wow.. what can I say... I paid $45 for a barramundi with soggy skin, no dressing on the fennel salad (which was a supermarket mix) which had no discernible fennel and no seasoning. When I complained I got little reaction and was then expected to pay for extra bread for the entree. The fish should have been taken off the bill. We had 3 rib eyes and all had varied and different amounts of vegies on the plate. Had to ask for water. Absolutely awful. Do.not.eat. Here. The food is terrible. My husband had the half chicken… dry. Extremely dry… after a few mouthfuls he didn’t bother. I had the duck pasta… it was revolting, food poisoning in a bowl… the meat smelt funny, it was sitting in watery oil and the vegetables were not even cooked or made sense with the dish… Kids bolognaise is just tomatoes blitzed. Thankfully we asked for sauce on side so they were able to eat there meals. It’s overpriced for what you get. If you are expecting high end… this is not your place. More...

Had lunch on Saturday, Maddie was a superstar! It was rather busy and she was rushed off her feet, but kept her professional manner and service 10/10. Preharps the other woman with the long blonde hair could take some pointers and show engagement in her job, and some genuine customer service. The worst service I have experienced - down from Deniliquin for the weekend and this place has left a sour taste - the gaming was noisy and gaming/Barman was moody and took up to ten minutes for a drink. Would not recommend.

on 31 July 2021 we tried to stay at Craig's Royal Hotel, my lovely husband booked ones night accomdation and a meal in their restaurant as a surprise for my birthday, but unfortunately we had several small visitors in our room who were not invited. several crockroaches and two were found in our bed. The main dining room is shut. No one bothered to tell us before checking in and it was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here in the first place. Staff are not particularly pleasant and not particularly helpful. I understand this is a regional area so service levels will not be of a capital city level but I’m not happy and simply won’t book again. Another couple were overheard to be complaining the standard isn’t what it once was and the blo#%dy poker machines can be heard from all corners of the hotel. Seriously; the type of clientele to which this hotel appeals have no interest in poker machines. GET RID OF THEM! No one wants to watch granny put her whole pension into them at 9am on their way to breakfast. More...

What a beautiful place to stay! A lot of thought has gone into the restoration of this majestic old building. We purchased the Lockdown Package and our stay couldn’t have been any better. From the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the quality of the food, this place ticks all the boxes. Central to everything Ballarat has to offer! Four of us spent the weekend at your hotel, where we were impressed with our rooms and the attention of all staff we encountered.
