We were planning to purchase a piano, so of course, we visited a couple of piano stores. As part of our learning experience, we listened to the sales staff describing their products. Since we had very limited knowledge about pianos, we read many informative accounts on the internet. Although the internet is a very valuable source of information, one of the best sources is a knowledgable person - a piano sales person. When we visited the Piano Centre, we were approached by a gentleman - Brent Hay. Brent came across as a very friendly and very knowledgeable piano salesperson. Since we were ‘short’ on piano information, Brent gave us very detailed information about pianos. He was patient in answering all our questions - no matter how trivial. His presentation gave us a ‘beginners’ foundation’ to make a decision to purchase a baby grand Essex piano. My wife, Pearl, is the piano ‘student’ so I must quote her words:”I am delighted with the new ‘toy’ and anticipate to make piano playing my new ‘vocation’ when I retire.” We highly recommend Brent to anyone who may be planning to purchase a piano.

Voice lessons transfer easily to an online format. For piano lessons, students should have access to a keyboard or piano in their home for online lessons to work best.
We installed an air filtration system on the house with increased air exchange, HEPA filters, and UV lights. In every teaching studio, we have placed small air purifiers that all have HEPA filters and UV lights, as well as plexiglass dividers. Hand sanitizer stations have been included, and we have staggered our lesson times to ensure that there is no overlap between students at the entrance. Lastly, all teachers and students are required to wear masks, as per Alberta Health Services guidelines for workplaces.
