Contemporary Italian Restaurant with a modern twist on classic dishes. Kale and cannellini bruschetta was unique.
Love it here. Always fabulous!
Delicious!! Spinach ravioli was very good, the bolognese is awesome. Very nice and clean, service and staff were great! Definitely will go back.
Terrific food and service.
Eggplant parmesan is so good! No need for the penne side pasta...the eggplant portion was huge. Service excellent. My husband had lasagna and loved it.
Visited the restaurant 20 years ago on a date with my then future wife. Ate there tonight with my wife and wondered why we waited 20 years to eat here again. Food was phenomenal and the staff were warm and welcoming. More...
One of the best restaurant options in North End, especially considering the excellent food you can get fairly quickly; the service is great and fast and you can get a seat pretty easily rather than waiting a couple hours at other places.

Perfect, perfect and perfect! I love everything's! Foods, drinks and servers!!"
Visiting from Austin, TX, which... though it's a great food town, is not a great Italian food town. I'm here for a week and Artu was my first meal. And I gotta tell you, this is going to be tough to beat. The food Made me almost cry it was so good. And the service? Wendy at the bar really put this place over the top. More...
Great food, with helpful wait staff.
Good classic Italian, everyone enjoyed the meal.
Exceptional food and cocktails. Service is amazing, and the bartenders Alissa, Wendy and Ashley are the best!
Great place to eat in the north end. The food and portions are amazing. the staff is very friendly.
Decent Italian fare
Excellent food, drinks and service. Our waiter was friendly and offered many great recommendations.
It's chill, very relaxing
Excellent restaurant! Salads are delicious. Manicotti was heaven. Great service. Great ambiance.
If you like red sauce dishes, this place is for you.
Great place. Great prices. The pasta dishes were cooked great and probably is some of the best Italian food in the North End. It deserves a 6 star review. Great work! More...
WENT THERE AFTER OUR DAUGHTERS COLLEGE GRADUATION AND ENJOYED THE FOOD FROM THE APPETIZERS TO THE MAIN COURSE AND THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT TOO
Had a family style dinner for a large group after graduation. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was even better than the five star service.
This is one of my Mom's favorite places to eat whenever we're in Boston, so she took me while we were visiting Boston for Mother's day weekend. The entire staff wished us a happy Mother's day from the moment we walked in the door & even gave us flowers as we left! The service was amazing, but the food...!!! Melt in your mouth steak & a menu with so many amazing sounding dishes, it was tough to choose! I can absolutely understand why my Mom loves it here so much & I will be carrying on the tradition of eating here every time I'm in Boston! More...
Great food and service!
Awesome service and great food! The carbonara is amazing!
The authentic Italian cuisine served here is absolutely terrific! Truly a gem!
Go with the chicken parmesan. Possibly the best thing I ever ate
Delicious, as always. Tiramisu was the best I've ever had.
Only later night spot for food that I found in the South End. Great menu for what you pay.
Pollo Donato is amazing. Exceptional service, great location just off Hanover St, good ambiance and food is always delicious. Nice variety of menu options and apps. I first started coming here 25 years ago when I was dating my wife- this was our go-to place when we worked in the city and even though I now travel all over the US, I would still put this on my short list of favorite restaurants. Highly recommended!!!! More...
Seriously Artu was fantastic. Everything we ate was delicious. One of the top notch spots in the North End. Do yourself a favor and stop in. Not a bad dish in the place.
Another special night at Artu’s. Easily the best chicken parm in the northeast. The sangrywas also amazing and make sure you request Ricco- he will steer you to the right menu choice!
The veal was TO DIE FOR! Stuffed with motzarella & smothered in mushrooms with fresh bread for the yummy sauce. And our waiter, Rocco, made excellent recommendations! Service & food was fantastic!! The next time we’re in Boston we’ll definitely stop again, and we’ll ask for Rocco for sure!! Thank you, The E’s from Nantucket More...
Howard. As usual
Great food, great service, authentic and interesting art
We had an amazing meal and an amazing waiter. Thank you Ricco for making our first (of many more) meals here so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!

The service here cannot be beat. Had a amazing lunch. Cannot recommend this place enough. A nice bottle of wine and the sausage broccoli rabe sandwich will bring be back, over and over again.

Amazing food, super friendly staff, what more can you ask for.
Bit slow on service but was fine.
The food was really good, setting felt crowded, the customer service was lacking but they were able to sit us pretty quickly during a busy hour.
Today's food was only okay
They found a table for us when other restaurants were crowded, very pleasant atmosphere, great service. Delicious Italian food, not overpriced. I take one star for the bread they brought with regular small packages of butter spread which was very disappointing for a high-end Italian place. More...
Excellent food and great service!
Excellent food! Always go here when I'm in the North End

Excellent Italian food. We got some meatballs and fried calamari as appetizer and they were so good. Then we all ordered pasta because the spaghetti are homemade, I believe the tagliatelle too. I've been to Italy several times and this is the closets thing to the Italian cuisine that I've ever tasted in the U.S. I strongly recommend to get the homemade pasta it DOES make the difference as not all of us ordered. More...
Quaint bar, seems newly renovated or created, somewhat open, but good drinks and helpful staff.
Food A+. Customer service A+
No wait, great service, reasonable prices. Just as good as the hour waits around the corner.
You are in Boston's North End, you are hungry. You smell something amazing. It's Italian for sure! Well, drop by ARTU and order their Pasta Punttanesca. SERIOUSLY, It's AMAZING! Here's a lil bonus. It's a FIREHOUSE FAVORITE!!! Don't take my word for it, ask the guys at Station 8 on Hanover. More...
Good service, nice decor, amazing food. Brought back memories of Italy. Satifyingly delightful. Great value.
Great service at the bar, wonderful wines by the glass, and terrific food!
친절한 서비스와 좋은 분위기가 있는 곳. 음식은 더할나위없이 맛있습니다. 몇 가지를 시켜서 쉐어해서 먹으면 다양한 요리를 맛볼 수 있습니다.
Service was fantastic and our group enjoyed our dishes.
Food is so good! Love this place. We had our rehearsal dinner here and had no regrets. Just returned 3 years later for dinner and it was so delicious!
Good food, great environment, and decently large compared to other north end Italian restaurants.
I tried the lobster pasta. It came out good. Really good food. One of the better italian restaurant. Had a pastry at Mike's after that.
Great place!!!! My husband and I love it! we spent a day in Boston as part of our short get away and walking by little Italy we decide to get some pasta, that street is sooo full of Italian restaurants we didn't know where to go so we decide to ask a local for some advice (you know always go where the locals go if you dont want to get into a turist trap) and He recommend Artu and OMG it didn't disappoint, the BEST pasta we ever ate, so fresh, so much flavor, great service, very nice place. Whenever we get the chance to go back to beautiful Boston, We know for sure that's our 1st stop! More...
It was busy, but not overcrowded with nice attentive bartenders. There is long bench seating around the perimeter of the bar area, which is a great if you want to enjoy a drink while waiting for a table or a seat at the bar. After 10-15 minuets or so we were able to get seats at the bar and had a few drinks. Pineapple infused with vodka is a nice refreshing summer drink. More...

Its food is good and you can sit at the bar and have a drink while your waiting
Everything was excellent, from the antipasto, home made pasta, octopus and tiramisu. Never had such tender octopus. Wine too. Superb!
This is hands down my favorite place in the North end. Do yourself a favor and get the pollo donato. It is truly epic.
Amazing service, food and staff!! Very fresh ingredients. The presentation of each dish well executed!! See for yourself!! YOU MUST DINE HERE!!!!
Linguine scampi was excellent! For dessert head around the corner for the most highly recommended canollis in Boston.
I took my leadership team here as part of an offsite and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This is an unassuming place tucked away on a side street to the north of Hannover St. We ordered 3 of the pastas, including th carbonate and the bolognese, and the mussels as a shared starter. Every one of the pastas were delicious. I can't touch shellfish but others in our party were raving about them. The main courses were very generous portions. I had the Pollo Donata and I confess that I found this a little heavy on the Parmesan. This might not have been an issue in a smaller portion. The waiter was young but attentive (definitely a but of a salesman - he sold the menu well).I would definitely return. More...
Had the fettuccine norcina, and it was delicious! Wonderful truffle flavor embedded in the pork and moliterno cheese sauce. I would have licked my plate in private. Wonderful red wine that was jammy with what I believe we're notes of cherry. More...
Fantastic food....everthing we ordered was amazing!!!
Nice location and good food.
Food was fantastic. Excellent service. Coffee was rocket fuel. Prices are up there, but expected right in the North end. It's also a little of the main drag here which is great. The street was super busy but we walked right in and we're seated right away. More...
It's not just amazing food it's the atmosphere as well. The Cornerstone of the North End I'll always find my way there whenever I want to be around good people and good food.Ps. The service is amazing
Good but a little prices
Very friendly staff that accommodated our family consisting of 4 adults and 6 children. Our son was offered a pizza he so desperately was hoping for despite not being on the evening menu. A true Italian experience in terms of taste and hospitality. More...
Thought the food was delicious, service was great and the bread was fantastic. I would highly recommend going back again. The best dish of the night was the roasted chicken. It is a huge portion and extremely moist. More...

Favorite restaurant in the North End!
The food was fantastic. The chicken marsala and saltimboca were equally amazing. Can't wait to go back!
Great Italian food and the best Manhattans. The meatballs are a must. Rustic decor and fun hangout spot on weekends.
Artu might become my new favourite Italian restaurant in the North End. Many classic dishes to choose from, but I would recommend the pasta over anything. The service was great too, my waiter was quite entertaining! More...

Great vibe & menu, one of our favorites for real Italian!
Excellent service, food, and staff. Was greeted outside and treated respectfully. As for food. Lasagna A++, shrimp scampi A++, spinach ravioli A++, eggplant and chicken so tastey A++. Could eat there daily. Definitely a return visit in the works. O and chicken, potatoes and veg looked amazing (table next to us had it) and fresh mozz and tomatoes. Could go on and on. More...

Great atmosphere, the food was amazing, highly recommend the lollipop lambs chops. Bar staff was fantastic
Amazing food and excellent service. Our waiter Juan was attentive and knowledgeable. The only thing I would change would be the presentation of the bread and butter. Individual wrapped butter pads are not generally a good indication of tasty meal to follow! We requested and were brought some delicious pesto for the bread! Overall great experience. We will be back! More...
Fantastic service and the food is outstanding. Get there early for fast service. Enjoy
Stopped in for a late dinner on the recommendation of a couple friends. The owner/manager was very welcoming and gracious as we arrived and we took a couple seats at the bar. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Tuscan Rose at a great value. We shared the burrata, fettucine with truffle and sausage, and rack of lamb. Everything was beautiful, fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. Antony was friendly, attentive, and accommodating, the epitome of excellent service and professionalism. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant! More...
My husband and I traveled to Boston from TN last weekend and had the privilege of visiting this beautiful establishment with friends and colleagues. Amazing food. Great service. Our waiter Marco was very attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!
I was walking across the street near 86 Charles St. A woman said come in and have a meal. Her name was Gina and I ended up having the most wonderful experience in an Italian restaurant. From the bruscetti at the beginning to the wonderful desert - which she brought me near the end as a thank you - it was very special. The music, the food, the special attention given. Now when I think of going to an Italian restaurant I think of a wonderful 2 to 3 hour experience unlike any other. More...

My wife and I were in town for the weekend and had to make a stop for our go to Italian restaurant and as always it was fantastic. The waiter seemed a little off, but the service was still good! Attentive and took care of us.
The food was magnificent as always! More...
Food was great and filling , just the waitress we had seemed like she did not know what she was doing , I had to ask her to get bread useally they just bring it , I felt like I had to tell her how to do her job, there was no soft Italian type music but it was a nice little place and great food
Pru, my server was awesome and complimented my dinner perfectly. Great chicken soup and then scallops.
Amazing food n service! The scampi & cauliflower is a MUST! Short rib ravioli was delish
Flawless first experience from start to finish. Spectacular food and impeccable service from bartender Antony. Wish I had taken more pics, but this was the only one. Fettuccine with crumbled sausage and truffle cream. A true gem in a neighborhood full of dining options. More...

Great food, comfortable informal atmosphere.
Great ambiance, fantastic food! Will definitely come back.
It is a very busy place and you can wait for quite awhile but the Italian dishes are great with good service.
Not many veggie options
Great atmosphere, delicious drinks & food.
Very good food, excellent service, good prices. Long wait though, even with reservation.
The food was fantastic as well as our server. Prices were a bit high for what we received, especially the cocktails. But I would recommend to a friend.
Ate at the bar. The bartender (Antony) steered us through 3 courses. PEI Mussels & Veal Parm & Fetticine Norcina. Bon Appetite!!
Eggplant Parmesan was the best ever!!
Good food, nice place. Felt a bit rushed by the waiter.
Got the panini sandwich. Pretty good, but served in a sub roll. Not bad, but a little too much bread. Service was solid.
Awesome atmosphere and delicious food
Great food and service

One of the best places for sandwiches in the North end. I love the eggplants in the sandwiches.
Order the veal parm sandwich to go. Eat it on the piers nearby watching ships and people go by. Phenomenal sub. Absolutely fantastic. Delicious authentic italian experience just off the buzz from Hanover St in the North End. We came with large group before the Boston Marathon. They took reservations and we only had to wait about 10 min until our table was ready for 10 of us, mind you, this was the epic meca to get your carb loading and the place was a mob scene but you never felt that wasy or rushed once being waited on. The waiter even joked around with us and made pleasantries, you could really tell he enjoyed his job and made our experience that much better. More...
Excellent at affordable prices!!!! You must come when visit Boston!!!
Antipastis are awesome, and also it has a great service!
Visited during Dine Out Boston 2014 and do not regret a moment. Will say now that the portions for the price fix menu were much smaller then normal menu items. There was a couple sitting near my group's table and a woman ordered some sort of chicken breast dish. The thing was huge, and she spent an hour picking at it. First Course: Grilled Peach, Ricotta, and Prosciutto BruschettaThis was a great way to start the night. Light, aromatic, flavor upon flavor of pure food-delight. I looked at the normal menu and didn't see it on there which is a shame. A must try if you enjoy sweet and savory together.Second Course: Fettuccine, Scallops, Lobster Meat, Shrimp, Local Corn, Habanero, Lobster StockAt first, I was worried that this was going to be too much food and I wouldn't have any room for dessert. After all, fettuccine is usually accompanied by a sauce that is on the heavy side. This was not the case. The sauce was light with a nice spicy kick from the habanero. Both the scallops and shrimp were cooked to the sort of perfection that would make Gordon Ramsey smile. I regret eating it as fast as I did now; wish there had been more.Third Course: Black Mission Figs, Mascarpone Gelato, Acacia HoneyWords almost fall me in describing how good this was. The gelato had a wonderful texture and flavor. Together with the figs and the honey, this was one dessert I could easily eat again and again.Overall, for $38 (not including the bottle of wine my group split), this was a great place to eat. The food is delicious, the portions are just right, and the atmosphere couldn't be better. More...
Artu is a safe bet for dinner with colleagues or a date. The menu is classic Italian, with many readily-recognizable items that are competently executed. The bar looks like a nice place to have a drink, but the dining area isn't quite as appealing to the eye and the tables are maybe a little too small for the parties that are seated there. Service is friendly and attentive, although a little on the slow side. More...
I've had several business dinners and quite a few personal dinners at Artu. Service is always good, atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is consistently fantastic. It's a favorite of mine in the North End of Boston. More...
Artu is wonderful, There are three sections to the restaurant: Take-out, bar, dining. Depending on your mood and time, you can choose accordingly. Pizzas and sandwiches are great.
I try not to eat at the same restaurant twice in the North End, but Artu may need an exemption from this rule. My date and I both agreed that the food was fantastic Sat night. Appetizer was a ricotta wrapped in eggplant, for dinner she ordered the Fusilli e Salsicce con Broccoli Rabe with Sausage and I got the Pollo Arrabiata. The appetizer was definitely the highlight of the evening. For dinner: pasta was perfectly cooked, my chicken dish was spicy, sauces were not too thick/watery and the portions were a reasonable size (nothing left for lunch the next day). No valet parking for Artu, I valeted my car @Mamma Maria for $25. I'd highly recommend! More...
