My name is Saro Boghozian and I am the owner of Jonah’s Ark Doggie Centre in North Vancouver where I run and operate my own dog playcare plus I provide dog training using “play and praise” dog training system. I operate this tail-wagging business alongside my wife, Yoko and my Beagle, Harvey. We recently lost our older dog, Jonah the Beagle, who we had named our business after in his honor.

I completely 100% recommend Carolyn! Noble and I have been working with her since Oct 2018 and have done private sessions, 2 focus classes and continue to take freestyle classes. I found the focus classes to be very informative and I've personally learned valuable skills from them that have helped improve my handling skills. Freestyle class is fun and unique. Noble also enjoys this class so much and I can see it in the way that he works so hard every time. Carolyn's also spent a significant amount of time with me after class, helping me through issues and has never made me feel like I'm impeding on her. She is caring and knowledgeable and knows dog behavior and body language very well. If you need a knowledgeable and caring trainer, I highly recommend her!
Hearts and Hounds Dog Training
Hearts and Hounds Dog Training provides positive, reward-based training for puppies from 7 weeks old to "golden-agers." We offer classes, private sessions, day training, and more in Vancouver.
Alison’s approach to dog training unlike a lot of other approaches, is so gentle and positive and the results we have seen with our golden have been like magic.
Watching her work with our dog, she quickly gained her love and respect and with Alison's patience and skill, we watched our girl become a more confident and happy dog. Her classes taught us how best to work with our dog using only positive reinforcement. (Alison only used positive reinforcement with us too, as we learned)! It is clear that Alison has both a love and a passion for dogs and we feel blessed to have her in all of our lives. We are really looking forwards to introducing our dog to Alison's upcoming "Tricks" class this spring.
Lisa and Dog Day’s are amazing! We welcomed a rescue from Taiwan, Poppy, almost two years ago and it wasn’t until we found Lisa that we really started to learn the most important lessons about how to listen to and interact with our dog. We saw amazing improvements after having Poppy attend day care with Lisa and things have only continued to improve more and more after going to her Baby Brats class and having twice-weekly PTE (Play, Train and Entertain) sessions. We attribute so much of who our lovely dog Poppy is today and how consistently content she is to Lisa and all the hard work she has done. If you’re even thinking about maybe reaching out to Lisa for help of any kind, do it! Thank you Lisa!
We used to have to chase my dog down to get into the car for a car ride. It could take minutes to get him to settle down. It wasn't that he didn't want to go. He just had the case of the sillies everytime it was time to get into the car. As well, this fussy old pom wouldn't listen to me, and would do the "sit-stay" thing - on his terms only. It's hard to be ruled by a 9 pound furball. The classes ended up changing him a lot! (Or was it me) Now we play the "sit - stay - down - heal" game and he's quite eager. I'd thoroughly recommend Canine College. I really appreciate the way that the leader breaks up the class in dog size (small and large) because my little guy is quite afraid of large dogs. It's really helped a lot. Now, instead of chasing him around the yard to get in the car, I just give him the hand movement for "SIT" and pick him up. Done deal! That alone is worth the price, but we've learned a lot more than that! Thanks Canine College :)
Love this place! it has all it needs to take care of our beloved 4 legs friends, love, education and fun, they feel just like home but with lots of other 4 and 2 legs friends to play with and also great service and friendly people for proud parents. It is wooffnderful! ♡
I did Nosework and training with Janet! I did the nosework class with our goofy and high-energy Basset mix Clyde. It was a blast watching him figure it out.
When we got a new puppy, who was a little a couple months too old for the puppy class, we took her to Janet's training class along with our dog Clyde. Even though Clyde had been through basic obedience before, Clyde's very excitable and I was interested in this class because there was a "distractions" component which was perfect for him.
It was beneficial taking them both to the same class (each with their own handler of course) because it also taught them that they can be together without playing together.
Jennifer was a great help from the very first call and meeting with our pup. I appreciate her honesty and confidence she tries to instill owners with, who have pushy and reactive dogs like ours. We had a one on one with her first, then a basic obedience class and started him on rally obedience (which he loved!). You will see results with her training, I would highly recommend her for dog training. She obviously likes what she does . Thank you Jennifer! We will see you again.
Blu, the naughty 5 part mutt, loves Yoko and her classes. He is putty in her hands and has learned how to get his owner to do exactly what she is supposed to do, so that he does as he is told. That is, Yoko has taught Blu's owner how to communicate with him so that he understands. Louie is a King Charles Spaniel/ beagle mixture and, although pretty obedient, has learned that he can do way more than he thought. He is now well behaved and has increased the size of his brain immensely under Yoko's tutelage. Yoko is a wonderful trainer; she LOVES dogs and is absolutely respectful of both them and their owners. She meets you where you and your dogs are and then gradually teaches you ~both to enhance your human-canine relationship and provide the knowledge for you and your dogs to understand each other and your mutual needs. She laughs easily, makes you fall in love with your dogs and provides lots of homework. I really enjoy playing with my dogs as we seriously learn from Yoko.
I have used Shelley for private, level 1 and level 2 and would highly recommend Shelley. We used other services and did not have results. As soon as Shelly came in we had results immediately. Shelley is up front and honest in helping you become a better dog parent. If you want results Shelley is the person I would recommend. Steve and snowy
Our family is very pleased with the results we got from enrolling our pug Penni in puppy kindergarten. Marjanna was an excellent teacher and educated the family in parallel to educating our pup. For anyone who wants to see results in a short period should take their dog to Middle Earth Canine Academy. Penni thoroughly enjoyed herself and will certainly be back to take the next step in basic obedience.
Doug and Sophia!
Amber has been a great help with our 2 rescue doggies that came with some behavioral issues. We had trouble with both dogs messing in the house and also one of our dogs barked incessantly at other dogs on our walks. I since have learned Jonesy's barking is fear based - she taught me how to handle him and it has made a huge difference. She also guided me on how to better house train both dogs. I would highly recommend Amber!! AND she's very calm and gentle with our dogs - she is truly the "dog Whisperer" - I told her she should have her own show!!
Our dog has been hiking with Adventure Dog for a year now, and it has been such an overwhelmingly positive experience for her and for us. The team is so caring and amazing, and have gone above and beyond to work with our Poppy and her rescue dog quirks. She's a totally different dog because of Adventure Dog, and I would not hesitate to recommend their service to anyone.
Could not ask for more. Our sweet pup had a blast on her overnight stay. Photos and videos were sent regularly so we didn't miss her as much and she came home pooped from all the hiking!!! So glad we have somewhere safe and freaking awesome for her to stay when we go away
Thanks to all baby dog trainers Aviva, Emma, Ruth and Dave and the volunteers who helped them run the puppy socialization!! My dog Bosque and I had a great experience, learning about dogs social behaviours and positive puppy play. The basic and intermediate courses that was run by Emma and Ruth really helped Bosque and I learn. It was also a fun engaging so much with my dog, learning a lot from each other. Now that Bosque is 8months, we'll continue going to the pack walks!!
