Inner Strength Counselling and Wellness

NEW: Now offering EMDR therapy for trauma processing! What is EMDR? One way to address trauma is by using a specific eye movement technique known as EMDR. The aim of EMDR is to facilitate healing from distressing life experiences. Although EMDR is a relatively new therapy method, it has been subject to numerous clinical trials since its inception in 1989, which have demonstrated its effectiveness in helping individuals overcome trauma more quickly than other techniques. As a Canadian Certified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I use evidence-based practices to create personalized treatment plans for my clients that align with their concerns and goals. I believe in building a strong therapeutic rapport with my clients and assisting them in discovering their strengths. My aim is to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for my clients as they navigate their journey toward recovery. I remain up-to-date with current mental health trends and modalities to ensure that I provide the best possible treatment plan for various mental health concerns. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationships, families, grief/loss, self-esteem, self-confidence, anger management, stress, abuse, phobias, behavioural issues, and addiction. I work from a trauma-informed lens and focus on the biopsychosocial model, which considers biology, psychology, and environmental factors that contribute to mental health concerns. I use various counseling modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychoanalytical Therapy, Humanistic Approaches, Strength-Based Approaches, Positive Psychology, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy to promote healing and growth. My expertise in Attachment Theory helps me assist clients with behavioural issues and concerns. I work with individuals, couples, families, and youth, and offer both virtual and in-person appointments. If you're interested in learning more about my services and experience, I offer a 15-minute free phone call consultation. Contact me today to book your consultation! I do direct billing to Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada and RBC insurance.

What do you love most about your job?

The thing that I love most about my job is that I can help support people through their hardest times. I have experienced PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and with the support of a mental health therapist, I could freely express my thoughts and emotions without judgment. I strive to provide this setting for my clients and ensure that they are receiving the best care possible. I love helping people and it has become a great passion of mine to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to open up and have support with their mental health concerns.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I decided to open my private practice in order to offer more comprehensive resources and support for my clients. By incorporating my passion for both fitness and mental health into my care plans, I am able to provide a unique and holistic approach to healthcare that I couldn't find elsewhere.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I offer convenient online or remote services to cater to those who prefer to stay at home or require such services. Regardless of whether you opt for virtual or in-person meetings, rest assured that your needs will be attended to with care and support.
