This place was super busy! They have live music which is amazing! The bar isn't that pretty so we opted to sit on the patio. Great place to people watch

It's dinner time and every restaurant at South Beach was full. We were trying our luck and they happened to have a table inside. Whoo-hoo! This was our first time visiting this establishment. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were seated early. The service was excellent. Everyone from the waitstaff to the managers were very friendly and prompt. The food presentation was beautiful and the food itself was delicious. Prices on the menu varied, but were reasonable for a higher end dining establishment. The portion sizes were just right. Our waiter had at least 10 tables he was servicing, but did a great job keeping up with everyone's orders and not looking frazzled. One of the best meals we had in South Beach! Superior quality food served by excellent staff in a fun Deco dining room. Very nice wine list. Live Latin guitar music at a reasonable volume. The atmosphere is absolutely to die for. We chose to sit outside. People watching. The food is delicious. We had the shrimp cocktail, crab cake and spinach. I had the lollipop mojito. Excellent dinner, as I have had in the past. Surprised when bill came with 18% gratuity added for a party of 4. The only downside was that there was a 2% “resort fee” added for having dinner only!

Fantastic! Exactly what I wanted for a 15 year wedding anniversary dinner. Not only right on the beach but Security was there so we had no concerns about our personal items. It was about $400 for the five of us but completely worth it. Between the Paella and the kids filet mignon it was superb. From the doorman to the personalize service it's worth every penny. We wanted seafood while staying in South Beach. Based on the Yelp reviews we decided on Avalon. It was very good, the live music during dinner was enjoyable and sitting on the terrace allowed for excellent views of the pedestrians walking by.
