Parenting can leave us feeling more vulnerable, anxious, sad, angry or alone than we’ve ever been before. It can create extra stress in our relationships or bring up old feelings from our own families of origin. I love working with moms so they can feel better, in themselves and in their relationships, and work towards understanding and being the kind of parent they want to be. I often work with: postpartum anxiety, depression and rage; work/life balance; feelings of failure; identity as a mother; adjusting to parenthood, relationship struggles; creating healthy attachment; pregnancy and infant loss and a range of other concerns. I'm an experienced therapist with specialized training in maternal mental health and couples counselling. I work to create a trusting relationship where you can feel safe to share your deepest concerns. Together, we can explore what's bothering you and take steps towards feeling better and creating the kind of life you'd like to have. If you’re looking for a non-judgmental person to share your concerns with who will not only listen deeply to you but work with you to take practical steps that create lasting change, please get in touch. I offer a free 15-20 minute phone or video call so you can see if I feel like the right fit for you

What do you love most about your job?

I love connecting with others and seeing self compassion and awareness grow as people uncover their own inner wisdom and strengths.
I also love laughing with my clients. Finding the humour in our difficulties somehow makes life more manageable.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've been a counsellor for many years but was inspired to start my own business when I experienced a very difficult period of postpartum depression and anxiety. It was hard to find knowledgeable help where I was living and, once I recovered, I knew I wanted to make these experiences less difficult for others. I wanted people to know sooner that they are not alone in their experience and that they can and will get better.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm experienced, compassionate and down to earth with a good sense of humour. While I have expertise in guiding people through a process of self discovery, I recognize you as the expert in your own life. This quote from Pema Chodron captures my feelings toward the therapist-client relationship
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”
