I tried the Bavarian cream one ( haven't tried the savory ones yet!) but if you are looking for something that's not a boring cupcake or donut, and something more authentic and homemade I would recommend the chimney cakes as desserts. Also, they are huuuuuge!

Outstanding family owned dessert option.  If you are tired of ice cream and pie, try this.  Is it is wonderful take on combining what we all love.  Light cake with an incredible filling.   I do recommend splitting them as they as very decadent.   You will not be disappointed in any option but may be jealous of what your friends or relatives chose and you passed on. What an amazing hidden gem at paradise valley mall. Who knew there was this amazing place that make kürtőskalács aka chimney cakes in AZ. They have both savory and sweet versions. I had the opportunity to try the Spinach & Artichoke and Oreo Cream Chimney cakes and let me tell you they were both amazing. The spinach & artichoke reminded me of and amazing dip with this crispy cheese dough around it. Then the oreo cream was thick and creamy with dough sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Such a yummy stop having some Chimney Cakes tonight. Let's just say oreo/nutella filing inside a chimney cake is deeeeelish. If you haven't had a chimney cake before, now is your chance. This is the only place to get them in Arizona, and they are locally owned. All of their recipes are authentic European recipes. They have sweet and savory options, but my favorite are the sweet ones. The Bavarian cream they make in house is to die for! Get it stuffed in a cinnamon sugar coated chimney cone for a classic and delicious treat. This place is amazing. The chimney cakes are handmade and take around 8-10 mins but so worth it. It was a unique experience you just won't find many places, good for expanding your cultural eats or to go for a date. It's run by a mother/son duo and the lady made this place even better with how adorable she was. We aren't from the area but if we were, we'd be regular customers! *****GEM ALERT*********AZ Chimney Cakes serves Hungarian Style pastry that is made fresh for you to order. They offer sweet and savory and stuffed varieties and they also offer specials of the day. We shared a Havarti and Jalapeño Chimney Cake. We waited around 15 minutes for it to be prepared. OMG it's so delicious! It's big but it's lighter than I imagined it to be. The dough is very doughy with a hint of sweetness and moisture. It sounds CRAZY but it's a very similar taste to a real Philadelphia Pretzel that you buy from venders in the streets. Both me and my husband thought Philadelphia pretzel when we tried it. Our chimney cake was embellished with havarti cheese and jalapeños. It was so delicious I could imagine it as an amazing sandwich too. The owners were nice and friendly. They also offered us sour cream and salsa to go with the Chimney Cake. I stopped in while shopping just for a look, but the staff was so nice and friendly I decided to order. I got the chimney cake with the Oreo filling and man was it good. I took one bite and just new I had to have my brother try it. So I drove all the way to his house and split it with him. Let's just say he loved it as much as I did. This is a very unique pastry restaurant with freshly made baked treats that are made to order. I have tried both the sweet and savory options and both are great. They are filled with your choice of different creams from Bavarian to cookies and cream and the value you get is astronomical. I saw them on the news literally a few days after I visited and they deserve the recognition. Since they are made right in front of you be patient it can take a little while for them to make it, but when they come out to your table you will see why its worth the time. These special treats are delicious, but do take a bit of time to make as they are made fresh to order, and there was only one person running the shop on the day we visited. Wish there were more savory options. I love the fact that they have a sampler option so you can try more than one filling, but I wish customers' creations could be added to the menu (like at Cold Stone) to help new customers know what to chose. After trying the delicious Bavarian cream and the strawberries and cream, I decided it would have been absolutely delicious to add strawberries to the Bavarian cream and put it into the walnut chimney cake.The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the giant television in the dining area. It was too loud, but more importantly the program that was on when we were in their had language that was not appropriate for the little ones that were with us.I hope this place makes it. More...

Do you like delicious desserts? Then head on over to AZ Chimney Cakes.  The Bavarian Cream cake is delicious. I frequently salivate over the cream puff I had in Munich when I was there for Oktoberfest and while the Hungarian cake doesn't share the soft squishy consistently of the cream puff, the flavor palette is right there.Made fresh to order.

I'm going to share the same review I wrote on Google Maps! We just tried AZ Chimney Cakes for the first time today and let me tell you, this place is incredible! Going in I had no idea what a chimney cake was, but we love trying new things and weren't disappointed in the slightest! My husband and I each ordered a sampler cake, which is a freshly-baked while-you-wait tunnel of pastry filled with your choice of 2 incredible fillings. My husband and I both chose Bavarian cream for one of ours, and then I chose cookies and cream for my second and he picked strawberries and cream. We were blown away by the warm crispy pastry coated in cinnamon sugar and the generous amount of filling on the inside. These cakes are huge! I couldn't even wrap my hand around the entire thing. I loved both of my options, but if we had to pick one, my husband and I both agreed that the Bavarian Cream is absolutely to die for. If you're still reading, what're you doing Drop what you're doing and go try some of what AZ Chimney Cakes has to offer! We will definitely be going back. I lived in Czech Republic for 2 years and never thought I would see this European dessert that I often bought on the street in Prague and other European countries right here in the US. Got in for vacation, and after a bit of swimming and some tacos for dinner, thought my kids would like some dessert... And here we came upon AZ Chimney Cakes! My wife and I have had these before on a trip to the Czech Republic, and they're so good that we just had to check this out here in Arizona. It was awesome! The dough was delicious, and the Bavarian Cream was fantastic. I probably could have just done with a plain cake, as it was that good. Service was friendly and and courteous. Stumbled upon this place while at PV mall. I had never heard of a chimney cake, but the description and the sweet smells of pastries pulled me in! Decided to get a sampler of the cinnamon sugar chimney cake... half strawberries and cream (topped with chocolate) and half Bavarian cream. The owner was super patient with my indecisiveness on the menu, and was so incredibly friendly. Okay... back to the food...OH. MY. GOSH. Now, think of a churro and how good they are when they're fresh, warm and crunchy... and then imagine that same crunch on the outside, with a nice warm dough on the inside, then filled with delicious toppings. I tried my first chimney cake earlier this year on their food truck and was hooked! Knowing I can get them 7 days a week now at a brick and mortar location is oh so bad, yet soooo good! These things are absolutely devine! My favorite is the Munich, which is cinnamon and sugar outside with an amazing perfect Bavarian cream inside. They're even good hours later, if you can make them last that long (pro tip - buy a spare for later!) The cinnamon rolls and coffee are also fab - you really can't go wrong with anything here! Ok this is the best surprise I've had in a long time. My wife and I stopped by after a friend posted this place on Instagram, and we saw it at PV Mall in Phoenix. Tried AZ Chimney Cakes for the first time last week with two friends as we were getting in our steps at Paradise Valley Mall. Came across this delightful shop in the location where the Starbucks used to be, on the west side of the mall.  We shared two chimney cakes, Bavarian cream and another with strawberries and cream. The pastry was done to perfection. I could tell the shop uses high-quality ingredients and their pastries. The place is cute and clean and the service was  excellent. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Next time I think I will try the savory chimney cakes I saw on the menu. I noticed on the sign they also have homemade cinnamon rolls.
