Utterly Unified. A family lawyer belonging somewhere in the toilet corner of this practice had to call for help from a senior associate as he found himself a little too deep into the annals of the Federal Circuit Court kitchen. He seemed to have crawled there just like toddlers escape their cribs in firm belief no one else is aware. The decision to not do the right thing has been made, egos were flying left right and centre, gherkins safely disguised, imaginary crowns scratching the ceiling. Too busy with self-admiration using any mirror surface in their vicinity, the two were basking in the comfort of slaughtering a self-represented respondent while trying to charge the applicant close to 70k, filing a cost notice and serving the respondent with it “a moment ago” - 28 minutes prior to directions hearing. It gets better. Filed application in proceedings and case summary while being well aware the matter was on its merry way to be dismissed, just for the sake of charging their client an extra few grand. I can’t call this business - seems like some desperate cashflow faintly crying for help on its way to Mars. It realised the ticket was one-way. It gets even better. Filing documents without client instructions, providing unethical advice, breaching code of conduct on numerous occasions. It was a show, glad I didn’t run out of popcorn.
