Overall, everything about this business is great. Things run smoothly, staff usually get along well, most of the work is fun, you get to see dozens of dogs every day, etc. As long as you're a dog person, are willing to occasionally do things like clean up after the dogs, and keep on top of what you're suppose to be doing, you will love and excel in this job. Being a 'kennel worker' position with little to no experience required, I think some people apply thinking they will get paid to play with puppies all day. Then when they are asked to put in some hard work, actually run around and be active with the dogs, sanitize kennels at the end of the night... they realize maybe the job isn't going to be as easy as they thought. 90% of the negative comments I see made about working here are from former employees who just didn't want to put in the effort. Wanted to sit and barely pay attention during daycare. Didnt want to pick up dog dirt outside. Etc. One manager can be a bit tough, but if you are doing your job to the best of your abilities and keeping the pups happy and safe, you'll be fine. New HR has brought huge improvements to the way things run, and this is a place that has grown RAPIDLY, and whose owner is looking constantly for ways to make things even safer / bigger / more fun. apple creek kennel was a great place to work. the staff was friendly, the place is clean. the work wasn't always fun, but needed to be done. I was let go due to lack of work in the winter. if they needed me, I would go back in a heartbeat. More...
