I've been seeing Dr Mark half a yr now and am happy as ever. I had an interesting experience today that surprised me: awhile back I'd strained my left elbow and have been trying to stay off it to let it heal up. But last night I picked up some heavy luggage w/o thinking and re-injured it. Its been a little sore since then. Wish I'd have just dropped the luggage on my head and taught myself a lesson! Â Â When I went in today for a treatment session, I mentioned it so Dr also treated it, saying this would likely help with the pain right away. Sure enough, some of the pain had subsided by the time we were done. Â Â As we're now full-on into the holiday season, I'm already tired of all the ads, commercials, and other attempts to sell you shit! Dayum! Â Been coming here for 3 couple months and it just keeps getting better and better! Â My whole life I've been 'that guy with the unusual health problems', a couple are ones you've never even heard of. Know what its like to grow up knowing others in your life whisper 'maybe he's just one of those people who makes up fictitious illnesses'? Â Yep, that was me....not fun! Â Â When I saw his groupon offer and his 'best in the nation' type award several yrs running, I knew I had to give him a try. Â Â Â After great initial success with my main problem, Dr Mark has gradually added on treatment for other issues I have. The 4th and most recent is my temperature sensitivity. My whole life I've only been comfortable at only the exact temperature for me, so I'd often feel too cold or too hot. (No, its not my thyroid...not that traditional western medicine has been able to determine, anyways) Â I can still remember being a young boy and always having my pockets full of kleenex cause I'd always have a runny nose from feeling too cold. And continually putting on then taking off my jacket as I began feeling too cold or too warm. Â Â Â I've never found a medicine or treatment, traditional or alternative, that would cure me of my temperature sensitivity, though I've been looking for one since childhood. Nor has anyone even been able to diagnose what causes it. But last month, since we'd been so successful treating my other 3 issues, it dawned on me to ask if he might be able to help with this one, too. He added in additional needlepoints for this issue, and sure enough...it started to go away! Its now been about a month and a half and my sensitivity has declined 50%. I'd given up hope that I'd ever find a cure for my weird temperature sensitivity issue; its just a miracle that I've finally found the solution, and its so low-cost, simple, and safe. Â Â Its just amazing to me that I came in hoping for help for my main health problem and am now getting help for FOUR...and all for the same price, too! I've been doing massage therapy for 10yrs and suffer from chronic back pain which affected the quality of my work. I discovered Dr. Marc and got a Accupuncture and Cupping treatment. I came in for a treatment on my wrist since I was experiencing some pains due to carpal tunnel and extensive usage of the computer during an extended visit to Honolulu. Marc assessed me by having me fill out a questionnaire and following up with some questions. He additionally discovered that I also experience insomnia from time to time and treated me for that as well. The entire experience was effortless and easy. I feel asleep and woke up feeling really relaxed and felt zero discomfort. I've been to other Chinese acupuncturists before and sometimes I find it hard to communicate with them since English is not their first language. Not only is Marc's English great, he is really knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure I got the treatment I needed. I found Acupuncture Arts to be a relaxing, clean and inviting space. Marc has helped me each time I have an appointment. He is very professional and knowledgeable. On my first visit I was asked to fill out a form regarding history and what I'd like addressed. Marc and I then went over everything in his office. I felt he was very thorough; I never felt rushed. I used Groupon to find this gem. I have felt that other businesses treat you differently when you go through Groupon. However, I didn't feel that with Marc. Now located just across the former location on Bishop Street at the very top level 'P'enthouse!Marc's quick diagnosis and approach is very effective. Â He uses a unique blend of delicate oils called Yukjah and rubs it on your tender spots after your acupressure treatment, which is very soothing and relaxing. I came to the clinic because I was suffering from "Frozen Shoulder" it was extremely painful for several months and just getting worse everyday. I had been in so much chronic pain and had tried so many different options from Western medicine, physical therapy, massage, heat therapy, and I was about to try extreme cold therapy. But I went to the acupuncture arts clinic and met Marc. Within 3 treatments of acupuncture and cupping I was 95% better. Marc's very professional and knows his stuff. Very good at diagnosing your issue and offers Acupuncture and  Chinese herbs to help with what ever symptoms you are having (an alternative to taking over the counter or prescribed pills). An acupuncture session with Marc is one of the Best I've had compared to the others I've been to. Marc is a really good at what he does. He cares for his patients. I been taking his herbs and it's been helping my health better then before! I've gotten treatments for my lower back, my cold/allergies and stress levels from him and i can tell you right now.. I had a great experience at Marc's clinic. It was my first time for acupuncture and I was coming in for a general tune up. I have a 2 year old and keep catching colds and generally was feeling a little less healthy.After three treatment sessions I have been feeling better. Sleeping better, less generalized aches and pains and despite my wife coming down with a cold I didn't catch the bug!One thing I noticed was that I was very sleepy in the evening after the treatments and after the first one I had vivid dreams. They have various therapists there; I see Shelly Denny. Â Shelly has two locations: one location in Honolulu and the other is location is Waialua. Â Both locations are great but I prefer the Waialua location. She is thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. Â She knows her stuff! I've had acupuncture from a number of different practitioners, in Honolulu, Toronto, and New York, and Marc is among the best I've experienced. Â He's very good at considering your whole situation in terms of yin/yang and 5 Phases diagnosis, so he's not treating the symptoms, but their underlying causes.I've been getting treatments from Marc from the time that he was at the student clinic at the Institute for Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a few blocks from his new offices. Â I just had my first treatment in his new space when I was back in Honolulu recently, and it was terrific - probably the nicest treatment space (in terms of being clean and quiet) that I've been to in town, and we had a good session. Â Another great thing about his new clinic is that he's working with an herbalist with decades of experience, so together they can prescribe very sophisticated formulae.
