I have been a customer here for over 5 years! I found this shop through my work, we do a lot of business with them! And anytime that something needs to be picked up. .. I ALWAYS volunteer to go and get it so I can get some of their delicious chocolates!! And I have never been disappointed! Believe me, my work calls are not the only time I go... I do my best to stop by anytime I am in the area... even if I tell myself its just for one piece! Here's a little secret... I never get just one!! Walking in, for me, is the best part! It certainly smells like a chocolate factory and there is nothing wrong with that! They have a LARGE assortment of all types of chocolates in many different shapes and forms and they have a huge selection of different types of clusters, truffles and just chocolate covered stuff haha! Fillings can include ganaches, caramels, nuts and even toffee!! Not sure what you want? They can certainly help you figure it out! I honestly don't have a favorite. Every time I go, I try to get something different and sometimes they even have free samples! My pictures do not do this place justice, and I need to remember to take better ones! But I am always so excited about the chocolate that I forget about pictures!! Behind the counter they have a work station, so you can see how they do some of the magic! This place caught my attention as I was leaving Panera bread and was heading to my car. Since I have a love for chocolates I decided to visit the store to see how they might differ from the numerous chocolate stores I've been to. I'm happy to say this place is top notch. First the layout of the store was breathtaking. It was very organized and it seemed that in every corner there was something unique that you wanted to try. I settled for 2 large boxes of assorted Chocolates, 2 of the big chocolates on a stick with the Superman and happy anniversary logo, a few gold coins and white chocolate truffles. Second the chocolates were delicious because they were creamy and not too sweet. I often find many of the chocolates to be too sweet such as at Sees candies, Rocky Mountain, Harry and David, so I was pleasantly surprised the chocolate here had the right amount of sweetness. I found this true San Antonio gem yesterday - first time ever visiting to pick up a dozen chocolates for my birthday! The factory associate was super helpful answering my questions about each of the chocolates. He was also very patient as I made my decisions as the selection was vast. The aroma of chocolate pleasantly kicks you in the face as you walk in. They sell custom boxes for every holiday and also have ice cream! The presentation of the chocolates was beautiful, neat, clean, and each offering was easily identifiable. Excellent customer service!  Great advice on what to choose and LOTS of choices of outstanding chocolate candies, fudge, and great ice cream.  We were offered a taste of their chocolate when we walked in, and then helped on all our selections.  I tried the cherry ice cream (excellent) and got sea salt caramel fudge (one of the best if not the best I've ever had) and soft center candies to go.  I can't wait to go back and try some new selections, as well as buy some more of the same candies again.  Our daughter told us about this place, and it's one of our new favorite places to go for treats with our daughter and our grandson. My mom saw this chocolate factory on KSAT 12 one night right before Christmas. We had just finished shopping at Bandera Pointe shopping center at the Kohl's and Hallmark. I said let's check this place out. It's in between Baskin Robbins and Panera Bread at The Vineyard shopping center off 1604 and Blanco Rd. It smells like Godiva when you walk in the store. They have a wide variety of chocolates. They have chocolate covered nuts in milk and dark as well as oreos, pretzels and even chocolate covered fruit. They also have ice cream, 9 different flavors. The owner, Lisa Smith gave me a sample of their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, delicious.As we were leaving, her husband Scott came in to help her run the business. Nice people. I saw that they have been in business since 2005, that was 12 years ago. They must do good business because they sure didn't seem too busy when we were there earlier. We walked in at 12:15pm and you'd think that during lunch hour, they'd be packed with customers.Lisa told us she tries to take Wednesday and Thursday off so that she can be ready for the weekend. This place has decent hours. They are open 10am-8pm Monday-Saturday and 12pm-5pm on Sunday. This is a fine place to get your chocolates, but you will be paying a price. The prices of this place are comparable to Godiva and they have more variety than Godiva, but not as much as See's Candy. The selection of this place is in between the two.I think that this place is in a good location, but you really have to be watching because if you aren't looking you will pass it. Now this review is for their ice cream! If you check in here, you get 50% off a scoop of ice cream! I choose the latter and went for two scoops. Flavor 1 was cookies and cream and flavor 2 was cherry. Both were delicious, but the cookies and cream won me over! The cherry had chucks of cherries and cookies and cream had chunks of oreos. I mean really, what's not to love about that? They make their ice cream homemade and it's the perfect amount of sweetness, so you really get a taste of the ice cream and not get hit with an overabundance of sugar. The prices for the ice cream is a small for $3.00, medium for $5.00 and I think the large was $6.00. Again, the owners are super nice and informative about their products and we always get a friendly goodbye and a come back soon greeting. Went there today and purchased an assortment box with my choice of chocolates.  They have a wonderful choice of chocolates for everyone and my husband and I had a hard time deciding what to get since he likes milk chocolate and I like both milk and dark. We got an awesome selection containing nuts, ganache, fruit and peanut butter and our 3 year old loved them too. Always the best products and customer service! I have been relying on Schakolad for all my Valentine's, Birthday, or Anniversary gifts. This little gem is nestled away in the vineyard shopping center. I was having a "me day" and decided to splurge on some desserts the other day and was pleasantly surprised to find this small shop. If you check in here on yelp you get half off of a small ice cream. I got a cup of the cookies and cream, which is freshly made in the shop and I really liked it. The ice cream was velvety and smooth and definitely tasted fresh.I also got two truffles: the Raspberry Ganache and Milk Truffle. They were absolutely to die for. The raspberry ganache was very rich and creamy. The milk truffle was chewy like nougat which I was not expecting but was very tasty.I cannot wait to go back here and try some other truffles and spoil myself some more. More...
