All businesses need financial reporting. You need to know where your money is coming from and where it's going. You need someone who can alert you to oncoming problems - are you under-billing progress billings and how do you know? Are you heading for a cash flow crisis and how do you know? More importantly what can you do to head it off? A great accountant/bookkeeper is about more than just CRA compliance - a great accountant/bookkeeper is a partner who shares your interest in long term success.

I love showing business owners how to get new results out of their existing (or sometimes similarly priced) software. By looking at something in a slightly different manner, you can often achieve unexpected results.

I wanted to help business owners. There are a lot of bookkeepers out there, but all bookkeepers are not created equally. There are those that can enter invoices, bills, payments, receipts and reconcile bank accounts but they don't add value. Some owners will then go to the big 4 and pay more money in hopes of getting a better result, but I know from experience that isn't the case. Even at the big 4, your bookkeeping is only as good as the bookkeeper on the file. And because turn over is high you can't even build a working relationship with the bookkeeper on your file. This is unsatisfactory.

I wanted to do better. I wanted to be able to provide a high quality product at boutique bookkeeper rates. I wanted to employ only the highest caliber bookkeepers who, themselves, would be very capable of starting their own companies and servicing their clients well. I wanted to partner with my clients to help them grow and reach their dreams.

Bookkeepers are a dime a dozen. Some are good. Some are not so much. But what really sets me apart is my innovation and out of the box thinking.

One client, an oilfield rental services company, came to me having purchased Quickbooks Desktop. However, upon discovering that he was not stuck on this program, I convinced him to switch to Sage 50. By doing this, because of the way projects are tracked in Sage 50, I was able to use the projects module to track his rental inventory in a different manner - allowing him to see revenues, expenses, depreciation, acquisition cost, book value, repair expenditures, etc for each individual piece of equipment. This was a level of information he had never anticipated being able to track - but by knowing the accounting programs and how they work, with a little bit of creative thinking, I was able to provide near national supplier level information on a small business budget. Bookkeepers are everywhere - but the ones who can provide that unexpected added value are hard to find.

My business model is built on virtual service - I do not have an office. By choosing this model, I can focus my dollars where they really count... ensuring I spend it on hiring great well qualified staff and keeping them happy and productive. This translates to quality service for you - the client.
