Q&As

Building an inclusive community. Putting a smile on people's faces and knowing that I helped someone live their best life

I have worked as a career for over 7 years, what got me into it is that my mum and Dad are nurses and i got my first job in a nursing home. I fell in love with knowing that I put a smile on someone's face and helped make someone's life get better. Over time I didn't agree with how other providers provided their services so I decided to partner with people that have the same vision of supporting participants in a way they prefer, putting our client's needs at the forefront. Please read our mission statement and vision on our website

PCG Is a provider that ensures that our clients are supported and helped in the way they prefer and appreciate, we put our clients’ needs at the forefront. We aim to create an inclusive place built on trust, equality and respect, where people with a disability live the life, they choose.

We can provide services online as we have done during covid times when other participants needed someone to talk to so we did zoom video calls and hangout with participants and provided that emotional support as well.

We are working on expanding our services so we reach remote areas in Australia

Making sure all our staff get tested if they feel unwell and encouraging staff to take time off if they are unwell. We have our safe guarding policies and procedures regarding covid that our staff follow

Services

The carers that we introduce can provide the support and security to enable you to continue living in your own home without the need and upheaval of moving to a residential home. With the support of our carers, you can retain your lifestyle, independence in your treasured home among the surroundings, people and belongings you know and love.

Our care also assists people who are struggling to help look after their disabled or ageing relatives or loved ones. Our carers gives the comfort and reassurance that an experienced carer is looking after your loved one, providing companionship and ensuring they are secure in their own home 24 hours a day.

It is reassuring to know that with the on-going support and companionship of our carers, your loved ones will feel less isolated and vulnerable. Studies have shown that this can also ultimately help improve their mental and physical health.

We understand how important it is to connect with the community, whether that be leisure and recreation or attending appointments is an important aspect of quality of life for everyone, and many individuals with a disability find that getting out and about in the community, especially alone can be difficult. Our specially trained team members will do everything possible to provide the best experiences and care to all participants.

The goals and outcomes of our services will be different for each participant on an individual level, but overall, it is to provide access to community services and activities that help to enhance a person’s life, social opportunities and to develop skills and competencies to help make an individual more independent.

Our Social and community participation can include goal-based activities specific to each person, providing them with support and engagement in the community to undertake recreational activities and attend community events in the local area. Our support workers can take you to many types of recreational activities, social events or any other places you wish to go.

At Pristine Care Group, we’re working to partner with a number of housing developers to create accessible SDA opportunities within larger, mainstream residential developments, helping to connect people to their communities.

We are currently working on providing concierge care services to a number of developments in Brisbane and Gold coast area, affording more people with complex support needs the opportunity to live independently, and realise their potential.

Concierge Support runs separately and complimentary to your Individual Support services, giving you even more choice and control over who provides your in-home supports. However, at Pristine Care, we are on hand to provide in-home supports as well as Concierge Support, if you choose.

We recognise that palliative and end of life care is not just about providing care in the last months of a person’s life, but about ensuring good quality of life for both patients and families at every stage of the illness process from diagnosis through treatment and onwards.

Our cares support people of all ages who are suffering with life-threatening conditions or illnesses. When a condition is terminal, most of us wish, when able, to remain living in the comfort of our own homes. This is made much easier with the support of dedicated carers at most stages of illness, from symptoms to diagnosis, through treatment or cure and in some cases, death and bereavement.
Principally, palliative care aims to help provide the best quality of life for you, and your loved ones. People suffering life threatening conditions will often find those closest to them may have strong emotions about your condition and it is often becomes difficult in these situations to discuss your feelings for fear of upsetting them further. However, our carers can help you by relieving the burden placed on you and your loved ones and also help discuss and come to terms with everyone’s feelings at this difficult time. In addition, carers can provide support through periods of bereavement.

You may already be at home, or about to return home from a specialist care centre or a hospital, are feeling run-down, poorly, or have had some kind of accident or change in your life. Some people will only need a little support, others a great deal. That’s where we step in we can help you get back on your feet, or provide on-going support for you as long as you want or need it.

We understand that an illness or injury can be life-changing to a person’s mind, body and spirit. For this reason, we believe home based, care gives the individual the support and comfort in what is often the best healing environment. This type of care at home gives you the chance to rehabilitate, recharge and recommit to living the best quality of life in a careful and safe way with 24-hour support at your side.

Our carer can assist your rehabilitation, living adaptations or provide support to help you with self-management of your condition and, where possible, for treatment to take place at home. Our carers can monitor your health and help recognise early symptoms or signs of recurrence of ill health as well as helping you avoid injury and resulting future hospital re-admissions.

Pristine Care helps support people with physical disabilities to live safely and independently in their own homes. Obviously, those with physical disabilities often experience major issues with everyday life activities including their mobility, their ability to self-help, and general independence. Our carers enables individuals to take part in regular social or therapeutic activities and events that they might otherwise be unable to access.

We provide a range of short or long-term support for people with a variety of needs including Motor Neurone disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s disease and Huntingdon’s Chorea, Down’s Syndrome and Autism.

Our carers can assist clients with learning disabilities who may need careful preparation and assistance with hospital appointments or admissions and require opportunities to familiarise themselves with places and procedures such as hospitals or specialised service providers or appointments with doctors.

In addition to ordinary health care needs, people with learning disabilities may have much greater special health care needs than the general population and these can be closely monitored and supported by a team of dedicated live-in carers who each get to know the client on a one-to-one basis.

We will assist in day to day living, from personal care, domestic assistance, appointment, medication, community access and any tailored need of the client

We realise that someone with dementia presents a range of practical issues that can differ from others faced by carers. People with dementia often feel vulnerable as their condition progresses and they increasingly rely on other people to do things for them. A regular carer will reassure and support them while helping them retain some level of independence and also make them feel more secure by creating a regular daily routine in a relaxed environment where they’re encouraged and not criticised.

By remaining at home with a carer, a person with dementia can also be reassured by being in an environment they know and in close contact with familiar things and surrounded by family, friends and pets. It’s easy to feel isolated and alone if you have dementia; keeping in contact with other people is good for those with dementia because it helps to keep them active and stimulated.

The carer will ensure that the person they look after eats healthily and gets regular exercise. It’s vital that someone with dementia stays fit and healthy to maintain a better quality of life. Carers will help the client with incontinence issues that are common for people with dementia to experience. People with dementia can become anxious about certain aspects of personal hygiene and may need the carer to help them with personal care.
