Best place to spend winter and get a Christmas tree

We went here on a very snowy day to enjoy some breakfast and winter time fun. We didn't sled or anything, but had a lovely time as a family getting breakfast and wandering around, enjoying the outdoor fire, and playing a little on the frozen lake.
My family of 3 stayed in one of the cabins and it was peaceful and amazing. The snow tubing was absolutely AWESOME!! We had so much fun! The staff throughout the entire resort were friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to come back again. More...
Wonderful get away spot for the family. Secluded spot in a beautiful valley with a variety of activities available. Especially enjoyed the tubing!
Fun place to go tubing. A lot of different courses for different levels.

Great food and superb kitchen head chef!

Beautiful views from the patio. Quaint, clean, and cozy rooms. Nice people. Nice little restaurant. However we stood to wait for a table for several minutes. Server acknowledged us but left us standing while he went into The kitchen and had a lengthy convo with the cook. We waited between 5 and 10 minutes and he never came Back out to seat us so we left And went Down the road More...

Very secluded and a great chance to get away.
Double J site is awesome and secluded. Beautiful area. Outhouses could be better.
awesome place. very peaceful
This is a great place to camp. Facilities are nice so are the campgrounds.
This place is absolutely amazing. My girlfriend went horseback riding there last year and she says it was super super fun. We just went recently and the view and drive was fire. The only bad thing is the gift shop here really doesn't have anything worth spending money on. 5 star place overall though. More...
Beautiful area! We camped with our trailer and really enjoyed our time there. The roads are a little rough and narrow in places but we had no trouble. Our site was listed as pull through but we backed in as I doubt we could have made the turns required to pull though with our 28 foot trailer. More...

Spent a night camping at Beaver Meadows. It was super quiet, scenic, loved the big fire pit and picnic table.
I camped here over a weekend. The ranch is beautiful, peaceful, and there is so much to explore. Our campsite was large enough for two tents, a canopy, and had plenty of room to spare. There was a nice campfire ring, a picnic table and two long wooden benches. There is a restaurant on site and showers are available for $5 each. Lots of trails, paddle boats, horseback riding, fishing, SUP, and more. More...

The area was beautiful and the camp sites were clean. The camp host was very friendly and very approachable. There were tons of places to walk, hike and bike and just take in the wild life. We will absolutely go back.
This was the 2nd time we have stayed at Beaver Resort and have been pleased both times with area and the service. The 1st time we stayed in the Crows Nest, a small cabin with no electricity or running water and it was perfect. We had a great time! Awesome family outing!
Beautiful ranch with awesome cabins & cottages.
Fantastic place close to Fort Collins! Great tubing and great staff
Awesome stay! Not sure of the "bad beds" reported by the other guest as my adult kids stayed in one of the cottages and we stayed at the family cabin and it was nothing but comfortable. (And the mattresses hadn't been replaced yet). Downtown hotel suite comfy? Nope, but that is definitely not what we came up for. The cottage (Beaver 2) was absolutely adorable and closer to the resort itself. The family cabin makes you feel you are in your own house away from all the activity, but just a quick drive to get back to it. Can't say enough good things about all the employees either. We WILL be back! More...

Me and my family had a great time
Had dinner here after a snow storm. The food and service was great. Can't wait to visit again.
I wanted to take a second and say thank you to the staff. My son chose to have his 17th birthday with his friends tubing and even though the wind was crazy bad, snow blowing, and very cold they couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had. From the guy giving the safety talk to the lift operators advice on which run to take the staff was upbeat and friendly. Thanks Beaver Meadows!!! More...

My family and I have been going up to Beaver Meadows for years and I swear it just keeps getting better and better. They are constantly updating and adding to the many activities available up there. The staff is always so amazing and the service is the best I have received from any 5 star resort in Colorado. Their tubing hill in the winter beats anyplace in Colorado and they have ice skating right there, we don't have to drive to different spot to enjoy it all! After that we went to the pavilion and had the best pizza and hot chocolate. Definitely recommend this place, and I know we will keep going and bringing our friends for years! More...
Fun day trip from Fort Collins. Beautiful views on the drive up and back. 2 hrs was a perfect amount of time for tubing. The pizza and sandwiches at the sit-down restaurant were delicious. We didn't order from the walk-up restaurant, so I can't offer an opinion on that. The atmosphere of the restaurant and tubing hills is very laid back. Don't expect Breckenridge. But, expect fun and casual. All the workers were super friendly. They sometimes have 12 runs, but due to snow conditions, we had about 7 runs to use. It was a ton of fun, and we look forward to going back to try the other runs. Make sure your hats are on tight for Thunder. That was, by far, the funnest run. There are easy runs and difficult ones. Thunder was bumpy, fast, and quick turns. Keep your mouth closed, so you don't bite your tongue. It's hard not to scream, though, because it's so exhilarating.||The staff is really good at telling you which runs are fast/bumpy, and they tell you which tubes are faster.||We had 13 yr-olds who loved it as much as we parents. I have lived in Colorado for almost 3 years and would say with 100% certainty that Beaver meadows was the perfect pick for my family. We had such an amazing time, everything from the variety of hills, the staff, the laughs and smiles we got from both children, the short drive back and forth to Foco. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. I would highly recommend this place to any family that is looking for an afternoon or morning activity that will put a smile on everyone's face before you leave here I would go back without a second thought! Fun snow tubing!
What a cool place for adults and kids to go hang out in the mountains in the cold snowy hills and write a tube down the slopes. there's a lots there and there are I think six runs that you can actually go down a varying degrees of intensity. to make it even more fun you don't have to haul your own tube to the top they actually have a rope pull to hook you up to and actually pull you in the tube up the top so it's actually a lot of fun because you don't have to constantly walk to the top.if you love writing tubes on hills or sliding type activities you will absolutely love this place it is in a beautiful setting and it's well-managed and well taken care of. Amazing place, great people!
So much fun on the tubing hill without family ages 2-50!!!
Had a great time here snow tubing. They have a good system in place to get you up the slopes quick so you can get all the runs in you want. From "simple straight fast" trails to "major air jump" trails. The guys running the show here are chill enough so you don't feel "mothered" but at the same time you aren't worried about peeps acting stupid and ruining your fun experience. Check em out - you'll have a great time. Just be a little cautious and expect to take a fall or two on the icey walking areas along the base....this shouldn't be a huge surprise though - it is ICE after all. More...
Very fun family day. We went sledding, then ice skating and even stayed for dinner. It was the perfect day outing for my family. And the pricess were great.
Staff was kind but service a little slow.
Best tubing around!
Mostly pleasant staff, fun times. Windy yet well prepared made for a good afternoon
The pork green chili was delicious! Just the right amount of heat to make it a wonderful meal.
Its was fun, although it isn't the most noticeable place to the public. I recommend riding down the lightning slope, the dead man slop, and the beaver one. This is a really fun place to take a group, or even just family. I think there should be more staff though, and maybe consider making some new slopes giving your customers a more enjoyable experience. I think it would be more beneficial and more drawing for your audience to expand the evening hours and installing outside lights. I also think that both the snack bar in the lodge and the restaurant should be more affordable(but the pizza was very good). I also think an expansion on the lodge would give the parents who have to sit there for hours a more comfortable experience. There should also be more restroom locations, but other than that, this is a great place to take a get away into the mountains. I really enjoyed my experience here, and I wish the rest of the goers an amazing trip! More...

We booked an overnight stay at this property, stayed in a rustic cabin, called The Crows Nest. ||||About the cabin, it was simple, had a wood burning stove, a nice bed and futon. There was no WiFi, electricity, or running water which is exactly what we wanted. Now, we did get some cell service, but it was intermittent at best. Overall it was very comfortable, but got super warm with the stove burning and cooled down very quickly once the fire went out. Probably a very comfortable stay in the summer time, but we experienced an early winter storm with a fair amount of snow. We were able to cook meals on the stove in a cast iron skillet and made coffee in a perculator, but be patient, it takes a while to get the right amount of heat to cook and boil. ||||What made this spot more ideal is that you are fairly secluded. Though the main resort and restruant is about a quarter mile hike away, you feel pretty isolated. Be mindful, there is only an outhouse to use around back of the cabin, but the main restaurant and resort has modern facilities. ||||The only thing we didn't like was the fact there were no curtains on the windows, which left you feeling wide open at night. However nothing a few towels tacked into the wood couldn't fix. ||||We should have stayed two nights... More...

I love the service, the people and variety of styles for campsites. The convenience of phone signal eliminates the need to worry of contact in case of emergency. Beautiful scenery and maintenance ensures future visits. Other campers make peaceful visits irritating for the lack of concern for environment I.E. Great place to visit. Take a day trip for lunch (great food), rent over night rooms, camping sites available, great for kids all year round. Horseback riding available yet round. Snow tubing & ice skating in the winter. Lots of wilderness & trails for hiking!! More...
Lovely place for camping. The staff are so kind and helpful! We needed to fix a tube in our camper and the maintenance guy, Bill came with a wrench for us to borrow, within minutes! Beautiful location.
Great spot for snow tubing! The family loves it
Great place for some (part-time) mountain livin'!
Great family get away!

We stayed in a tent site. It was reasonably priced and we had plenty of room and privacy. They have a ton of activities availble but we did not participate. It was beautiful ams right next to a small waterfall. More...
Amazing hospitality, and it is a beautiful location!
Its was great, fair priced, rooms were real nice good food and amazing scenery kind of secluded but not hard to get to.

Sledding and Ice Skating at Beaver Meadows is an Annual Tradition for our family. Some years we combine it with the adventure of chopping down our own Christmas Tree. We love it here.

Scuba made the absolute best pizza tonight, welcome back!
Had an awesome time tubing today! The runs were great, the staff was awesome, and the restaurant top notch!
This is our favorite place in all of Colorado to go to for a mini weekend vacation. Between hiking, campfires, smores, fishing, snow tubing, live music, cute affordable condos and cabins, the staff, and the raw natural beauty of the valley - you simply can't find anything better. We are here every other weekend all year long. Come experience it for yourself - so much fun to be had. More...
Had a great time with my 80 year old parents and girl friend on the tubing hill. Great safe fun for the entire family! Thanks guys!
Beaver meadows a fun little family resort that’s close to where we live in Loveland. There is a variety of things to do however the tubing runs are the biggest draw in our opinion. They have a nice little restaurant on premise and condos available for rental overnight, although we haven’t stayed overnight there before. More...
My kids had a great time!! They can’t wait to do it again!! The owner/guide was very patient and friendly!!
Beaver Meadows is a piece of heaven on Earth. Family friendly, clean accommodations, good food at the lodge, lots of great activities year round. Highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from it all. Camping and cabins next to the river or ponds, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, snow tubing, cross country skiing, great trails for snow shoeing, and just relaxing. It's all available here at Beaver Meadows. Been coming here since 1993. More...
Unfortunately, like the rest of the state, they were in disparate need of snow. However, the staff did a great job trucking in snow and constantly shoveling snow around so that they can keep the runs open. Also, this is not just a hill, these runs have jumps, turns, banks, and even a half pipe. The staff is at the top to help you out and even give you a push. This place is a great, hidden gem. More...
Beautiful location. The campsites are spread out perfectly and not right on top of each other. The entire property is beautiful and well kept. My kids loved the fact that there are horses everywhere. We had a great family experience with lasting memories and will be back again. More...
This is the place we got married and our home away from home. Some of my all time favorite memories are at Beaver Meadows. ..from marrying my husband to hiking, snow tubing, and ice skating with our 3 sons. Beaver Meadows never fails to put me in my happy place More...

I must give a hand to all of the people working on that mountain doing their best to keep snow in the runs for the many people wanting to tube.
If only the weather would cooperate! My group had a great time all afternoon. Hope you got snow after we left - a few flakes were starting to fall.
We didn't ice-skate, but the ice looked pretty good for those that were out there on it. More...
We so enjoyed our stay. Very beautiful and green. Had deer visit during our visit. Fishing was a little disappointing... . We didn't have the right flies and lures. Lots of lawn games ..... all made out of wood. Wonderful experience. Will be planning our next trip soon. More...
Our family had a wonderful time tubbing and the staff at the restaurant were terrific at accommodating such a large group. The food was great as well. A much needed family get a way and your staff, from the lodge, lifts and restraraunt were EXCELLENT!! Thank you! More...

Wonderful location and staff. Just 2 small easy improvements suggested. Garbage and construction materials left behind around Crows Nest and the restaurant needs a waiter that can either read what he wrote on the orders or remember but super nice person otherwise. We will be back!
The staff was amazing! Everyone was super nice! Very helpful when we paid and the two guys running the lift were great! We were there most of the day and they never got a break and were still very nice and had a smile on their face! And the guy shoveling the snow trying to keep the jumps in tact was great as well! Thank you! Our boys had a blast! More...
Such a beautiful location, but also they have incredible people working there. They care so much that you have an incredible experience taking in all that they have to offer! It's one thing to be in a beautiful area, it's another to be in a beautiful area with staff committed to help you have a incredible time. Thank you!!! More...
The campaites are so beautiful and very laid back!!!
Best snow tubing I’ve encountered in Colorado. Best runs for sure!!! Not just a straight shot down a hill, much more going air-born off slopes. Kids loved it and the people were great there too. More...

Clean cabin, fresh linens, wrap around deck, tables and chairs, bbq grill and seating area around fire pit. Very nice staff, beautiful community grounds, nicely manicured and maintained. We were able to let our dogs off leash to play with the pack of resident dogs. We enjoyed eating on the restaurant patio each night (it's dog friendly) and taking a pizza back to the cabin with us. We were warned about a bear problem in their area and nearby towns but we never saw one ourselves. We did the 2 hr horse ride with river crossing on our last day. Glad we did. The kids had the time of their life! Overall 10 out of 10. We will be back again! More...
I live in Fort Collins and decided to come here for a first date with beautiful natural scenes. Long story short, the staff gave myself and my date special and over the top care with ice skating on a pond an an awesome dinner even though the resort was supposed to be closed for half of the date (but they stayed open). These are the kindest people and the ranch is fantastic as a whole for a day trip. More...
My now husband and I got hitched at Beaver Meadows last weekend and it was everything we hoped for! We stayed at the JP cabin and filled the rest of the lodging with our guests. Our rehearsal dinner was at Buddy's Cave which is an awesome little partially enclosed amphitheater with a bonfire pit next to it. There was power outlets so we brought our own music and it was a blast! It was a beautiful time of year as the leaves were just starting to change and the weather was great- a 10 minute rain delay before the ceremony at five but then the sun came out and made the outdoor wedding site even more stunning. Our wedding was casual themed with open seating and burgers and brats for dinner at the Big Bear Pavilion- the staff made delicious food and the bar service was great. We set up a photo booth in the Little Log Shelter next to the Pavilion and had a 20x20ft tent set up as well in case of weather. After the wedding dance party, the remainder of the guests moved out to the big bonfire pit outside of the restaurant. The general manager Linda was so helpful and made sure everything was perfect- she directed the wedding rehearsal and was a delight to work with. I highly recommend this wedding venue, the entire experience was more than I had dreamed of. More...
I grew up in Colorado and remember visiting Beaver Meadows as a child (when you had to walk your inner-tube up the hill), so it was heart-warming to be able to spend Christmas there this year as an adult with my family. Even though the resort has grown, it has kept its roots. We stayed in one of the condos which was a lot larger than we expected. It was cozy and comfortable with a great mountain vibe. The staff even put a "Charlie Brown Christmas tree" in each condo for the guests to decorate!||||The resort itself was decorated with Christmas lights, which made night-time ice-skating lovely. Tubing was a blast of course, and the staff was great - especially the guys working the tubing runs! ||||This isn't a fancy resort, so snobbery is not needed or deserved. This is a family- owned business that caters to family fun in the mountains - and they do a nice job at it!||||We will be back next Christmas for sure! More...
Great tubing place. They have a lift with multiple runs. A fantastic day trip. A little too intense for our three year old but she stayed in the lodge with the grandparents while we tubed all day. The Beaver Meadows employees are fantastic as well. Always willing to help and give you good tips for various runs. The lodge had great food for a good price as well. More...
Excellent horse friendly campgrounds. The horse camping sites are spacious. Corrals are large and well suited for extended stays. River runs right along for easy water for horses. Staff is very good. Lots of distance between campsites. No hookups, though, and no RV dumps stations for about a 50 mile radius of Red Feather Lakes. Resort restaurant is excellent. More...
We spent 3 days and two nights at the resort attending a wilderness medicine class. We used Google Earth to get familiar with the area prior to driving there but the property was so much better than we expected. We stayed in unit 11 of the lodge building, set above the main buildings with a beautiful panoramic view of the valley, consisting of meadows, fish ponds, mountains, and the river. It is a lower end unit with a comfortable bed, two futons as well as tables, chairs etc. It would sleep 6 adults easily. There is also a small fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom is large but the shower is a small neo-angle type. Tight for at 6'1 and 200 lbs. There is also a stocked bookshelf if you choose to read. I enjoyed waking up with the sun and searching the valley with binoculars. Lots of wildlife! We even snacked on wild strawberries and raspberries along the river. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there. More...
This place is amazing. The moment you pull around the corner and see it your blown away. It's nestled in this little valley - lush and green with a river running through it. ||||Three years ago we found this hidden gem while camping. Two years ago we were married there (epic). We go back at least once a month. It's stunning - from their fishing ponds, hiking, horseback riding, food, drinks, cabins, etc - everything is incredible. The staff is great - after a couple visits they are more like family than staff. We spend the summers enjoying the trails and staying in the rustic cabins. In the winter we go tubing, ice skating, drink hot chocolate around the bonfire, and enjoy the winter wonderland. If I could live there I would - it's the most perfect place in all of northern Colorado to enjoy nature with friends and family. More...
The staff were accommodating and helpful. The tube runs were perfect, lots of choices. Lunch at the restaurant was fine. The wind really blows across the Meadow at the bottom of the run, be prepared to cover all skin. There aren't bathrooms or water in the warming shed, but across the meadow. |The last 6 miles were dirt road with a steep drop at the end. We don't have 4 wheel drive and got stuck on the packed snow, but they had a snowplow come help clear the road. More...

But we liked it! We mainly chose just for the kids to enjoy the snow tubing. We stayed at a lodge room and got a winter package that included two meals and drinks and two park tickets at a discounted rate. But I feel no one really knows what this package is and cannot explain it properly. The restaurant staff looks unhappy when you mention you have the package and still find something to over charge you with. So although we paid for the package, it felt like the attitude was as if we were getting everything for free. We were later told at the reception that it's their first time running this package so hence the misunderstanding. Hopefully, it'd be all figured out by our next visit ))The lodge rooms are actually very cozy, nothing fancy or new, but overall not bad. One queen bed and a pull out couch with a futon. The room has a little fridge and a microwave oven, fireplace and wood for it. The room and the bathroom each has its own thermostat to control the temperature in the room, and it works really well! What's really missing is hot tubs )PS Before we checked out, we were able to have a look at condos, and they were both really nice! If you have a bigger family, it's definitely a good option. We looked at one with a living room with kind of built-in bunk beds in a visually separated corner and full kitchen and a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The other room had two bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Each one had its own entrance with something what looked like a storage room next to entrance. More...

Food is sometimes really good here, but my last meal was just ok - I know it's hard for them to keep good staff being so remote so I tend to forgive that easily but just be aware - excellent food is not the reason to come here. They DO have lots of Gluten Free offerings and the occasional live music, again in a place so remote, is awesome. I'd like to see more live music from the locals and more cheese on my GF grilled cheese sandwich (the GF bun overwhelms the standard cheese amount...just sayin'). More...
