If you are looking for a true journey and retreat to reconnect with mind, body and soul; look no further then Shunyata. Every morning I was greeted with a cup of lavender Earl Grey tea and a beautiful fragrant rose picked from the garden. Paru not only nurtured my soul, but nourished my belly with fresh and healthy food. She’s an amazing cook! Everything on my 3-day retreat was rooted with intention and love. Through her decades of experience, training and healing, Paru guided me through 3 days of a beautiful Emotional Healing retreat. I added few extra activities (the aromatouch deep therapy and ayurvedic consult) which I highly recommend as they elevated my experience and kept my afternoons engaged. If i had more time, I would have added the Akaroa excursion with Paru! I left with my heart feeling open, my mind feeling rested and my soul feeling invigorated. More...

I have been doing emotional work for a year now and I felt totally safe diving deep into my unconscious with Paru. What do you love most about your job?
Getting to the core of the main block beyond the mind, the core wound in the enneagram and then dealing with the cellular memory that put this block in place - the soul & the body speak truth. Also helping people find their highest self. Everyone is unique, it works, it works it works and with a little courage and take their power back with clarity and purpose. We work together and empowerment is the best therapy you can ever do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I had my wake up call in Byron 30 years ago I wanted a place to come and deal with the shutdown and the pain I was going through ,so after continuing on my Journey & bringing Brandon Bays to NZ, I can say that people truly trust me and have deepened the work at Shunyata in the last 17 years and would say it is cutting edge.

Have been doing retreats and ultimate healing days which I prefer near Christchurch but will be doing this work on the road in January/February 2022 - travelling north -where I come to you. While here in Christchurch you will never find such a beautiful place to heal check out the views

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have an ozone sauna here for immune boosting, pure essential oils to get rid of viruses and the house is cleaned with onguard essential oil - very strong for viruses, and the difuser is going also. I have all therapies that are natural and powerful like hydrogen peroxide, ozone & oils.
The Journey Method/with the Enneagram
The enneagram is like the ego or patterns of unconcious behaviour that run us but we are not aware of - so combining this with The Journey Method which is a guided meditation (likened to Hypnosis) taking us back to uncover a block or issue that is affecting us today. It works beyond the mind, through the body to the soul and addresses emotions in a dropthrough, a memory (usually from childhood) and a forgiveness process around a campfire - 30 years doing this work I promise you it is powerful and really gets to the core equal to a year of counselling - come for an Ultimate Healing Day or 3 day retreat
