Counselling is a form of talk therapy. An easy way to get your head around counselling is to think of it as a space to work on your ‘inner’ world. counselling provides you with a confidential and judgement free zone to be able to talk about whatever might be going on for you at the moment.

It is a space to unpack and process heavy emotions, to receive validation around your experience, to gain understanding and insight around your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and be in a safe space to have an emotional release.

It’s also a space to develop your emotional tool box by learning healthy coping strategies and boundaries, working on communication skills, challenging negative thoughts and beliefs, practicing acceptance around things out of your control, learning how to calm your nervous system down and developing a healthier relationship to Self.

Therapies used in this space are:

~ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
~ Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
~ Solution Focused Therapy
~ Narrative Therapy
~ Mindfulness

Case management is a holistic, hands on approach to supporting clients. Think of it as a space to work on your ‘outer’ world. At Your Wellbeing, I believe that you are a product of your environment, if your ‘outer’ world is chaos, your ‘inner’ world will most likely feel the same.

Case management is a more directive and structured approach to therapy. It involves goal setting and has a focus on your desired outcomes while receiving guidance and advocacy. It is a space where you can organise your life, reflect over your weaknesses and utilise your strengths. It’s a space to question what isn’t working in your life and together, pave the way to a more balanced, joyful and harmonious life.

Some ways you can be supported during case management sessions include:

~ guide you through the process of getting a Government support payment

~ assist you in finding safe housing

~ link you in with other services and practitioners you might need extra support from eg. A nutritionist or specialist

~ equip you with job skills and assist with resume writing, applying for jobs and interview skills

~ support you in new study ventures

~ assist you with getting linked in with Government funded business start ups

~ guide & support you in finding different ways in managing chronic illness/pain

~ support you in creating daily routines and rituals and making healthy lifestyle changes

~ help you organise your life and get you to where you want to be

~ and more

Walk & Talk Therapy is a counselling session that incorporates life’s simple pleasures: movement, sunshine, nature & fresh air.

Some individuals can experience anxiety sitting in a therapy room and having face to face discussion around their traumas and adversities. This can sometimes be enough to not seek support due to the daunting feelings that may arise when considering traditional therapy. Walk & Talks provide a casual approach to therapy.

Who are Walk & Talks suited to?

~ people wanting a casual approach to therapy
~ people who experience anxiety in a ‘clinical’ setting
~ people who like to be active or are wanting to become more active
~ people who enjoy spending time outdoors or wanting to do so more often
~ people who want an alternative method to traditional therapy
~ people who become blocked, overwhelmed and shut down in a therapy space
~ people who like a more social setting
~ people who walk around their houses while having long chats on their phones
