Their cakes are made the old-fashioned way -- with fresh ingredients which includes butter. I treat myself to a slice of cake each week. The icing is buttercream. You can taste the butter. They are a bit pricey, about $5 a slice, but I will say that you get a nice sized piece. If you are looking for a good, local bakery, give Amoroso's a try. More...

If you're looking for a cozy, inviting place that will also satisfy your craving for something sweet, this is the joint! This review is for the cupcakes only as I haven't tried anything else. I also haven't been to the High Point location.Their specialty cupcakes (pricey at 3. 50) are the most moist cupcake I have tried in Greensboro (yes I have been to the joints on Battleground, Lawndale, and New Garden). Still feel this way each time. Flavors tried are Cookies & Cream, Butter Pecan, Black Forest, and Strawberry Red Velvet. I have tried other seasonal ones but the ones listed are a go-to. Most enamored with Black Forest and Strawberry Red Velvet. Moist, rich excellence. Bakeries will vary by taste and preference. I came in before closing and was overwhelmed with all of the options but picked a couple of winners to take home. I'm not a very big sweets person, like I wouldn't have ever come here of my own volition, but since I found myself here, I just had to test a couple of safe bets. The counter girls were so kind and helpful. I went with the German Chocolate Cupcake and a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake for my wife. My wife's cheesecake tasted great. It seems like it's a sour cream base instead of cream cheese, I could be wrong, but it just had a flavor that would be excellent if there was a sweet fruit topping smothering it, so next time we'll get some topping put on it. My cupcake on the other hand: OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. Like I said, I don't have a sweet tooth, but holy guacamole I INHALED my cupcake. I could never work here because I'd be eating the frosting out of a tub all day. I'm scared knowing that these sweet chocolate delicacies are sitting behind glass only a 5 minute drive away from home. Have enjoyed a delicious cupcake here a time or two. My only gripe is that your website says you offer Apple Crisp, Banana Nut, Blueberry, Lemon Poppy, Pumpkin, or Raspberry muffins baked daily. Made a special trip from the airport over to your Hunt Club location to buy muffins and the employee at the counter said muffins were not sold here, only cupcakes and couldn’t refer me to anyone that did sell them. Amoroso's Bakery is always a solid choice for your sweet tooth cravings! Â Having gone to their other location over the years, I was surprised and happy at this location popping up on my phone! Their cakes are to die for, although the smaller version in cupcake form is nice too!Their cheesecakes are good, but there's a more credible version in town that I appreciate more.Last night I tried a Haystack that was good, but it was a bit hard to bite through which I'm not into doing for a dessert.The Butter Pecan cake was absolutely insane!
