My boyfriend and I have struggled for years trying to understand one another (aka – the dreaded “we don’t communicate” well). He insists he listens well (his grandmother says “you have 2 ears and only 1 mouth”) yet I don’t feel heard. We are months aways from celebrating our 10-year anniversary and I thought a valuable gift to each other would be seeking professional help to navigate and strengthen our communication for a healthier and happier future together. We took our time to really evaluate the options available to us and it was John’s communication coaching program that really caught our attention because it wasn’t about “sitting on a couch and hashing out old hurts” but really centered on providing us the skills we needed to properly converse. As I understood it, he would teach us how to listen, ask the right questions, understand the needs and work together to deliver on them and while it could sound quite basic, it is amazing how many people lack these “simple skills”, especially during emotionally charged moments. I had high hopes for this program, and I can say that my expectations have been surpassed. We are 3 sessions in, and I feel we have learned more together in those sessions than we have in the past 9 years+ of our relationship. The program’s core design and Coach John’s adept, sensitive approach resonates with my values. I am a solution focused individual and I feel so empowered in our ability to be the best partners for one another. I am hopeful and excited for what is to come and thankful for the value Coach John brings Ken and I.

We have just started and so it may be a little early for a review, but so far so good. Feeling very comfortable to talk about issues with John. I think we have found a good fit in a counsellor for our relationship counselling.

Couple's Coach John is absolutely phenomenal to work with. I highly recommend him for many reasons. First, he is a very genuine person; helpful and easy to work with. We had many epiphanies in working with him. He helped us try many strategies that were easy to learn and build into our daily lives. Also, he is great at identifying and breaking down issues that make you feel like you are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but he helps you see you actually have similar needs and wants that can be worked through. We tried many counsellors and coaches prior to John, but none helped as much as John has. Many took sides, didn't help us with goals or strategies, or didn't understand non violent communication or how to understand needs and wants in relationship. In conclusion, John is supportive, always positive, has helped us create great strategies for success, and has helped us learn to communicate, and given us renewed hope for our relationship. Thanks John!
