy and energetic, we were having trouble containing her enthusiasm, especially when company came over. We were experienced dog owners and have had goldens before, but Lola was more alpha than the others, and the casual training we had done before just wasn't cutting it.Over the course of six lessons, in our case spread over about 2 months, Michael taught my wife and I immediately useable techniques to train Lola. (Well, really, he was training *us* to be successful owners.) His gentle, consistent approach is something I now try my best to emulate when working with Lola. With our formal training now finished, I feel I can apply what I learned to new situations and needs, and I feel much more comfortable training our sweet pup. She responds beautifully to proper training and is becoming the loving, adorable, *well-behaved* pet we always knew she could be.Michael and his team were always prompt, professional, and engaging. When we had an appointment at, say, 7:30, Michael pulled into the driveway at 7:29 and was ready to go. I recently got a Great Dane puppy. I'm older and I began to realize rather quickly that I may be in trouble due to his size and exuberance. We called many trainers that my vet and neighbors recommended, but either they didn't call back or they weren't very helpful on the phone. I found Mike and Best Paw Forward on the internet and I am so happy I did. My puppy became a changed dog after Mike's first visit to my home. I've had dogs all my life and have been to obedience school more than once so I'm waiting for the choke collar and the boring exercises that were taught and then Mike walked in. He is truly a dog whisperer. My dog loved him immediately and so did we. He taught me so much in a very gentle way and a fun way. The dog responded to him and learned so quickly. I would recommend Best Paw Forward very highly to anyone. I can't say enough about how wonderful and gentle Mike was and how quickly my dog responded to him. This was a wonderful experience and as Truman gets older I am planning to do more training with Mike and the company. We're so happy with the love and care that Michael and Jamie (and Michael) gave to our two boxers. We were looking for training in a home environment and Best Paw Forward fit the bill. When Sugar Ray and Jab came home after their in-house training, Michael spent time with us teaching us the best way to get our babies to understand and correctly respond to our needs. We had a wonderful experience with Best Paw Forward and would highly recommend Jamie and Michael! We adopted our 1 year old dog Ted over the summer from a local animal shelter. Despite his sweet personality, he had trouble containing his energy and listening when distracted by other sights and sounds. Ted’s foster family encouraged us to get him into training after we adopted him since he showed a great deal of potential to learn. Although we were initially a little unsure of what to expect from behavioral training, we were pleased with Best Paw Forward from the minute Jamie and Michael came to our house for Ted’s first session. We could immediately see how passionate they are about their work and we saw noticeable progress in Ted’s listening and responsiveness to commands before the first session ended. As Michael continued to come to our home to work with Ted, we were amazed at how quickly Ted would respond to commands. We appreciated how Michael explained his teaching methods to us along the way and really helped us to understand the best ways to work with Ted. The training sessions were enjoyable for both us and our dog—the fun and rewarding dynamic that Michael created made it seem like more of a playdate. My wife and I have been using Best Paw Forward's services since July of 2015, when we realized our 8 month old puppy Bodie was having issues with fear based aggression when encountering strangers and visitors to our house. Michael and Jamie were able to quickly gain Bodie's trust and we went to work on his stranger aggression using positive techniques. We initially took 4 in home lessons. Michael and Jamie ended up coming 2 extra times for no additional charge when his issue was more difficult than initially expected. We also used them a few months later for a board and train session when we went out of town for 2 weeks. He came back a lot more responsive to us and that enabled us to further work on his issues. Working with Michael and Jamie's methods have both trained Bodie to have more confidence and has also educated us on how to best work with our dog so that he can not be so fearful outside of the house as well as being more under control inside the house. One of the things we appreciate the most is that after the lessons and the training, they continue to provide support via email and phone, as well as having occasional dog walks in local parks with past & current clients (and anybody else who wants to join). This has been critical in helping Bodie overcome his issues as well as making him a great dog to live with.
