I was nervous/excited going into bamboo for my balayage because I’ve had nothing but bad experiences in the past. I stumbled upon Joelle’s Instagram and noticed she did such an amazing job and saw exactly what I’ve been wanting done on my hair, on her page. So happy I was able to book with her for that same week and can’t say enough how amazing she is. She walked me through the process and was very good at explaining everything she was doing to my hair. I have been coming to this salon for a year now and this review is definitely way overdue. So my absolute two favorite stylists are Sabrina and Jimmy! !!!!! Sabrina has been doing my hair since I first came here, she is truly amazing at what she does. Jimmy has been also working on me since day one and he does incredible work. I just left here and have to leave a review. I've been to so many hair salons on this island and some have been good but charge insane prices and don't listen to what you want. Some have definitely ruined my hair. But Jimmy just did my hair and he listened to every single thing I wanted while he also made my hair look so healthy and fresh! He made me feel comfortable which was great because I always get so nervous cutting my hair (which i'm sure most people do) I got a glaze, haircut and blowout and the price was so great. I'm glad their opened on sundays for people who work on saturdays. The place was busy but they were on top of everything and very nice asking if you wanted a drink while waiting. This salon does cuts, color and make up. Prices are commensurate for the area and the service is really wonderful. I recently found myself on SI for a family party and my sister recommended getting my hair done by Jayson. I had extensions and a down-do. I called ahead to make an appointment. Even though I was early, Jayson was ready! So professional!He did a beautiful job on my hair. I'm so happy I came here; this salon is great! The staff is pleasant and professional. One week prior to coming here, my hair was dyed at another salon, and it turned out very different from what I had wanted. I needed my hair fixed ASAP. I really wanted a beautiful, deep reddish brown but was left with orange hair. As we all know, hair changes everything, so it was hard to walk around like that. I'm very grateful that I was able to get an appointment so quickly with Bamboo Salon.I walked in at the time of my appointment and was taken right away. I felt that all of my thoughts and requests were taken seriously and they tried very hard to make me happy. Jimmy (the person who dyed and cut my hair) did a great job explaining what we needed to do to get my hair where I wanted it to be. The end result was exactly what he explained. First, my hair was dyed a chocolate brown (on top of bright red). Then, he cut a few pieces in the front to frame the hair around my face. The length and angles came out beautiful!!! My hair is still long but now feels lighter and looks much more flattering with a few shorter pieces in the front. My color is way more attractive and natural looking. I'm planning to return for highlights.The environment here is friendly and relaxing - not at all pretentious. They are reasonably priced and less than 5 minutes from my home. I wish after moving to Richmond Town two years ago, I would have started coming here sooner. I'm very happy I found a reliable place so close to home! More...

I used Lina and she really took the time to get to know me and what I wanted my hair to feel and look like. I absolutely loved the results! My daughter, Ally, used Lisa to go with a trendy burgundy/maroon color and it came out amazing and we are both getting so many compliments. Yesterday morning, i decided after more than a year to finally dye my hair back blonde (i went gray early and TRIED to embrace ur but. .). The parking lot only has about 3 to 4 spots but you can find street parking nearish. Everyone is friendly and Louie has done my cut the last 2 times. I loved my most recent cut where I cut off like a foot of hair. They are known for color but I haven't committed to that yet. They do not push product on you which I really like. Nothing turns me off more then the up selling of unnecessary treatments and product.  So I will be back. More...

Bamboo was fantastic to work with! Being that my mom is a hairdresser, and did my hair my entire life, I was extremely nervous to have someone else do my hair for such an important day. During my trial, Amanda made me feel incredibly comfortable and really listened to what I was looking for. I knew then and there that I wanted her to do my hair for my wedding. On the day of the wedding, Amanda, Lina, and Nancy came to my hotel suite and did my hair as well as 10 others. They were on time and stayed 100% on schedule. 5 star rating does not even come close to explaining how unbelievably amazing Nancy was and I cannot recommend her enough to everyone! I never felt so beautiful as I did on my wedding day - Nancy is truly incredible! The best salon, I needed to get a quick blow out and that's exactly what I got a quick but beautiful blow out, I'd say the best blow out. I came as a walk in and got Sabrina as my stylist. Made a same day appointment for a short styled haircut and I'm so happy! I've been to many SI salons and while there are a lot of good salons that handle long hair well, rarely do I find one that cuts short hair well. It was my first time here and based on the reviews I took a chance. I was assigned Tori and wow, so impressed. She was so sweet.  I have really short hair and messed it up by trimming it myself.
