Bakery Cafe serving fresh phenomenal breads, goodies, sandwiches, and salads handcrafted daily. Catering and online ordering.
I can not say enough how wonderful this bakery is!!! As soon as you walk in you’re intoxicated by the yummy aroma!!! The brownies are the best I’ve ever had! The cinnamon chip bread is amazing! And the pepperoni roll can’t be beat!! My pup even loved the doggy treats!! The owners are the kindest people and you can tell they care about their customers, employees and business!! I’m a baker myself, and I’m very picky as to what I eat and so far everything I’ve ate was top notch!! ❤️ More...
I went in to get some bread and he let me try a slice before buying and it was delicious. The atmosphere is awesome. Customer service top notch

Having visited this shop, I can tell you the staff take pride in their restaurant. Excellent service, complimentary samples, delicious sandwiches, bread, and pastries. It’s a must try!!
I absoutly love this place. The owner is amazing and even let me get my order early since I have to be at work before they open.
I had the spicy apple grilled bacon sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend this place!

This is a great new addition to our community. The owners are so welcoming and the made-from-scratch breads and other foods are amazing! Everyone should come here all the time as they have great sandwiches for breakfast AND lunch! Great for holiday breads, too! More...
I tried their brownie and found myself under it’s spell of decadent chocolate and chewy goodness. Thankfully I will not have to yearn from afar because this location is near and now will be dear to my heart.
H reat baked goods.
The bread is the way supposed to be. They mill its own flour!! and make the bread with simple ingredients: freshly milled flouur, water, salt , yeast and money. the bread is more nutritious. sandwich was amazing and much tastier becuase of "the bread". I also got dog treats and my dogs are CRAZY over them. coconuts bread was amazing. not too sweet, just PERFECT. Great bakery!! More...
Just got more bread yesterday I haven’t tried anything yet that I do not like! Totally recommend this place!
My husband and I are SUPER excited to be moving down the street from this place in a few short weeks. While touring the house we of course had to check it out since I feel that the Chicago suburbs have a SEVERE lack of bakeries. The staff was very welcoming. They offer very generous sized samples of 2-4 breads on their menu to indulge in while you are making your selections. We tried the monkey bread and it was very good!We both decided on breakfast sandwiches. They were good but I've had better. They have a list of the breads they make and which day they are baked on so you can come to the bakery for the fresh stuff! We are sourdough worshipers and were sad that they had run out but look forward to trying it in the future. They had some tables and chairs to sit outside which was really nice.I was impressed by their selection of gluten free products for those who seek that sort of thing out.We will certainly be returning and are eager to give more items a try! Best breakfast sandwich around! I’m literally getting one every morning. Change up the bread and it’s a new sandwich. You can get it all day!
Harvest bars or a pumpkin bread absolutely astounding.
I love Great Harvest. They have great bread and cookies. There used to be one in my town that I went to all the time, but they closed several years ago, so now I go to the Naperville store whenever I'm in the area which unfortunately is not often. Today I also had a sandwich there for the first time and it was good too. Their prices are a bit steep, but I think their bread is well worth it. More...
Having worked at a Great Harvest for a decade, I can attest to the quality and care that goes into everything they make! Phenomenal bread, wonderful culture and amazing sweets! You will not be disappointed! More...
I’m so happy to have Great Harvest in Hilliard! Used to visit the Henderson Rd location often. Love your breads!!!
The BEST and FRESHEST bread I have ever eaten. Not just it’s freshly baked every morning, BUT FLOUR is also milled on location. It’s delicious, and the freshness is unbeatable. Very friendly service, always happy and cheery staff. What a great addition to Hilliard. And don’t forget, although it’s franchise, but it’s a Local Owners and employees, it’s LOCAL BUSINESS. #SupportLocalBusiness More...
Love this place! Their hand made fresh breads and yummy goodies are amazing.

Prayers and best wishes to Great Harvest Bread Co. Deli and Cafe in Hilliard. Today is their Grand Opening. I stumbled into the soft opening late yesterday and had the pleasure of meeting the owners. They are lovely people and gave me the best oatmeal chocolate chip walnut cookies I've eaten. Thank you!!!!! They are open to having small groups meet there etc.... A great addition to the Hilliard area. They are in the Westpoint Plaza. Give them a try... More...
Delicious bread and sandwiches! We had the pleasure of being one of the business that received samples before the Grand Opening! Our entire staff will definitely be frequenting Great Harvest Bread Co. More...
Definitely a 5 star establishment! One of the first places I really loved when we first moved to Naperville. Freshly made bread daily. Free generous samples of several of their breads. All of their bread products are addictingly delicious! I wish they offered French style breads, they do more yeasty, soft offerings. My favs include: focaccia, pizza bread (offered only first weekend of the month), garlic cheddar, pumpkin chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, monkey bread! Always have their herb butter spread on hand as well. I believe they have a stand at some local farmers markets as well. More...
Great location, excellent bread, solid menu, and friendly service. A great place to bring the family.
Bread is great, as you would expect.Sandwiches are good. I have had the Classic Turkey and it was just right. The fresh bread makes a big difference. Also had the Baja Chipotle Turkey - yum.Service was good, friendly and prompt. A step above Subway, much appreciated by me. More...
The Virginia Rolls are to die for. I just wish they made banana bread.
Nice staff, pricey but well worth it. Challah was sooo good .
Good scones. A bit too soft for my taste, but the taste made up for the texture.
And you a free slice of bread!
Excellent sandwitch, fair price, great atmosphere, a gather place with friends.
My Great Harvest in Geneva closed years ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was one still around! All of the bread is delicious! I’m supposed to be gluten free, but I can’t resist the breads! More...
Visited the Naperville store. Very clean store. Shelves are tidy and well organized. Wonderful bread, lots of variety. Love the cinnamon chip bread, makes terrific french toast. Very friendly staff, always helpful. Also picked up some dog treats. All natural with only a few ingredients, my dog loves them. Bread freezes well so I stop by and stock up every few months. More...
Wasn't offered a sample, but their stuff is still great
A slice of Heaven on earth. ..
I love coming here. The pumpkin chocolate chip bread is so good. They have it available throughout the year. I don't eat much bread because I live as close to a Paleo diet as I possibly can. But on the days I have a cheat day then I run straight to Harvest. I purchased a whole loaf and cut 4 slices. 2 for me and 2 for my hubby and I give the rest away to my co-workers because I go straight back on my Paleo diet tomorrow. But I don't mind because it's that good and worth it. I tried the low carb loaf today and its really good. Harvest has a sample board and they will cut you big slices to sample. I have also purchased some breakfast sandwiches in the past. They are just perfect on the Oregon herb bread that they make. I am usually helped by an older woman when I visit the Downers Grove location ( I forget her name) she is always super helpful and friendly. More...
Love their new gluten-free white, raisin, and nutted breads. For lunch, we served the white bread with an Italian vegetable soup. Delicious. The bread had a firm texture and a delightful yeast aroma. More...
Decent selection and ok sandwiches
The staff was so friendly. We really enjoyed our sandwiches.
My mom and I stopped by this Resturaunt for lunch and we had the best time. The food was great and great quality. It wasn't a long wait time & they have the best music playing. I love supporting local businesses and the owner sat with us and chatted for a while. It was a great experience. They are willing to cater to whatever you're looking for! We will be recommending this place and coming back all the time! Check it out! Support your local businesses! More...
Love their to go bread! The owners are very kind and helpful. Great lunch fare!!
Fantastic bread and yummy treats - their gluten free chocolate chip cookies are one of my favs! Super staff and really great ingredients make this gem a winner all around.
Love this place and the people in it! Great ingredients and the BEST cookies! Stop in and try some Chocolate Cherry Swirl Bread...so yummy :)
The bread, cookies, and rolls are really great.
Great service and sandwich!
Great bread and great food. The employees were helpful.
Excellent customer service, great bread, sweets, and sandwiches. We will definitely be back!

Great Harvest Bread Company is THE place for getting fresh, fluffy bread in all sorts of original and traditional mixes!I have tried both bread from here, and sandwiches. Let me tell you, I really appreciate a place that has a solid classic menu as well as more experimental breads and sandwiches for the eccentrics like me. I tried both the Popeye and Pumpkin Spice bread. My friend and I split our loot and I took the Popeye home; surprisingly, the loaf stayed moist and fresh for a whole week! You could eat it both plain and toasted, the texture was phenomenal in both aspects. Granted, I refrigerate breads, so your results may vary. The prices are a little bit higher than what you would expect a loaf of bread to go for in a supermarket, but that is a fair price to pay for fresh bread made every day. The price point may scare away some people, but it really depends what you prioritize. If you wanna grab some bread for a party, this might not be the most cost-effective place to shop in. This place also has more items than bread. Though I haven't tried their other items, their selection of ready-to-make soup and various sauces look pretty interesting. This little store definitely tickles my food-adventurous fancy! More...
You can look at this place as a bakery or a sandwich place. They will happily sell you loaves of bread, and it is excellent. They'll give you samples of dessert breads or a half-slice of a featured loaf (the Popeye spinach bread - very tasty). They have a surprising paucity of vegetarian sandwich options; even the salad has meat in it. You can get a grilled cheese (with tasty garlic spread) or a hummus sandwich, or you can order an X without the meat in it. You can't even double down on the vegetables as they don't really have any - I asked them to make me a grilled cheese and add vegetables: they said "well, we have tomatoes." So this is a bit frustrating. On the other hand, the bread was excellent; the cheese was excellent; even the tomatoes were good. I'll stop in when I want to buy a loaf of bread or when I'm in the mood for hummus. (The hummus sandwich description trumpets: "Just one of several meatless options on our cafe menu" - time to step it up, Great Harvest!) More...
A great spot for a Sunday afternoon with friends. We had coffee and treats and the service was great!
The food was good, the ambience was classy and the customer service from Mike and Adam was exemplary. There aren’t a whole ton of options for quick meals in Downtown Downers Grove, so the selection at Great Harvest is a welcome addition.
Very good bread and coffee. A tad expensive but overall very good.
Pumpkin chocolate chip bread
Love their ginger molasses cookies are the bomb
Really like thus bakery store. They have amazing bread loaf options (traditional, fruit mixed, etc.). They also make home made sandwiches for the lunch crowd. Only negative is that all this quality doesn't come cheap. Loaves are $4 to $8 each. More...
Great customer service and great food!
In the words of Scott Pilgrim, "Bread makes you fat?!" Well this bread is worth it. It's the best EVER. I used to buy the white bread alllll the time before I went gluten free. It's the best white bread I've ever tasted. Kind of sweet and amazing texture. Now, since I've been gluten free for a few years, I miss it so much. Their gluten free options are decent but bread needs to be made with gluten. That's just how it is. The gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip bread is the only gf option I buy when I go there. I cheat and eat some gluten when they have cheesey breads or pizza bread to sample because they're worth it. I recommend this place for the bread because that's what they do best. The baked goods and spreads are fine, but the bread is where it's at. More...
I've stopped in three times so figured it's about time I write a review. Each time I was looking for a late lunch sandwich, between 2-3pm so I was one of only a couple groups there. On my third visit, the cashier greeted me and offered a free sample of a cinnamon bread and acknowledged me as a repeat guest. Not quite like "Norm" from Cheers but it's nice to be remembered.I've tried their Chicken Salad sandwich and their Italian sandwich. I love the hearty fresh-made bread they offer, not traditional bread for these types of sandwiches but they added something unique to the meal which I appreciate. I'd say the Italian sandwich is quite possibly the best Italian sandwich I've ever had, which is why I ordered it again on my third visit. The menu is somewhat limited but it's a good addition to the lunch options in downtown Downers Grove and I'm certain to return frequently. Mango Ginger Tea Cake. Write that down, and then go buy some - it's so stinkin good!! As in, I can't wait until I'm hungry again so I can eat some more! Big thanks to Nancy @ Anderson's Books for letting me know this place just opened up. I got a Cubano sandwich and the aforementioned tea cake. The sandwich was nearly perfect; I'm not sure if regular bread is the best thing to make these with, but the portions were great and the ingredients were high quality. (And they use dill pickles like a normal person, not like Panera putting bread & butter pickles on theirs - wtfrick, Panera?!!) I'll definitely be back again to try the grilled cheese with ham & tomato. And I'll probably pick up one or more of the amazing-looking soup mixes. And some locally produced honey. And some fresh bread. Oh, and... (say it with me) some more Mango Ginger Tea Cake! More...
Brand new addition to downtown DG, have to check this place out! Everything is made from scratch

I am at the new Downers Grove location. I loved how my sandwich was made and everything is soo nice and clean.
Love their soup and sandwiches! Especially the chicken salad. Just wish they had a kids menu
Great bread and decent prices.
We got a gift basket for my grandparents that looked beautiful, and was delicious. I think the chocolate babka was the highlight, but you can’t go wrong with any of the other choices.
Monkey bread is spot on. Perfect balance of sweet and cinnamon.

Good bread and sandwiches, nice poeple.
Was always looking for a good deli style sandwich in Naperville other than the fast food sub chains. I didn’t know this place sold sandwiches. The quality was great and it hit the spot. I purchased a loaf of the pumpkin chocolate chip bread after they gave me a sample. Totally bomb with a nice cup of black coffee. Thanks great harvest for adding some quality to this cookie cutter suburb. More...
Love their Dakota bread.
Yummy but way over priced for everyday bread consumption. The breads make nice gifts or make great party pleasers.
I just met the owners at the Hinsdale farmers Market talk about a wonderful woman... she was super nice... Large selection of tasty loaves of bread and buns.
Popeye Bread Sausage and Pepperoni Bread Some sweet bread with pieces of mango What has this world come to and how did I miss it?These breads were AMAZING! The Popeye was a little spicy, or should I say perfectly spicy. The pizza bread actually has pieces of meet. I could, no I DID, have bread for dinner and dessert tonight. Stopped by yesterday and bought some breads and buns. They are all delicious: Irish Soda Bread, Hot Cross Buns and the Italian Sweet Bread. I must admit, I always go to Casey's and Trader Joe's but, haven't been at the Great Harvest in a very long time. The Facebook commercial was done really well and very convincing. The staff are all nice and approachable. Lauren was excellent on the phone and done a good job in setting aside my order for pick up. I will be back. Thank you very much! :-) More...

Thank you Great Harvest for the fabulous lunch yesterday! Can’t decide if we liked the Cubano or Turkey Chipotle sandwich better! But then again the chicken salad was great, too! Friends, if you haven’t given their new lunch offerings a try what are you waiting for! More...
I still looooooooooooooove the fresh bread. However, this year the Asiago Italian focaccia was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too peppery. I have used this bread to make my stuffing for years. This year it made my tongue burn and go numb. I actually called and asked if they had changed the recipe, that's how bad it was. Instead of eating the fresh bread as I cut it, I ended up throwing a portion of the stuffing in the garbage :( More...

This is THE place to get your bread! The plain white bread is actually my favorite. The cuban sandwich is to die for!

LOVE THIS PLACE! So clean and delicious! The staff are all friendly and it is a welcoming environment-- could not recommend this place more! A treasure to have in Naperville!
I have made the special trip to Naperville to buy bread at least 4 times now. These breads are made on site daily. Check the schedule or call ahead if you are looking for something specific. The quality of the products here is of a high standard - with prices to match. Given there are some other places nearby to buy decent bread, this seems like they could do with a better spread of priced options. Price aside, the bread choices are well-thought through and in some cases, very unique. More...

We need more bread specific shops around town like this. Particularly my wife and I like the as Iago savory bread but they also have a great variety of low gluten and can I say healthy bread selections. They always have freshCut bread to sample and different dipping sauce and oils as well. This is a well established mom and pop shop bread store More...
And disappointing shelf products a number of them have corn syrup check ingredients before you buy. Coffee was great. Gluten free is tough if you are celiac bc it's still a facility where wheat is milled so it is airborne and cross contaminated if you are very sensitive but if not celiac it's not an issue. This could be a great spot for a great bakery. Just remove corn syrup, price breads competitively and offer more variety...I have to update this review because I gave it another shot and ... The monkey bread was divine AND I didn't see corn syrup in the ingredients on the shelf products. They're gluten free breads are better tasting and competitively priced. Well done!! Great bakery now! I love the Great Harvest Bread Company. They sell a wide variety of goods from baked breads of all types to whipped honey and butter of all flavors. It is a very small store, but as soon as you walk in you are greeted by a smiling face and offered samples of their items. Today, I was able to try their bruschetta, pomegranate whipped honey, and garlic-infused oil on three different types of bread! It was soooo good. My favorite is the cherry coconut whipped honey on their Irish Soda bread. The whipped honey comes from Colorado and it is unlike anything I've ever tasted. Aside from breads they have a number of pastries you can purchase over the counter. They also sell gift baskets with all different types of items, which are perfect for a Mother's day gifts (which is creeping up on us fast by the way....). They also have a coffee menu where you can pretty much get the same things you would find at a Starbucks, but for MUCH better prices. This store is wonderful. More...
Delicious varieties of bread and specialty condiments. Bread is moist but also very dense. Try whatever is in season!
I'm so silly sometimes... I'm embarrassed to say I've never been in here. I've certainly had it bookmarked, but I rarely eat a loaf of bread. I go thru rolls and buns but get those freshly made when I go to my butcher.I made the walk over to Walker's Charhouse and decided to stop in on the walk home. A nice greeting upon arrival and the offer to try a slice of bread, which they have on display. I like rye and they had an unusual sample of Swedish Limpa, which has anise seeds but also pureed oranges. It was the last day they were making it, so I figured I could freeze it for now. I get spoiled every once in a while and my neighbor bakes me a loaf. I think she bakes something everyday for her family or a church event. I see they actual grind their own raw materials here and the pumpkin/chocolate chip, which is a top seller, sounds good enough that it will get me back in here before another five years pass. I saw a large table full of gluten free items... I haven't made the switch over. Also an assortment of pies. I'll have to stop back and try their coffee and breakfast items too.My New Years resolution is do more shopping in this plaza, as I can walk here.... weather permitting, as it is nearly a whole mile. I like stopping here after going to Walkers Charhouse and getting some fresh bread and cookies.
Very good but do not go if you have nut allergies. Most places are okay even if they have then in the facilities but there is too much nut contamination here.
The breat is fantastic and the staff is very nice. The kids love the bread samples and the blueberry scones are the best.
Low carb wheat and cinnamon bread.
Great Harvest? Friggin' Fantastic Harvest, more like it. Boom.Gluten free loaves and cookies. . . .pumpkin chocolate chip bread that will make a grown man cry. The Snickerdoodle cake bread was like a giant muffin of glorious cinnamon chips, cinnamon swirls, cinnamon ridiculousness! No, it's not cheap, but it's not the bakery at your local grocery store, either. Duh. It's worth the splurge. Go. To. There. Now. More...
AMAZING bread and cookies. I can't believe how good their multigrain/whole is. YUM. Just as a point of reference, they don't sell crusty artisan bread, it's sliced loaves.
Bready good!! I don't know how else to put it. Samples galore with breads ranging from savory to sweet. And I love the staff! They were quick to ask me which bread I wanted to sample--I didn't even have to ask! I went with one of their most popular breads--Garlic Cheddar. It was $7 and worth every dollar. I also got their seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip bread ($7.50) which was also very good. And this is coming from someone who prefers savory over sweet anything. While this place may be a bit pricier than your local grocery store, I think it's worth it. Especially if you are a carb monger like I am and love love love yummy breads. Stop by--you won't regret it. More...
I have to watch my carbs and Great Harvest makes 2 types of low carb breads (cinnamon & a multi grain). Not only are the breads delicious my blood sugar has been stable. Thanks Great Harvest Bread.
This place is so amazing! After hearing some horror stories about how some companies make their breads, I decided I wanted to switch to local bakery breads. I go to Trader Joe's and Casey's all the time in that same shopping center, so I decided to try this place out. I've gone 3 times and have always come home with some awesome bread. This last time I came home with a loaf of bread AND hamburger buns! They some breads that are available every day. They also have a list you can grab that tells you what breads are available on what day of the week. You can sample any of the daily breads and some of the every day breads. The first time we got Tuscan Tomato, which was amazing with turkey sandwiches. Next we tried Oregon Herb. I liked it by itself, but wasn't a fan of it on sandwiches because the flavor was really strong. My boyfriend liked it though. The buns we bought were Cheddar Garlic. Definitely worth a try! We got some Low Carb Cinnamon bread as well, that is so good with peanut butter and jelly. Would be great as a breakfast bread with eggs and bacon too.....if I ate bacon anymore! Mmmmmm! This place will be my go-to place for any bread needs! More...

I can't believe this place is still here! I remember coming here with my mother when I was a little kid and being super excited every time we would go. But I had never really paid much attention to what was here until more recently. And it brought me back to the past! Once you enter the door, you are embraced with the fragrance of freshly baked bread (which is what they're known for) and they have so many different choices of bread to choose from. But don't worry, they will let you taste any of the flavor combinations. Also, make sure to grab their calendar, because they change (I assume still) the varieties of bread they offer monthly. But the staff is well knowledgable and very friendly. After bringing me back to happier times, it has hooked me in once again, and I will definitely make this a regular spot. More...
One of my coworkers asked me how far was I to Edward hospital, then asked me if I know Great Harvest Bread, then asked me if I could get the Old fashioned white for him if I happen to drive by that area. Wow, must be some bread which make him want to get. He lives like more than one hour away. So I went. I got the old fashioned white for him and Asiago Italian for me. The Asiago Italian was simply the best. It was rich, moist, soft, and just delicious. Our dinner was this bread dipping in the extra virgin olive oil and some stir fried green beans. So content in the end. I think I could be addicted to it as I am already thinking of getting more of it. It is expensive but totally worth it. The service was wonderful. A young staff told me I should not keep the bread in frig which makes it go stale fast. My bread should be good for 7-10 days as it was made that day. A wonderful option although it was all gone within a few hours we got it. I'm just glad I live so close to this place. More...
The breads are absolutely delicious. They have a bunch of samples that you can try before you purchase. A bit more expensive, but totally worth it! Service is wonderful!
Hawaiian bread. Why are you still reading this review? You have all you need to know. Now get going. Are you gone yet? Fine: challah, hot cross buns done like my English family makes, chewy cookies, moist muffins, and bread. Hot bread, fresh bread, out of the oven and the butter's melting from the heat bread. If this hasn't set your mouth watering, I don't know what will. Great Harvest Bread Company is honestly like crack and I'm a junkie in withdrawal for this place. My willpower and the fact turning towards Gartner aligns me to the 95th Street YMCA are all that kept me from raiding the place on a daily basis as I headed to and from work.Great Harvest opens early, tempts visitors with succulent scents and heady aromas. Did you know chicken and baking bread are the most comforting and beloved scents to western cultures? There's a conspiracy going on, I guarantee you, one you want to be in on. I can just bask in here while a line snakes forward, absorbing the contentment on the atmosphere.I've never ordered a bad product, in part because samples allow me to try many things and the standards for quality are just so high. I restraint myself from grazing and focus on one key goal: this loaf, that bag, that's it. Okay, maybe one hot crossed bun. Oh, who am I kidding, everything here is soft, chewy, and immensely flavourful. The demise of traditional bakeries around western Chicagoland has left a glaring hole in my life for freshly baked bread which Great Harvest amply fills. Staff are delightful people greeting the regulars and bantering with newcomers alike. They are actively involved in Naperville, coming out for all kinds of special events, sponsoring drives, encouraging students, engaging with families and seniors and everyone in between. I support businesses who care for and support the communities they are in. Great Harvest's employees generally seem happy and thrilled to work there, and that says a great deal.Happy employees, happy food, happy me.Thank you, Great Harvest. I miss you living in Michigan, and you're one of the surefire places I stop at whenever I'm in N'ville. More...
This place is the best for healthy bread if you believe there is such a thing -- great service, great bread, sample before you buy. Only 100% freshly milled on premise whole wheat flour is in many, but not all items. Ingredients are clearly indicated on all items they sell, even the dog treats! While they are more expensive than the typical grocery store highly refined flour breads, they are not much more expensive than other high fiber 100% whole grain breads. I am hooked on the low-carb breads. They are a solid value, especially when you consider they are 1.5 lb loaves. Many of the the sweets and holiday breads are baked with white, unbromated flour and 100% whole wheat flour. They are DELICOUS. I just bought the blueberry cream cheese babka...WOW! Visit and hope it is available to sample. It will be difficult to just buy one, but it will be on sale all of December so you know you can return and buy more. More...
Automatic second stop after Succulent Seafood, a couple doors down. I love the ingredients - so fresh. The asiago italian is lovely, also the tomato, the straight-up french/italian or whatever - all delish. My only minor complaint is the breads tend toward the soft side - I could do with more dense options. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies taste so wonderful and buttery. I have not tried the pies or the gluten-free stuff, but it all looks great. More...
As a customer and a former employee, great harvest provides an amazing environment for both the customers and the employees. Where both find joy in everything from coffee and scones to sandwich breads. More...
Unfortunately, I cannot comment on most of the menu items because I am GLUTEN FREE, but the GLUTEN FREE items they offer are amazing!!! Best bread I've had yet!!
This place has the best white bread I have ever tasted. I am spoiled, I can only eat white bread from here. Store bought white bread tastes like cardboard compared to this stuff. They have DELICIOUS cinnamon rolls, and they are fat-free, Bonus!! I can go on and on. Their white chocolate cherry bread is great. The orange blossom bread is wonderful. OK, just go here you won't be disappointed!!! More...
I absolutely love this place. They have a wide selection of bread, plus cookies, muffins, and other goodies. It is always so difficult to choose. Fortunately they have plenty of samples to help out. This alone would make for a wonderful store, but it does not stop there. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They are patient and knowledgable and have never steered me wrong. One afternoon when I was stocking up on carbs, a high school aged kid came in and wanted to use the phone to call his mom for a ride. The staff let me use the phone and also loaded him up with samples while he waited. What a great place! More...
Two thoughts come to mind when someone mentions Great Harvest: great service and darn good bread. This company has been one of my favorites for quite some time now, and I have never had a single bad experience with it. When first walking in, customers are presented with a unique and comfortable layout. The bread is situated on shelving units that act as the back wall, and above is a blackboard with bread selections for the day. In my opinion, it is incredibly refreshing as the bakers show off their creativity, by changing the menu daily. Not to mention, if had to choose from their entire menu, I would never be able to decide. At the front counter, you will consistently find a friendly employee, ready to ask you if you would like a slice of a freshly baked sample. As a kid, I loved to go to Costco or Sam's Club primarily for the taste-testers, so I am always happy to try a slice. Some favorite flavors in my household include Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, Oregon Herb, and Tomato Basil. Even their Old-fashioned White is moist and filled with flavor. Look to the left or right, and you will see a series of counters. On them are great coffee, delicious pies, and the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies you will ever taste. If you have ever craved incredibly moist chocolate-filled goodness, the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at Great Harvest are a must. I once had the opportunity to meet with the storeowners and, after the experience, I gained an endless amount of respect for the company. While it may sound cliché, I could tell that they truly put their heart and soul into the bread. They are a married couple, with more than one child involved in the store. According to the husband, family dinners often act as employee meetings. After hearing this, and knowing the wonderful quality of food, I feel confident that my money is being well spent. The single, and almost insignificant, downfall is the price of products. Do not expect promotions or grocery store costs because, at Great Harvest, it can be a bit pricey. But, just like everything else in life, quality is never cheap. More...
Like others have said, this place truly has the best bread. My only experience with this place is through the Wheaton Farmer's Market, but their products are consistently delicious. I've fallen in love with the rustic tomato bread, garlic cheddar rolls, and oh my god, the Oregon Herb bread - I could eat loaves of that onion-y, dill-y, poppyseed-y goodness. The staff is always friendly and always willing to let you sample something before buying it. It's a bit more pricey that what you'd find at the grocery store, but in my opinion it's worth every penny. I can't want to try some of their other items that I've missed. More...
Whenever I come into Great Harvest, I am there for one thing and one thing only: the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They always moist and are by far the best damn cookies around. They also have specials on Irish Soda bread, which is always really delicious. The staff is always very courteous and fun to chat with. You can really tell that they genuinely want people to try their products: they always have samples out and if you try it out, they can't wait to hear you opinions and suggestions! It's so nice to have a staff who really cares about what you think and who really try to to be responsive to their customers' needs. You should expect to pay a little more here for bread and pastries than you do at the grocery store, but the quality of their stuff is really great and I don't feel like it's too expensive of a leap. Yes, this place does indeed have great bread, and a wide selection. I guess we don't need special bread that often, but when you're in the mood for it, this place is a must go. The loaves may be on the expensive side ($5 - $7), but you certainly get your money's worth. I tried a sample of an apple-cinnamon bread, and it was moist, rich and delicious. I suspect their coffee is good too, and will also try that next time. More...
I have loved Great Harvest for years! I usually only get a loaf of honey whole wheat, which sounds pretty plain, but it's yummy! They're muffins and cookies are delish also! It's the right price, and perfect for any occassion! More...
Yes - Red White and Blue Bread is back for the 4th!! Stop in before it is gone, and try the squeezable peanut butter packs - sample sizes to test - cinnamon peanut butter and maple almond butter - delicious.Oh and the Rustic Tomato Bread - gaga over this toasted with hummus - served it instead of chips today at our BBQ and everyone loved it. Got to love a place that has free samples of its products. My favorite is the chocolate chip pumpkin bread but almost everything I've had is awesome! Don't go in there expecting a bland, tasteless white bread that you can roll into little balls....this bread is the real stuff and worth every penny.I just wish I had more time in my schedule to stop in everyday! I read people complaining that there is no "zero" stars, well I'm looking for a sixth star for this place. Happy people that like what they are doing handing out generous samples of our favorite staple. Imaginative bread baking, snickerdoodle cookies, good coffee, and very reasonable prices. The bread is a meal in itself, and there's no Starbucks within a couple of miles. More...
Great Harvest Bread Company is a must. I agree with Dan P that if I culd give it 6 stars I would. They have the best bread at this bakery and my favorite is the cinnamon swirl bread- I honestly could eat the entire loaf in one sitting... it's that good. I highly recommend going here- and if you are feeling like something chocolate-y try the chocolate chip cookies- they are so good! My mouth is watering as I'm writing this review. More...
