Alex and Levi, the project manager, coordinated the myriad details and aspects of the construction process and the inevitable issues of any project were dealt with in a timely and satisfactory manner. On time and on budget! Alex D provided a vey detailed budget and Alex R provided a 10 week schedule that guided a renovation of the first floor of our family home. Everyone that came to the house was polite, professional informative and the quality of the work was excellent! Alex R, the site manager, provided great communication along the way. Anything that came up in the process was fully explained and options were provided. We just completed a 3.5 month townhouse renovations (Kitchen, Bathrooms etc) and we were very pleased with Level One. The final product exceeded our expectations and the overall organization from the planning to the completion phase was very impressive. The budget was very detailed and they even outlined areas where we could save costs. Level One did an outstanding job on the full renovation of my 20+ year old 1 bedroom condo. Randy (Owner) and Alex (Operations Manager) were wonderful in walking me through their process and reviewing my needs and requirements in order for them to provide me with a detailed quote. They were not the lowest price but I’m a firm believer in “you get what you pay for”. With Level One I found you get the best of the best in workmanship quality, attention to detail and superior communication & service from everyone on their team.Alex (Operations Manager) did a fantastic job overseeing the renovation and scheduling it all to keep it on budget and completing it in 3.5 month (which was the original projected completion date)......that’s an amazing skill to keep the project moving even when the inevitable unforeseen hiccups occur and he’s able to make it all work.Cara Hansen was the incredible designer and invaluable in realizing the renovation concept and outcome. I loved her process of asking me to provide inspiration photos of design and products I liked; and in our meetings during the design phase she sought my input and knew when to gently push me out of my comfort zone so that we ended up with exactly what I needed. Her design was better than anything I could conceive or imagine. LevelOne has just completed a 3.5 month renovation of our home. This project was extensive as it involved a full kitchen and bathroom renovation, floors and paint in the whole home, and some structural work. We had a combi-boiler installed, radiant flooring put in, and our full lighting system changed. Every step of the way we were impressed by the attention to detail, quality, and care put in by the whole team. All of the contractors were on time, clean, and consistently went above and beyond. Our designers with Madeleine Design Group knew exactly what we wanted and offered guidance to create a design plan that we couldn’t be happier with. The plumbing team from Impetus took so much pride in their work and their construction of a truly impressive on-demand system and radiant flooring network is like a hidden work of art in our house. From cabinetry, to electrical, to painting and flooring, every team was top on the line. This whole project felt smooth and a huge thanks goes out to our project manager, Levi. Level One did a fantastic job with our house. They completed a major renovation of our character home in East Vancouver including kitchen, bathrooms, living room, bedrooms, and more. It was clear from the beginning that they were the right choice from their level of communication and organization. Alex D promptly put together estimates, timelines, and took care of all the necessary building permits and paperwork. His planning and pre-ordering of materials meant that everything ran perfectly smooth during the renovation process. Our project started as soon as possible and completed within their original time estimate – even with a few unexpected surprises.Our project manager, Alex R, expertly coordinated all the trades involved and ensured that everything was finished properly, to code, and to our liking. Level One maintains exceptional working relations with all their subcontractors which kept our project on schedule. Alex R kept us informed with regular progress updates, and he would let us know well in advance of any disturbances or interruptions of power or water – our family was living in the basement during renovations. Again, Level One’s communication was exemplary.Level One also managed to find solutions to all of our unexpected renovation surprises. For example, just before work began, our hot water heater tank failed. The new combi-boiler system was just ordered and wasn’t scheduled to be installed for weeks. Level One had Impetus Plumbing on site within hours. They removed the old gas hot water heater and installed a temporary electric hot water heater they let us borrow until our new system could be installed. Level One’s owner, Randy, personally took care of all the electrical himself. Level One did a great job for renovating our living room and kitchen.They were professional, honest, and super reactive. Always answered our questions within 24h. They kept the area clean as we were still living in the flat during the work. The type of work was pretty hard to do (taking down a wall and adding a beam , leveling the floor and do all electricity) and they did such an amazing job. We provided pictures for references and the result is stunning, exactly what we asked for and probably even better. Their designer, Cara, had great taste and knew what we were looking for.They installed our herringbone floor and it's gorgeous, no gaps at all, very well done. We have been living in our new kitchen-living room completed by Level One for 6 months now and we love it. We started looking for quotes for our renovation including removing supporting walls about one year ago. After talking to a few contractors, we weren’t sure how to choose a contractor. In the end we went with our gut. We just had a good feeling about Randy and Alex after meeting with them and with the designer they use.Level One carefully managed everything leading up to demo day so that we started exactly on the day we expected to start. We lived in our downstairs while the renovation was going on upstairs. They were very considerate of that fact and kept the upstairs as tidy as possible. As a full time working couple that is out of town often, we rarely saw the contractors on site and would return home to see the progress. Alex was excellent about communicating with us via email and responding to our questions right away. The project plan was managed perfectly. We heard numerous stories from friends about 5-6 month kitchen renos, cost overruns and unexpected surprises. This project was 3 months and finished on time and on budget. We had a small issue with the floor but it did not prevent us from moving upstairs and carrying on with our day-to-day activities. Level One fixed the problem and everything is perfect. We have just moved into our condo after an amazing renovation carried out by Level One. We chose them after being very impressed with the way they renovated our first condo 3 years ago. This condo was in a very poor state when we were first visited by Alex and Randy and they gave us several suggestions of what needed to be done. An outline budget was prepared very quickly by Alex and we accepted this. They arranged for a designer, Cara, to call and she worked through a detailed plan for the work. Alex handled the City applications very efficiently and work started just 3 months after the first visit. Unfortunately unexpected structural problems were found in the flooring which added to the work but Randy and his team were amazing - sorting everything out and obtaining expert help. The way they helped us through such a stressful time was amazing and despite the need for substantial extra unforeseen work, the completion of the renovation was only a few weeks later than originally planned. We are delighted with the quality of the work and the attention to detail of all the team. The condo is unrecognisable and is exactly what we wanted - light and bright with excellent use of the space. Level One may not be the cheapest option - but you really do get what you pay for and I doubt if any other team would have dealt so efficiently and flexibly with the unexpected problems that arose in our project. In addition we were always kept up-to-date with progress and any questions we had were answered very promptly. I hired Level One to do a full gut on my condo. As a first time home buyer I was really nervous about all those bad contractors stories.

My experience with Level One was seamless- I got a detailed quote and breakdown, they had ample knowledge of what they were doing and were very responsive and helpful. They also finished on time!!

This was without a doubt my favourite renovation I've seen simply due to the level of craftsmanship which is absolutely rare to find these days. From the moment you enter, the quality finishing and attention to detail is immediately noticeable and makes you feel right at home. During each showing, the feedback was the same from the many visitors who came out just to see this place in person. Everyone commented on the stunning chef's kitchen with fabulous built-ins making great use of the space, even including pull-out pet bowls under the custom cabinetry. When my clients ask me to recommend a contractor I have several criteria that need to be met before I’ll make a recommendation: 1) does the contractor provide a firm quote that clearly outlines all items that will be included in the contract, 2) is billing transparent and additional charges are only for items the client has agreed to in a change order, 3) are contracts honoured, 4) does the project team display respect for clients and their needs, and lastly, is there backing from a skilled team who will implement my design properly — without any budget creep? Level One Construction meets all my criteria.

In 2011, we did a partial kitchen renovation with Level One. We kept the existing cabinetry but took a space with a very small prep area and storage and added a full, new quartz countertop workspace, and storage for necessary kitchen equipment and cookbooks. Six years later, we’re still loving the results. Anyone who has seen the before/after can't believe it's the same space. Recently, after all this time (and extensive daily use) we had an issue with the sink; the screws under the sink had come loose. Randy, the owner of Level One, answered the line when I called. I sent him a few photos, and within minutes he’d set up with me to inspect and make the repair himself within 48 hours. We're now back in business. What's more, Randy didn't charge us as he said everything was under warranty. Many thanks Randy for everything! We really appreciate it. Level One did a complete renovation of a 1-bedroom downtown condo for us. Our experience with Level One was outstanding from start to end. Alex first met us at the condo and promptly established a budget for the project, which became acceptable after a few iterations. Work started as scheduled, and, amazingly, was finished on time and within 2% of the budget! Moreover, the work is of excellent quality and left nothing to be desired. I'm sure you've heard all of the horror stories from your friends who love to scare you with their have first or second hand experiences of renovations: "Take your budget and double it! ", "Take your schedule and triple it!". We heard it all when we told our friends we would be taking on a condo renovation in Vancouver. We hoped our experience would be different.

From the very start we had a good feeling about working with Levelone. Their level of professionalism was immediately apparent from our initial discussion about our project when we met them at the Vancouver Home show.

After getting quotes and interviewing several other companies it was clear that the team at Levelone had listened to our questions and concerns. They were able to help us develop a very clear understanding of the budget and schedule.

Throughout the whole process we felt like we had the full attention of our site manager. He was incredibly patient and was available to meet on site or answer questions every single time we asked.

The final product was delivered with exceptional attention to detail, on budget, and on time. Apparently unheard of in the industry. We are now happy to tell all of our friends that renovations can be done on time, on budget all with an excellent relationship with your general contractor.

The two year anniversary for our major renovation has come and gone. We’re still thrilled with how everything turned out. The two year mark was important though, in that Level One provided a two year warranty on the work performed . Just before that two year mark it was clear that a mirrored closet door was just not right; it didn’t open and close smoothly and no amount of adjusting was keeping it in place. Short story, our Level One project manager arranged for a different closet door and had it installed, all at Level One’s expense. Then, more importantly, weeks AFTER the two year mark, we noticed our quartz countertop seam had come apart. A call to our project manager resulted in the original countertop specialist arriving at our door within a couple days of our call. A few adjustments were made, the seam re-glued and everything is like new, again at no cost to us. Also, we were told not to hesitate to call if it ever happens again. This is follow-up service of a caliber we did not know existed!

Eduardo, the project manager, provides a detailed estimate which is reviewed prior to work starting, and again mid project. He has excellent design abilities and is very helpful in steering the client away from bad decisions. The workmanship on the kitchen project was done very well and small deficiencies were immediately remediated. We contracted Level One to redesign and renovate the kitchen in our 1920s house, and install new flooring on our main level. We spoke to two companies and decided on Level One after having met with Randy. Having both a designer and project manager available to us was very beneficial given the complexity of our project. Cara's layout redesign (shown in 3D renders!) was definitely something we never considered ourselves and was quite economical given our budget.

Eduardo was a fantastic project manager!! He communicated with us regularly, kept the schedule as short as possible, and gave us great suggestions throughout when decisions had to be made or issues came up. His attention to detail is outstanding! All of the team were very friendly and professional with a 'can-do' attitude.

We are absolutely in love with our new kitchen - it greatly surpassed our expectations. We have gained so much countertop and cabinet space! We would highly recommend Level One and will use them again if more renovations come up. More...

We would like to thank you VERY much for the work you have done for us. Whenever we heard our friends or colleagues talking about dealing with contractors, it was always some kind of a horror story. So we had an impression contractors were as painful as dentists!

You made it easy, hassle free and pain free - no anesthesia required! You took our fairly small project as a highest priority, were always available to answer every little question we had, fulfilled every promise and exceeded our expectations!

We made a spontaneous decision to sell our place in Vancouver as we fell in love with the house on the Island and, as a result, had to deal with very pressing timelines to hit the market when it is hot. Now our one bedroom place looks shiny, glossy and ready for its new owner. The designer staging it could not believe the difference when she saw the place!

We are amazed with and very grateful for your attitude and for taking to heart our urgent project. We can’t believe how easy it was!

We got bids from about 5 companies for the major renovations of our townhouse. Level One was about in the middle of the pack in price. What we really appreciated was that they included some very astute design suggestions, like suggesting refinishing the engineered hardwood floors, installing the 'waterfall' with the kitchen counter and the modified IKEA kitchen cabinetry for the ensuite bathroom (though some suggestions weren't as great - there really was no need for dimmer switches at every single light).
Once the project got underway, they were as quick as they could be (sometimes the city required some additional work for permits) and were very responsive to problems (which are inevitable in such a big project) as they arose.
There was also a confidence that everything was covered by a two year warranty, and they were good about correcting the minor deficiencies that existed (again inevitable). More...

Level One, together with a garden designer and patio contractor, transformed our back yard into a beautiful place for socializing and relaxation. Level One built a deck with winding stairs that connects to the new patio and a beautiful cedar pergola over the flagstone patio. They also rebuilt the outside wall of our kitchen to connect up with the new deck while reorganizing the kitchen to give us more space. They were highly professional in every way from Randy, the general manager, to the young workers who did most of the work. We would highly recommend them.
