Sometimes it can be risky trying a local restaurant but in this case it was well worth it. It was late afternoon on a Sunday so it wasn't very busy. I am told it can get pretty busy during peak meal hours because they only have one cook. The server was awesome from the time we arrived until.we left. She was very polite and attentive which added to the experience. The food was spectacular. The menu is pretty much the types of dishes you would expect from a German restaurant, with a few extras thrown in. The difference is that they have their own particular twist to the recipes and use no pre-prepared foods. Everything is cooked to order. The food was actually good. The service was very slow, but they comped my alcohol. I enjoyed the quaint decor. It truly feels like a small German Alpine cabin. I had the Jager Schnitzel and the portion was ample. The German red cabbage is very good and the potato salad is to die for. The prices seem a little high but they have cornered the market on Bavarian Dinning in Asheville. All in all I recommend trying this place out for yourself. More...
