Claire and everyone at the Sunset Temple were instrumental in making our wedding spectacular. First of all the venue itself is gorgeous with its stage, balcony, and vintage vibes. It is truly a hidden gem in North Park. The venue itself has so much character to start with and Claire generously added additional table decorations to make things fit together beautifully. We had the ceremony and the reception in the same space so the balcony was the perfect place for the cocktail hour. From up there the guests could mingle while Claire’s amazing staff worked to seamlessly transition the main floor and set all the tables and decorate everything. Everything was done and set up well within the hour for over 120 people. During the dancing portion of the wedding was where Claire really went way above and beyond. We had bought all the alcohol for the reception and we had run out of Southern Comfort near the beginning of the night! Claire went to the store in the middle of the party and got us two more bottles to keep the party going! No one asked her to do this she just seamlessly made our night perfect. She was always there with suggestions for how to make the party more awesome, including a late night snack of nachos. Me and my husband highly recommend the Sunset Temple and working with Claire on your special day, she and her team were so friendly, easy to work with, supportive, generous, and efficient. I had my wedding here and it was an amazing venue. Randy and the rest of the staff were so efficient! Everything went off without a hitch and the built in sound and lighting was flawless! The staff was 2 steps ahead of me at all times and every time I asked if something had been taken care of the answer was always 'yes already done' They also helped us load up our cars at the end of the night! After having our wedding here, I called Sunset Temple a "pillar of the community."Though it sounds a little hyperbolic, I'm not wrong! Sunset Temple is a super special community event center hosting church services, events, weddings and so much more. North Park is better with it here and you should most definitely book something with them.It's beautiful on the inside (held about 130 people for our 1920s themed wedding) and it has a vintage-y type feel to it.The staff is amazing too, and Randy is truly a legend. He's an amazing event coordinator whose energy is contagious. Without him, our wedding wouldn't have been such a fun time!Now, our wedding is a night that we'll always remember. Hosted our company holiday party here- it was SO simple, and so stress free. Met with Claire and her assistant Lesly, told them my budget and what we were hoping for, and the ladies took care of everything. The building is AMAZING- truly a North Park hidden gem. It's vintage vibe and the cool history (it began as a department store) are evident in the details- from the beautiful stage to the door knobs! Claire has made some awesome upgrades, too- a renovated balcony, beautiful chandeliers... And as many chairs, tables, couches, etc. as you could dream of. They made us this cool photobooth onstage, with an accent couch. Our staff had the BEST time- Sunset Temple even provided a bartender, barback, and sound tech to keep drinks in our hands and tunes for the dancefloor. We will absolutely be back, and I cannot recommend Claire and her veteran team of party helpers enough. Claire recommended we cater with the URBN pizza truck, which was SO cool- it's a travelling woodfire pizza oven, and you won't believe it til you see it. Really reasonably priced food, and delicious- prepared right on the spot, fresh from the oven. Unbeatable. Beautiful space, lovely staff, and a totally stress free party. This venue is absolutely amazing and my wedding was absolutely perfect. It was beautiful, elegant, romantic, unique to us, and was exactly what I envisioned in my head. The space is gorgeous, unique, vintage, and loaded with character. I received compliments all night about the venue.

The staff is incredible. Eddie made sure that everything went so beautifully and smoothly on our day, but he also was so attentive and involved from the day we met all the way up to our actual day. He made sure our day was perfect. Todd is the space manager, and he helped create the environment in exactly the specifications I desired and then ran all the tech the evening of including putting on a light show for us to accompany our band. Claire owns the building and she is so personable and wants you to have the most amazing day of your life and does everything she can to be sure it happens. The venue rental encompasses tables, chairs, lounge furniture, set up, staff, sound system, linens, china, flatware, and for extra they'll do your catering too. Claire booked our caterer and I received so many compliments on the food. Plus, any changes or adjustments you want to make they will accommodate. They have no vendor restrictions and they also know a bunch of vendors if you don't know who to hire.

My fiance knew he wanted to marry me here the second we walked upstairs. We didn't even look at other venues!Claire and Randy made our wedding day so perfect and seamless! I met with Claire and Randy multiple times during the seven months of planning and we ensured every single detail was covered; seating, lighting, music, set-up, getting ready, food, etc. After seven months of logistical hell, I could not have ever hoped for everything to come together as perfectly as it did, and it was all thanks to Claire and Randy (and Todd, Patrick, and Yvonne)!MULTIPLE times when I was trying to help set up or worry about where things were or stress over some other detail, Randy had to stop me in my tracks and assure me that they would have it covered, and they did! He actually FORCED me to RELAX and ENJOY my day! Everyone noticed how great of a job they did, and I strongly recommend that you have your event here! I wish I could give this place more stars.They deserve so much more. I had my mother's Celebration of Life here on Sunday March 13,2018. This place was absolutely stunning when Claire, Todd and Randy decorated for the party. The food was fantastic,the ambience was perfect. Everyone whom attended was in ahhh! I cannot say enough great things about this venue, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to host an event in the San Diego area! !! From the second I saw the venue, I fell in love with it! It has a wonderful vintage charm but can be transformed for any theme.Even more than just the beautiful space, the owner Claire and Randy are AMAZING to work with! I was planning a semi-formal event for about 100 college students on a very tight budget. They went above and beyond (helped us book transportation and the DJ and they included staff, set up, clean up, and even Italian sodas/water in our venue fee) to help us!! They were easy accessible to talk to whenever I had questions. I was able to drop off food for the event the day before and they had everything wonderfully set up the day of. We had our corporate holiday party at the Sunset Temple and truly could not have asked for a better venue and venue staff to work with.  For our 100+ guests, the venue was the perfect size for our party, offering both a large downstairs dining area and upstairs lounge area.  It was intimate, classy, and had nice historical charm to it. Claire, the venue owner, and her team decorated the venue so beautifully with holiday decorations.  I noticed as our guests walked in they would say thing like, "wow, this is so nice!" or "what a cool venue!"  I really liked how the venue has a small stage, which worked great for our executive to give a speech/toast, for our raffle, and for our entertainer (a magician) to perform.  The location is right in the heart of North Park, which made it a great area for our guests to hang out before and after the event.   Parking is not a problem because the Sunset Temple is only a couple of blocks away from the large parking structure with very reasonable rates (we arranged with Claire to have our guests' parking tickets validated, which was a nice touch that our guests appreciated).   Besides providing us with an awesome venue, Claire helped us find an excellent caterer (Brother's Catering) and offered her help with finding a DJ, photobooth, and entertainment all within our budget.  Thanks to Claire and her team, and the hidden gem of a place that the Sunset Temple is, our event committee received high praises from our company President and several other employees, saying it was our best holiday party yet!  Needless to say, I highly recommend the Sunset Temple as an event venue and hope to host and/or attend events there in the future. Not only is this venue beautiful with a classic vintage touch, but Claire and her team, Randy & Todd, are amazing people to work with. The reason for my San Diego trip was to witness and be in two of my good friends wedding at Sunset Temple. I was fortunate enough to have one of my bucket list item be crossed out to be a bridesmaid (lol). Hearing stories of this venue when they booked it, they made it sound like a huge hall but, when you view the California/Miami Vice colored building you wouldn't know how gorgeous and intimately roomy the interior is. Our wedding coordinator Lesly Hernandez and the surrounding staff were the best and there is absolutely nothing negative about these kind and hard-working individuals. The best team you can ask for to help you coordinate your wedding. Lesly helped us coordinate everything from walking down the aisle, informing us that we're ahead of schedule to meet early for the grand entrance, when she was short staffed she handled the bar area herself, and made sure everything ran as smoothly and on time as can be. Her amazing team even packed and boxed all of our centerpieces, signs, and decorations for an easy move. Amazing!The staff came out and helped us move all of our wedding things including bringing out wheeled carts for easy transitions from the venue to the car and helping us move our keg with their dolly. They made the transition of setting up, being punctual (even early), to taking down and moving out with as little problem and hassle one can only dream of. The venue is great for an intimate wedding. They provide all the electronics you may need and have no problems answering questions you may have. On the stage area they have a projector where you can display your monogram, slide show, video, or whatever you may want to display. The engineer was a great help with providing information for best color scheme and dimension when i had to create the monogram. He also didn't hesitate to ask when he needed help with  the slideshow... as we try to figure out what was wrong with the file trusted us enough to step aside and let us figure it out (thank goodness we did). The venue have 3 floors, the newly renovated and carpeted basement where one side of the wedding can get ready. It isn't well ventilated and gets really hot but, they were kind enough to bring in a A/C to keep us cool. The stage and entrance area where of course all the action happens with seating (for us seating then dining) there is also a nice sized bar area in the back. And the balcony where the other wedding party got dressed and later converted to a a lounge/social area while the staff set the dining tables. The establishment decor and just the surrounding is just beautiful but dim (your photographer may need to set up a flash sync).Another fun idea is that the location is located right next to the large North Park sign. You can request to go to the roof during sunset or when the sign is lit and take a awesome wedding couple photo incorporating the sign. My bestfriend's wedding at Sunset Temple was a once in a life time fairy tale moment.  The decorations were stunning with fresh flowers and chandeliers.  Claire is one of the nicest people we know.  Her staff provided us an excellent service and everything was as expected for one of my favorite girls on her big day.I feel a little envious that this wedding venue is much better than the one I had.  My husband and I are planning to celebrate our 10th year anniversary here by Claire because of her great personality.  Thank you Sunset Temple!
