I would like to leave a warning to any students of animation or anyone looking to get a foot in the door. sadly stay away from "Animate for the Cel of It" and Richard Solomon
. He is a very personable person who will offer an internship or bring you on board promising pay after projects are completed. Sadly the work will end but the pay will never come, he will give excuse after excuse and slowly cancels work meetings until he ghosts you completely. Not a single member of our team of 11 received any payment for work. Speaking to past employees of his, this has been a practice of his for a few years now. The Location of his studio is also no longer active, its been long abandoned. Please research the company before you work for him, or decide to get work from him. KNOW THAT THE ANIMATORS ARE NOT PAID.

“Make animation with all your heart and love and you will succeed” – it is the first thing that Rick teaches in his courses. I take animation classes for beginners and I really like the presentation of the material and, most importantly, the result. Rick perfectly explains everything and finds the right approach to learning, his lectures are clearly structured. He is a charming and positive person, he dilutes the lectures with jokes, a lot of references and living examples. He loves animation with all his heart and it is very inspiring! I hope that I will have the opportunity to come to California and take some lessons face-to-face P.S. I`m living in Moscow, that`s why I did it on Russian language too. «Делай анимацию с душой и подходи с любовью к делу и тогда у тебя все получится»- именно этому учит Рик на своих курсах. Я обучаюсь на курсе анимации для начинающих и мне очень нравится подача материала и самое главное- результат. Все разложено по полочкам, лекции четко структурированы, Рик отлично все объясняет и находит правильный подход к обучению. Он обаятельный и позитивный человек, на его лекциях не может быть скучно, ведь он разбавляет их шутками, множеством референсов и живых примеров. Just went here for their animation parties they do on Saturdays. What an amazing experience and I would recommend this studio to anyone who is passionate about animation.
I hope this studio continues on for many many years to come, and I know it will because of the great work they produce.
