Question: Two coffee shops, Starbucks and Intermezzo Espresso Cafe stand almost side by side. How can this be? Both provide excellent coffee. Both provide sandwiches. Both have similar priced menus. Both employ warm, knowledgeable, friendly people.Answer: The kitchen: Intermezzo Rxpresso Cafe hand makes their menu fresh to order. The drinks are done the same way.Starbucks doesn't have a kitchen. The food is prepared outside and delivered daily. When appropriate, the servers heat the item.The result is freshness you can taste.Sometimes, smaller can be better. Just ask Alejandra. This place isn't too far from work so I come by sometimes for lunch when I'm wanting something semi-healthy. They have sandwiches and salads. Today I got the avocado turkey (which I always order) for lunch. It comes with your choice of side (I got chips), a cookie, a pickle, and a mint. The bread on the sandwich is really good. The sandwich comes with turkey, avocado, lettuce, cheese, and sprouts on it. I like that the sandwiches always come dry so you can add whatever condiment you want to it.My only complaint is that the last few times I got lunch from here (today included), the avocado had a lot of brown spots and didn't look super fresh. Best boxed lunches in Richmond! Their lunches are so, so tasty and extremely easy to order online. They have so many different varieties of sandwiches and salads, there is something for every dietary restriction on their menu. Their lunches are competitively priced and come with so much food! I so love that you get a pickle and a peppermint patty with each sandwich. They also deliver, which is wonderful. They are so easy to work with and didn't mind at all when I had to add several lunches once I had already placed my order online. I placed an order of the Cobb salad for delivery and I was really disappointed with what I received. The total came to $15. 12 and for that price I expected a lot more. There was hardly any chicken, the egg looked like ONE mini hard boiled egg. I had to really search to find the bacon. There was more blue cheese crumbles than anything else. I chose this place because of the reviews that ppl gave here. I dont know if my order was treated differently because it was a delivery order and not a face to face order? But this was just terrible for a first time customer. I feel ripped off.Update: James went out of his way to make up for my first experience. He was very professional in his email and even personally delivered a second order. That meant a lot to me and earned additional stars in my book. Way to go James More...

I needed food for a day and a half workshop - breakfasts, lunch, and morning & afternoon snacks. I contacted Apple Spice Junction in Ogden and they bent over backwards to help me pull it off! The event was held in Brigham City, so they let me pick some things up ahead of time and they delivered the rest. I've been meaning to write this post since the day I came in here (2017). I remembered one day my friend and I came pretty early. We got here as they were setting up to open. My friend had already walked into the shop as I stopped to read the hours listed. There was a young man and a woman here. They didn't mind we were early and allowed us to order. The woman, told us all about the drinks they offered. My friend ordered a Cali (or perhaps they call it California?). I thought it was going to be overly sweet when I tried it, but it was very delicious. White chocolate and caramel. I was very intrigued to try the Chocolate Orange. I asked a question in my head: Would it taste like the chocolate orange I buy around the holidays at Trader Joe's? The answer I received after my first sip: Yes. Hands down an amazing creation. Every once in a while I go there in the morning before class, and I take time to look at the menu. So many drinks sound delicious, but I always impulsively buy an iced chocolate orange. Recently, March 7th (Thursday), I went with my friend again. I really motivated myself to try a new drink. The decision came down between the Funky Monkey, the lavender & coconut, and the cherry & amaretto flavored latte. It contained all my favorite flavors: coconut, banana, and chocolate. I was excited to taste this and after my first sip, I felt unsure. This latte had reminded me of a fried banana...which is in no way a bad thing. I love fried bananas! Just not in the morning. It was a decent taste, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Next time for sure I'll be trying the lavender & coconut latte. You'll see me again! Also, I loved how the three workers (I think they are family, but I'm not 100% sure) communicated with each other as they worked to make the drinks. The drinks didn't take very long to make.
