I absolutely love their Tom Gha Kai soup. It warms my soul during the cold months. The flavor is amazing! But that loud argument I just witnessed between a server and owner or manager was terrible. I will always love this place but good lord that was annoying. More...

Great food for a great price. Super attentive staff, and not in the overbearing, annoying way either. Just an amazing experience overall. Waitress noticed my friend hadn't eaten part of his food. After determining that it was made correctly and nothing was wrong with it, he had never tried it and didn't like the flavor, she still removed it from his bill. More...

I visited this restaurant as it was close and within walking distance to my hotel. I arrived around 6.30pm so it was starting to get busy. My waitress was Shelley and I have to say she was fabulous, as I was in Charleston on holiday the beers on the menu were none I knew so after a brief discussion I was recommended one and the flavour was just great. My food order was Fried Wontons and Pad Thai ( this was absolutely overflowing with chicken, king prawns, ). The total bill for two alcoholic beverages and the food came to $37.00. I would recommend this place. More...

Everything was top notch - food, drinks, music, atmosphere, service.. Awesome happy hour specials on drinks and appetizers. The Basil entree was outstanding - just the right level of spiciness, hit the spot. Previously somewhere else I'd had a bad experience with Tom Kha gai soup, luckily I gave it another chance here because it was terrific! Definitely check this place out for some quality, delicious Thai cuisine. More...

Delicious food, polite and quick service. I had the pad thai, Thai spicy and it had a nice kick to it. Portion size was right where it needed to be. The atmosphere the restaurant is nice and classy. Pricing is a little steep but the overall experience justifies it. More...

Pretty good Thai and average service. Some of the items seemed a bit generic, like you could get anywhere else the same exact taste.

My husband and I are visiting from Philly and he was craving Thai. I never had it. He’s a foodie so he can be critical. We do our best to make sure to not eat at chains. Basil, even tho theres more than one, is still local. Our waiter, Alex was our tour guide thru the menu. He gave us his in put on what to start with.. me being the newbie and what to combine.. to satisfy my husband. It started with the cocktail. The Gold Rush. The Basil Rolls followed. then We combined the Pad Thai with the in season Red Snapper Fish. Alex, our waiter made sure to give us the sampler of sauces. Sweet, hot and hotter. This was perfect since my husband likes it hot hot! We didn’t even want dessert but again Alex sold us on the fried bananas with coconut ice cream. It’s very rare to hit the trifecta in eating which is enjoying the food, feeling full and having every sensory satisfied. the tables were comfortable, the music set the mood and with the food, made the whole dinner “spot on”. There was not a miss... even our water was never empty! Everyone is very attentive! Go! Ask for Alex! And enjoy! More...

I didn't make it past the appetizers. All the food looked really good. I was sitting by the kitchen window, which is pretty cool, and was able to see the food prepared. The entrees looked like pretty standard Asian food but smelled amazing. More...

Really good food and service. I went for lunch with coworkers, and we couldn't have been happier. The restaurant is bigger than it looks and have many tables to seat larger groups. For food, they have a variety of Thai dishes, but not an overwhelming number, and our server did an excellent job of answering our questions and making recommendations. I liked that I could choose my protein for each dish and spiciness level. I will say, I think their spiciness levels are pretty low, but they also have spices/sauces on the table so you can add more heat to your dish. The servings are good - you won't have leftovers. Pricing wasn't terrible, but it wasn't cheap. Most dishes run you around $14. Overall, I'll definitely return! More...

This place is awesome. I had the King Prik and coworker had the Basil. The place give just enough to eat and not be overwhelmed after eating. My King Prik, was spicy without the heat. The Basil has a coconut creamy sauce which was delightful. A must go to! If I had more time, I would go back. Next time I go to Charleston, I would definitely stop there. More...

Another beautiful meal at Basil! Our server Paul made great recommendations and the Red Curry did not disappoint! (Try adding broccoli, cashews, pineapple! ) Looking forward to the coconut soup next visit, and still savoring the memory of the Chef’s special duck last visit. Clean, lovely, great bar, low key ambience, and superb service. And the price point is nice! More...
