I live in NY, and I’m yet to find a South Indian Chettinad style food here which is as good as home. This place comes by far the closest of the ones I’ve tried in the US. Must try.

Great South Indian food. Sambhar was very authentic. Idli and Onion Masala Dosa were great. Also got Gulab Jamun which was delicious. It's on the Chestnut Hill so parking can be a chore. We we're lucky to find street parking right across the restaurant. Otherwise I think they provide coupon for a parking that charges $17.50. Overall a good experience and would go there again. More...

Love the food here. It’s better to book a table prior to your visit as they are always crowded, specially during the lunch time. My favorites are Masala vada, Sambhar rice and desserts. I’m not a fan of the thali’s though. Good service and helpful staff. More...

Outstanding meal at a very reasonable price. Everything we had was delicious. The fish fry was amazing, but be careful because it has bones in it. I learned that fact by impaling the roof of my mouth a little bit. I had the goat thellasery and it was the best goat I've ever had. Wow, been a whole year since our first Amma's experience, and our love for this place has only grown. We now come almost every week for either lunch or dinner and have only had one or two issues throughout the year with the service being a little on the slow side. For the most part, service is perfectly fine. There are times when they are understaffed and overworked, but you're going to get that anywhere, and the food more than makes up for it. The food has gotten BETTER since we began going to Amma's... Believe it or not! And I've tried almost every curry on the menu, extra spicy. We found this place by chance after wandering around the city trying to find a place with little to no wait for an early Friday night dinner.
