Alpha 1 started our renovation in July. We had a very pleasant experience, always punctual and willing to listen when we suggested changes as often happened. When these changes could not be executed they were happy to suggest alternatives. We felt that security was a big priority for Alpha which made us feel relaxed with the whole process. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Alpha 1 again. Our experience, with having them renovate our house, was probably about as good as we could’ve hoped. Paul communicated well; was transparent with bills; and coordinated all the trades well, keeping pretty tight timelines, despite the challenges of COVID. All Paul’s team, and the subtrades he works with, were experienced, knowledgeable, and easy to get on with. The building site was kept clean and professional. We were fortunate enough to come across Alpha 1 builders by word of mouth from friends who had used them for previous projects. From the outset it was a pleasure working with Paul and the team. Budgets were detailed and variations clearly set out before work proceeded. Our site is tight and the project uncovered some unwelcome surprises from previous renovations, however Paul took these in his stride and was always focussed on solutions not problems. Our interior design was very detailed and highly specced but Paul managed the team to deliver a quality outcome that we think is spectacular. We were particularly lucky to have Tom overseeing things on site throughout the project – his attention to detail was phenomenal and he was a pleasure to have around. How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
They should contact their local council or speak with an architect or draftsman that they trust and they can advise.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Speak with a builder have an onsite meeting so that the builder can check the structural integrity and weight loading in the home, there will also be the height to consider.
Again, council can advise aswell as depending on the plans/property bag.
How long have you been in business?
20 years this year, we are incredibly proud to have been successfully in business through all of the challenges that have been thrown our way. Including COVID 19, recessions and peaks and troughs. We have stayed steady and trustworthy through all of these trying times only to add more experience to our business and fantastic homes to our clients.
What guarantee does your work come with?
We offer a MB guarantee and we are responsible for 10 years for workmanship on the home. Each subtrade and product will have it's own guarantees/warranties which you will receive the information for with your property file.
What do you love most about your job?
Transforming how people live in their homes. Restoring the old so that it remains it's character and beauty but is set for modern life. Embracing what the owners fell in love with and envisaged when they bought their home with the intention of renovating/extending/adding.
What inspired you to start your own business?
To be in control of the quality and experience that home owners have and should expect.
