My son recently started tutoring with Albany Tutoring and we are very happy with the service we are receiving. Craig is very knowledgeable and made sure he understood my son's needs before commencement. He was very patient and helpful in explaining the administrative side of things and has worked tirelessly to ensure all our needs were met. The tutor Kale, is very relaxed and makes students feel comfortable and at ease. I receive weekly session summaries which are very helpful and informative. My son really loves going to his weekly session because Kale explains things in a way that is comprehensive and gives my son tools he can use in class! My Granddaughter recently started going to tutoring, at first she was hesitant but she started feeling a bit better about going. She's told me that while they tutor her on each subject (Math and English) they also help her develop skills she hadn't used or thought of before. She's been helped with making a study timetable that doesn't over work her nor underwork her and she's also learning how to help herself with stress through these tutor's advice. I'm very pleased with the results so far she has already started achieving better and she has much more motivation for school even through difficulties. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the learning lightbulb moments. Taking a student that has struggled in a subject and turning that around into enthusiasm for school, learning and future adulthood.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a classroom Math and English High School Teacher, it upset me to see many students that were not being served well by the mainstream learning environment. As a response, I formed my tutoring company in 2020, which is staffed only by qualified Teachers, pre-service Teachers and Education Assistants.
