What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Capturing the atmosphere of a moment.
Anyone can take a photo but it's capturing the energy of that moment that's important, so when you're looking back on the memories you can remember the story that goes with it.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What do they want out of the photography?
At the end of the day what a photographer needs to do most is meet the expectations of the client and the best way to do that is know what they are wanting out of the photography. Is it to capture memories, showcase/promote something or tell a story? If the photographer knows exactly what they are trying to achieve then they can ensure they meet those expectations.
What do you love most about your job?
Getting to see the finished product from the eyes of the client! While they wait to see how the photos turned out, we wait to see what they'll do with them!
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion for photography and the potential to do it more often, by making it more than a hobby. A friend was having their 21st birthday but couldn't afford to hire a professional so they asked me instead. The feedback afterwards was great and I was even asked to do one of the attendee's birthdays as well and then another after that! This was the turning point for me to pursue photography as a business.

Photography is expensive. There's a lot involved, from the hours worked - shooting time to editing time, equipment required and the expertise; so it's understandable for there to be such a high price tag. This doesn't have to be the restricting factor though!
