What do you love most about your job?
Every job has its own uniqueness and character, no matter how mundane it may sound. The opportunity to help my clients who are confronted by overly-bureaucratic processes due to misinterpretation of development rules is my forte.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The opportunity to be my own boss and master of my time and place of work was compelling whilst I undertook my doctoral research at the University of Auckland. The freedom of deciding how to solve a problem and how much time is required to provide my client with a top solution free of corporate overhead and limited budgets.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have experience in a wide variety of civil engineering and traffic engineering areas. I am an avid problem-solver and enjoy the challenge of overturning council decisions when they have not applied their mind when interpreting their own rules.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I have worked remotely with most of my clients and associates since 2008 and have an array of tools to consult, and communicate with clients that are elsewhere in the world. Data collection has become easier with a camera and remote-sensing technologies that few projects require on-site presence and data collection.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Almost all my clients do not require to come into my office as we can communicate effectively using online communication tools.

He is an experienced report writer that can help a client tell the story and separate fact from the fiction.
Expert Witness
Dr Bezuidenhout is an experienced expert witness in various contexts. His specialises in Human Factors as they relate to perceptual driver errors, signage and geometric design elements, including traffic violations and crash analyses.
He has assisted developers to untangle bureaucratic red tape and overturn officials' rule-based interpretations that are applied out-of-context in declining resource consents. He has access to the vast number of journals to provide the necessary evidence of the intent and origin of the council transportation rules when they are incorrectly applied by council engineers.
Road Safety Analysis
Dr Bezuidenhout undertakes crash analyses for various applications ranging from traffic offences to assisting developers to gain resource consents for their projects.
He uses eye-tracking techniques to analyse road environments to solve driver errors and safety risks.
He is currently researching motorcycle safety and developing suitable interventions to reduce risks of collision.
Primary Research
Dr Bezuidenhout is an experienced researcher and is familiar with many different analytical methods to collect and analyse data for varied applications.
He has authored over 20 publications and conference papers.
