Our daughter was across the road at Wesley College at a play and this place was convenient for us to hang out while we waited. I LOVED the look with the greenery on the walls, hanging beams, exposed brick, centre bar. We had a quiet table for 2 in a corner. Staff were great. Really enjoyed the drinks. Local to the area so thought we’d see if we could have a close place to have a few drinks. Bar staff seemed very disinterested in helping. Couldn’t answer questions about drinks so just ordered the cocktail special. It was disgusting! Don’t think we will go back. Such a shame. Looks lovely but guess you never judge a book, or bar by its cover! More...

I was lucky enough to host my 40th birthday at the Typsy Monk and it was simply the best choice I could have made! I only had a small group of about 30 people and it was perfect! Everyone that attended has continued to tell me what a great place it was, and many are planning to go back for lunch or dinner and can't stop talking about their DELICIOUS spring rolls, chicken wings, pizzas and croquettes! The venue is beautiful, cosy, has an awesome atmosphere and is bustling with happy patrons... but the FOOD omg the FOOD was INCREDIBLE! YUM! DELICIOUS! Soooo much food and absolutely amazing value. The drinks are also really reasonably priced and they even did a special price of a cocktail for us that night, which was a total hit! A HUGE thank you to the amazing staff at the Typsy Monk for all of your help organising, setting up and serving us with big smiles all night. Nothing was too much trouble. The event manager went above and beyond helping to arrange the night and was so so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the Typsy Monk for an event, or just a nice cocktail and ... the food!
