Moments Between

It really depends what genre I am shooting. My questions will be different for wedding, portraits, engagement, or Event Photography. Basically though, I want to know what makes you come alive in regards to what we are capturing, and what is of meaning to you in those regards. I want to know WHY you want photo's - deep deep down, not just because you "should" get them. I'll dig till I get some gold!

I have a pretty extensive list of questions, and I LOVE meeting with clients before hand.
I like feeling their vibe, and their dynamic - as themselves or in relationship to another.
I like knowing what they want to express and communicate visually.

Once we both distill just what it is they want to "say" with their photo's we come up with ideas to generate that. If a client already knows exactly what they are wanting documented (as is often the case) I still like to become as aware and involved as I can as to how I can capture what is dear to them about this experience.

Are you ok with documentary photography?
There are some people that still really just want "everybody to smile and look at the camera".
I can get a couple (2-3) of these shots, but it's just not what I do.

My favourite pictures and actually WHY I love being a photographer are all the pictures in-between, when all the chaos is going on and families are trying to orchestrate themselves to all "look at the camera and smile"! To me, there the real ones that tell the story.

Being let into others life. Cherishing universal expression, emotion, and love. I love seeing, and showing how we are all connected. There is perfection running through all our veins. I love helping people cherish what is sacred to them.

I'm not really good at a lot of things. But it does seem that I can capturing moments. It's taken a while to realize it is a gift, and also a gift to myself. Eventually as time wen't on I realized "How could I not make this a business".

Because you love your life, and you want to remember it as it was. You want photo's of real moments that happened, that generated themselves from within you. You want to remember your photoshoot as an amazing day, not a stressful occurrence. You want to get in touch with the truth of you are now, without trying to make anything happen.

I am double vaccinated, and happy to wear a mask if requested ;D.
