More...

Daniel and the team at Reno-Ottawa remodeled my bathroom and rebuilt my 2nd storey back deck in 2023. I was very pleased with both finished products. Working with Dan and his team was always professional and I felt like I was being kept 'in the loop' throughout the entire process. More...

Two thumbs up! Very good results, project management and good public relations skills. The project was a reasonable price. I’m very satisfied with my beautiful home and experience with Reno-Ottawa. More...

How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
If the space has a solid concrete floor. If the space is accessible from inside the home.

How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
This usually requires a professional inspection to check the structural load points of a building. Is the loft suitable to handle more load? How can we make structural improvements to accommodate a loft conversion?

How long have you been in business?
We've been in business for 23 years. In the last 4 years, we've had a particular focus on 3 key types of renovations: Large/Small Home Additions (250sqft-1200sqft)
Bathroom Remodeling
Basement Remodeling
We suspect this is because these are very high value ROI types of renovations.
What guarantee does your work come with?
100% Satisfaction. We bend over backwards, especially at the last 10% of our jobs to make sure you're absolutely blown away with the end product. You can read testimonials on here and our website and see for yourself. In terms of guarantee's, Clients are protected in a variety of ways. Our business insurance is one. The consumer protection act also applies to general contractors like ourselves. Our commitment to our reputation, especially in the digital age, is a huge thing. Not that we get many calls back, but with our volume of business we're bound to have a few. The other day someone put too much force on their toilet paper holder, ripped the drywall clean off the wall. We went over an repaired it. We probably didn't have to but we did anyways. In terms of liability, you're very well protected. I could go on about the intricate details of every little liability coverage you're covered under and why, but suffice it to say that, consumers in Canada, receiving building services from a registered, bonded, and insured general contractor, carrying out work through the proper process, are very well covered and very well protected.
What do you love most about your job?
We love how every job is different. We love our people, and our clients, because everyone is different. Homes are very intimate places. After being in business so many years, we forget about it now, but it is very regular for us, to be left completely alone, in our clients $2M homes, with the keys to the castle, like it's just normal now. THAT'S TRUST. You get so used to it, but when you step back and think about it, that's real trust, and I guess that's because of who we are. We are professionals. We're professionals every step of the way. From the way we operate, to how we work, to how we dress, to how we communicate. We take pride in our work. That's just the way it is.
What inspired you to start your own business?
In this profession everyone starts out small, after a while, you make a bunch of people happy, you start seeing your work around town, you start seeing your clients pictures with their families pop up on your facebook feed and you say "hey look at that, we built that, look how much they're enjoying it". It's a great feeling. I guess after a while you want to bring that to more people, so you have to get bigger, not too big, but an operation like this requires a few more moving parts to keep everyone in the company fully employed. At the time of writing this, our salaries/jobs provide nearly full time employment to 5 of our team members, and I personally know each of their spouses and children and I feel proud to have started a business that puts food on the table and presents under the tree for 5 families. It's a nice feeling.
Why should our clients choose you?
You shouldn't. Decisions about your home shouldn't be emotional. They should be rational. Look around, meet people, and make a solid decision on who you want to trust with your project. We obviously hope that after you meet us you will choose us, but ultimately, different situations require different rational. Maybe we are the best choice in your situation, maybe someone else is. We wish you the best no matter what.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Your project will involve all kinds of remote communication. From start to finish we will likely talk every single day, or have some kind of digital communication of progress or materials logistics every single day. As mentioned before, renovation projects are very personalized, so they require constant attention to detail, and you the client are involved through the entire process.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In our industry, the most usual impact of this is our trades-people simply staying home if they are sick. Being a renovations contractor, we also have specialized equipment to quarantine off spaces of the home as this is generally part of our process of dust/home air quality mitigation to begin with.
