South Africa

‘20 Certificate of Excellence

Bright House Solutions’ main focus has always been website development and for the past 13 years we have been perfecting our skills. We have defined key website design and development principles such as user friendly, interactive, harmonious content and picture layout and carefully integrating your company's corporate image, focus on your colour schemes, designs, logo, slogan and words used. We create visual statements about your company that communicates its business philosophy. Here at BHS we can tailor any of our website solutions to suite your needs. Should you require massive website catalogues with a gargantuan product offering - we can assist you with cost effective solutions. Should you require an e-commerce website giving browsers the ability to add products to a shopping cart and then purchasing their selected goods, we can assist. We can also tailor an e-commerce shopping cart, giving browsers the option to select different products, and then instead of purchasing the selected products, they simply request a quote on items selected. And of course we build less complex websites, giving browsers sufficient quality content and a user friendly experience drawing them closer to your organisation. After a great website is built, the world or simply South Africa needs to find your company. One of the best ways to drive traffic to your website is through a cost effective Addword campaign. Paying or bidding for specific keywords and phrases to target specific traffic to your website is a no brainer in terms of potential success and within BHS, your success is our priority. We do however like to leave Addword campaigns as a secondary option. After having exhausted all natural search engine optimization techniques, such as keyword meta tags, title tags, alt tags, and sufficient quality content, only then do we look at Addword campaigns. It can take Google 30 to 90 days to index a new website, so it would be advisable to use Addwords in this initial period while your natural website's SEO picks up speed. One of Bright House Solutions new found passions is to assist companies in streamlining any work or administrative process they may have by helping companies manage tasks and client relations . We can design and tailor make a wide variety of software programs your company may need for Project Management, Stock Control, Invoicing, Billing asset Management, Reporting, Digital dashboards, and much, much more. BHS can help you create marketing, sales, explanatory and training videos, dynamic charts and infographics. We will match your message to the correct style, look and feel. We focus on 2D & 3D animation specialising in character animation, infomercials, simulations, architectural visualization and compositing. Tell us your need, and let’s get together to see how we can fill that need for you.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

We like to ask potential customers which of the reasons below apply to them. This helps us ascertain what they need from their websites.

Reasons why your business needs a professional website:

1.) Can save you Money in more than one way.
It can help you automate some of your processes. Like when you have to
continuously email customers a business profile when you can simply refer them
to your website which will save you or your staff time and therefore saving you money.
It’s one of the most cost effective forms of marketing out there. There is a
reasonably small setup cost and then just a very small monthly hosting and
maintenance cost.

2.) It’s a really simple and cost effective way to keep customers informed
about new products and information. Simply update your website with new products
and news and send out an email inviting your customers to take a look. There are
zero adverts and printing costs and it’s much easier to update than a final
printed product.

3.) Your website works for you 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
When you go home at the end of the day, and your staff shuts down all of their
PC’s your website is still running. And will continue working for you for the
rest of the day. If one of your existing clients is working late and needs some
information on a product, service or technical manual, they can simply grab it
from your website. Or a new client comes across your website while surfing
the internet at home for one of your products you are selling. If done
correctly, a website will never let you down.

4.) Can target a wider market.
Since e-commerce shopping and shopping carts have come into existence,
companies potential target markets are only limited by the reach of the
internet. And that is practically limitless. This amazing tool can give
your company the reach to target customers all over South Africa
as well as the entire world. And all from the comfort of your
home and or office.

5.) It provides a user friendly and interactive platform in which to exhibit
your products and services. Potential customers like to see what they
are buying through galleries of photos. They want to see intricate details
on services and products. And by having a professional website, you can
demonstrate exactly what puts your company ahead of the competition.

6.) It will help you improve customer service.
By sharing with your customer, tips on how to successfully achieve certain
tasks, you not only add to your websites search engine optimization, but add
value to your customers experience when dealing with your company.
Say a customer has bought a pair of brake pads from your company.
Why not have a tutorial on your website explaining how to bleed your cars
brakes for example? Or if you are an architect, you could share specific
information about certain pit falls to avoid when designing a new home.

7.) Generate new business.
And last but not least, your website can be used as a tool to generate
new business for your company. By either through creating a search
engine optimized website or by setting up and maintaining a carefully
planned adword campaign, you can source new clients from the internet
using your website.

What do you love most about your job?

I know this might sounds cliche, but what gives us the most satisfaction is seeing our clients happy at the end of the day. 2nd to that, we enjoy
pushing the envelope in terms of new design and functionality ideas.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I initially worked for a website company for a few years never being completely happy with how things were run. The company gave poor SEO for clients websites and poor customer service. So when the company moved to Cape Town I could either find another job or Start my own company
and do things right. I have not looked back since.

Why should our clients choose you?

Our company philosophy says it all i think:

– We present solutions that are unique and tailor made ensuring our clients’ needs are met.
– We always go the extra mile, delighting our clients as we deliver beyond ‘industry standard’.
– Using cutting edge technologies, we at BHS remain a step ahead of the competition.

We do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it. This is our mantra. Service in SA is lacking to say the least and we strive
to always give 100% service.

Web Design FAQs

Expand all

How much does web design cost? This is something that can be incredibly difficult to put a figure on due to the nature of the service. There are also differences based on whether you are looking to work with a freelancer or a web design agency, and also whether you need a large, complicated site or something more simple.

We can help you to connect with the right designer to suit your needs. A clear idea of what you need, and how many pages and features are required, will be influential when it comes to pricing. This will help you to get an accurate quote for web design.

These two terms may seem like they are used interchangeably but they are two different things. A designer will be focused on the visual and creating a UI to suit the user, whereas a web developer is usually focused on the actual core of the website, making it function and using coding to enable it to do what it is supposed to.

When working with a web designer, if you want the whole package of a fully finished and functioning website, check that this is something they can offer before you employ their services. Make sure you have understood if they are offering web design or development, or both.

  • Responsive - A responsive web page design means that the site is viewable on a number of devices. The design automatically sizes to the screen and the designer doesn’t need to make formats for different devices and desktops.

  • Liquid or Fluid - This is a style of design that will shrink or stretch to the shape of the browser, and the page will look enlarged or shrunk, rather than items being rearranged. The size of the items in the design alter in relation to one another depending on the browser being used.

  • Fixed design - Fixed pages do not alter according to the browser automatically. On some devices such as tablets this can make it harder to see the content as you need to scroll around the page or pinch the screen in order to zoom in on sections. Though it is sometimes essential, fixed design is becoming less common.

Whether you are working with a freelancer or a big agency, they will have a portfolio for you to view. This allows you to see other, similar projects they have worked on and decide if they have the skills you need.

There are a number of web design certifications and they may be happy to share any they have attained, but there isn’t one standardized industry body.

If you are worried about a designer’s credentials you can also check their feedback from other clients, which you can view on their Bark profile.

Should you work with a freelancer or an agency? This is one of the decisions you need to make when looking to plan a web design project.

Working with a freelance Web Designer
This may be an option that can save you money. Freelancers are often able to charge less as they don’t have the same overheads as an agency.

Working with a Web Design agency
Web design agencies may have a bigger set of skills to draw upon than a freelancer as they will usually have a number of staff and designers working for them. They may also be able to show you a bigger portfolio, but you can expect to pay more when using an agency.

Definitely! One of the advantages of hiring a web designer is that they are able to provide services to their clients from any location. However, if your website is for a local audience, then you might want to hire someone nearby rather than further afield, so that they better understand your target market.
