Excellent high quality food and the high prices match the high quality. Its total worth it to me. I have been going here for years for specialty foods or to treat myself.

I'm actually here to give a review to the floral department :) Most people probably don't think of AJ's as doing wedding floral. But, they do! And they do a GREAT job and they're really affordable compared to other florists rates (trust me). My friend got married and I asked about her bouquets and she said AJ's and I was shocked! So of course when I was planning my wedding I looked into it and sure happy I did! My bouquets and boutonnieres came out beautifully! I got so many compliments on them! Staff is friendly. I definitely go for the sales and specials- like the recent 50% off all steaks. While this store is always excellent, yesterday they went above and beyond the call of duty.  Needing ground or shredded beef suet for a dinner party recipe featured on the Today Show, I called everywhere to no avail.  My husband suggested AJ's and we hit pay dirt.  Marco in the meat department told me he could have it for me in 10 minutes, and he did.  It's exactly what's needed for this recipe and HE DIDN'T CHARGE US!  Marco told us that these are usually scraps that are discarded and he didn't feel right putting a price tag on it.  Kudos to Marco and to AJ's for employing such a great guy.  We're already devoted customers but you've impressed us yet again. So I used to go here all the time! I have never bought anything from here besides Tea and their to go meals! But you can get their 32 oz iced teas for $1. 50 (plus tax) that’s soooo inexpensive for tea. And there are so many flavors and you can get an orange in them. Their cookies are wonderful and super chewy! I recommend their butter cookie! Ah so good! Their breakfast burritos are super good too! Walked in to the bakery to order a cake at lunch time and they were slammed. To my surprise I was still helped instantly with a warm smile. Ordered the birthday cake double layer for my daughters 8th birthday. Was able to customize the frosting to pink for no additional charge. It was AMAZING will always order my cakes from here. I ordered party platters from AJ's for a large gathering; about 40 people. The trays were put together beautifully, loaded generously, the best looking fruits, meats, cheeses and olives. The spinach dip with bread was a guest favorite and went fast. My order was on time for the specified pickup. I stopped in and got fresh flowers before picking up they trays from the bistro. This isn't your typical grocery store. This is the store you run to when you get a call from your husband calls you and says that his boss is coming over for dinner! AJ's may be one of my favorite grocery stores of all time! I'm so happy I discovered this gem and that it's close to my job! First off, AJ's is immaculate in cleanliness and organization, but somehow still feels very homey... Second, AJ's offer a lot from floral to specialty meats to bakery to gifts to general grocery items. They also offer a fairly large hot food area that boasts a soup bar, salad bar, sushi, sandwiches, pizza, and more. I go to AJ's at least once a week for lunch! The bakery section is also very impressive. I usually try not to glance over there because I know I will probably leave with 2 cakes that I don't need. The reason for the 4 stars is ONLY because of the guy that cooks outside was having a bad day or maybe doesn't like his job. .... either way, he really needs to have a better attitude; friendly would be nice. AJ's Fine Foods is a grocery store you'll want to enjoy. I am the quintessential run in and out grocery shopper and even I find myself pursuing the aisles surprised and delighted by the items here. I think they shine in the bakery and prepared foods. Whenever I'm in a potluck pinch the prepared food here gets me out of it! They also have a terrific coffee with the loyalty program as well. You can enjoy your coffee and perhaps a baked good on their windowed patio so you can enjoy the sights without sweating it out. I tend to go to their patio to meet friends and we can all grab a bite or a drink of our choice without anyone having to concede to eat/drink something they don't want. You want coffee? No prob! Besides loving everything about A J's I was not aware they had a cigar humidor. What else can you ask for. Their liquor selection is GREAT so now you can pair the liquor with a cigar on the spot. Love it

I come here usually in the afternoon when I want to pick up some lunch because they have amazing sandwiches that are made to order. The Deli is awesome and the service is the best. A j's has been around forever and ever and it seems like they do such a great job that everyone keeps coming back because there's always a wait and people have to take a number to get service but the food is so good that it's well worth it. All employees are so nice and friendly. Feels like a whole foods with safeway prices. Highly recommend california chicken at the food area, they have grapes in it and somehow make it tastes so delicious. Highly recommend this location. I was being indecisive at the bakery and the young gal who was helping me was so sweet and patient. Then went and had sushi made by Tuyet N. and she was extremely helpful even though I was indecisive as usual. She was super friendly and had great positive energy that made my sushi experience truly amazing. I had better service eating sushi here than at high end sushi restaurants that cost more. Grass Fed Steaks, Unique Products, Best Grocery experience   I realize this may be considered UPSCALE for Tucson and it is a beautiful place to shop, but it is along the lines of Whole Foods in pricing but way better for your butcher and seafood needs. Joel in the meat dept is great. There are several of our favorites, but he is always happy to deliver whatever you need, you just have to ask. The seafood quality, chicken and beef is the best in Tucson, in my opinion, much better than Whole Foods. The store is beautiful, the gift dept always fresh, fun and seasonal. The Papyrus greeting and gift card selection is better than the actual Papyrus store in La Encantada which always amazes me. They have all the exotic foods you need for those recipes, local selections of all products you love at the Farmer's Market, and a great organic dept. Not the largest organic dept but they give it a great effort. The organics are nice and fresh and they will have upscale organics from time to time. You can almost make a morning or lunch at AJ's because they also have a huge prepared food dept with a sushi bar, hamburger grill sometimes, fresh made pizza, bakery and coffee bar and plenty of places to sit on the patio and visit with friends or alone. Very nice inside and they have a great seafood counter where you can buy fresh fish which is rare for Arizona. I bought Halibut here which was excellent and I'm from the East Coast so I know fresh seafood and this was very fresh. A bit expensive but it's more of a market where you just grab a few things because if you did your grocery shopping here you would spend a ridiculous amount of money. This review is for the drinks they serve.Their drinks are reasonable priced and there is a great selection.  Another big plus is the seating outside is the best.  I always go with a friend and we sit and talk for an hour or so.  So far I have tried several of their teas. Many more to try.  The drink orders are taken at the bakery and your will most times need to take a number and wait your turn.
