I offer DBT: (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) which is skills based learning for managing overwhelming feelings and thoughts. The therapy is suitable for all anxiety and mood based disorders, eating disorders, relationship isssues, communication and interpersonal relationships.

I recently had an appointment with Jennifer Brown (DBT Auckland).

I arrived on time for my second appointment with Jennifer. She answered the door and said “Who are you?” I told her my name, and I figured that since we’d only met once, two weeks ago, she may have forgotten. She then said “do you have an appointment?” I told her I did. I double checked our text conversation and I did have the correct date and time. She ushered me into one of the rooms and told me that she had forgotten about my appointment and had another client with her at the time. Instead of offering to reschedule, she then spent the next twenty minutes going between the room I was in and the room the other client was in, trying to do two therapy sessions at once. She asked me what I was there for, she seemed to have completely forgotten what I had talked about in our first session and she didn’t have any notes or anything. Then she asked me if I wanted to do therapy with the other client at the same time. I told her I didn’t care, she then went to ask the other client the same question and the other client wasn’t interested. The other person then left and Jennifer came back and continued our therapy session one-on-one. I was very distracted at this point due to the jarring situation I was in, and I don’t feel like my session was worth what I paid for it.

I am disappointed in myself that I didn’t leave early and refuse to pay, I think I was too shocked in the moment. I will not be going back to this therapist.
