Research, research, research! There are so many businesses starting out or trying to keep up with trends. My creative process always starts with research and getting to know more about your industry. Once I have had a look at your potential competition, that's when my mind starts the brainstorming on how I can help you get ahead.

What information do you need from a client before you can start work?

With regards to logo and branding, I will send you a questionnaire with a bunch of questions that you will need to answer for me to start gathering information, as well as seeing your ideas, likes and dislikes. That way, we can meet in the middle.

What do you love most about your job?

I love being creative. I love taking an idea and making it real. I love brainstorming and scratching down on a notepad until something just clicks. I love learning new techniques in my craft.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I lived at sea and travelled around the world for many years. I loved it and I couldn't imagine not being on the open water. But, at the same time I was missing out on my family. So I decided to make the (scary) trek back to land! It was terribly hard adjusting to a new lifestyle. I started a job in a finance company and I hated it. The life was draining out of me and I felt like I had made a terrible decision. Then my Mum, who is a designer and desktop publisher told me to come in and sit with her in the evenings and see if I like what she does. I instantly found my calling!
So I saved up some pennies in the bank and made the decision to give notice and go out on my own. It wasn't easy and owning your own business will never be a breeze. But, I am happy, I am content, I am sleep deprived at times and I want to CTRL Z things in life when they aren't right!
We have one life, why not make it a happy one.
