Have been there a handful of times for dinner. Last night we decided to go for our 4 month Wedding Anniversary. The dining room was completely empty. I was expecting to have the staff be annoyed that we came in for dinner a bit more then an hour before closing. To our surprise we were waited on like we were royalty. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and the food was perfect. We felt welcomed. We never mention that we were celebrating anything. But yet were waited on remarkably. The food was fantastic. You can taste the chef's devotion to his craft in the freshness of the salads, the perfect doneness of the broiled salmon, and the balance of ingredients in the lobster salad sandwich---as well as in the cole slaw.
Even the bread is warm and chewy outside and soft inside.
Our servers have always been sweet, efficient, and knowledgeable.
Finally, the view is good from most every table, due to the humongous wall of windows opening onto Raritan Bay...Spectacular!

One of the most perfect places you could go to enjoy the fireworks for the 4th of July holiday. Exceptional food, drinks and customer service. Beautiful views of the Raritan Bay. Was able to see the fireworks perfectly last night. They serve a variety of steaks for those people who are not into Seafood and if you are into Seafood their crab cakes are absolutely incredible. One of my favorite places to go in Perth Amboy. I highly recommend The Barge for your dining needs. You can also make reservations quite easily on OpenTable and request a table overlooking the water. The staff was very friendly and their recommendations were spot on. My prime rib was disappointing but the waitress suggested the steak instead. .. I should have listened. I couldn’t bring myself to eat seafood since I am from Maryland.... none the less I would give 4 stars.... I enjoyed the Seasoned Staff!!! More...

We were there for our anniversary. Good food and loved sitting outside with a view of the water. Sangria was ok. Server was attentive. room temp was cold. wouldn't turn AC off. we had to close the vents ourselves so we didn't freeze to death. food was good. portions were great. busboy was very clumsy. spilled 2 glasses while clearing table. was an unruly customer causing problems for hostess and her family disrupting other customers. made 1 of her family members get up and leave he was so embarrassed.
