Founded in 2018 Butter is a documentary and factual production company established to create original docs & content. We invest in idea generators - a diverse and inclusive group of people with their own passion projects; or newcomers to media who want to turn the driving force of their lives into factual entertainment for the world.   And we invest in ideas that inform opinions, because we believe in the power of great storytelling, to change the world.

Our people have decades of impassioned experience as developers, producers, directors and editors, creating content for broadcast and digital platforms. This experience and passion is the key to our ability to turn great ideas into visual stories.


Our mission is to help audiences form their own opinions about the frontiers of science, technology, conservation, popular-culture, travel and historical events that continue to impact us today.
