Everything! Here’s the thing. We have been lucky to stay at some lovely, stylish and upmarket hotels during our years of travel but MACq 01 has this extra edge. I think the room size and layout, the simple but grand view of the waterfront, the acknowledgment of Hobart history, quality restaurants and the lovely staff who seem one step ahead of your thoughts. MacQ1 is a simply fantastic hotel. From check in (the chap a the desk was really welcoming and friendly and even went through a person evacuation plan in case of an emergency because I am a wheelchair user) through to the beautiful room (the accessible room has all the key amenities needed by a wheelchair user) and fantastic bar with very reasonably priced food and drink. The service is faultless without being suffocating. In short, stay at this hotel!! More...

Such a beautiful place to stay in Hobart and right on the water. Just wonderful rooms are big and spacious and there was a beautiful big bath which was very relaxing after a big day of sightseeing. Definitely sitting around your stunning fireplace and having a couple of cocktails and a delicious cheese platter.

I see the service hasn't improved any and that when the bill for a couple of drinks is $19 and you give them a $20 note they think the extra dollar is a tip.... Hmmm!

Arrived for our stay and from the valet parking to the service on reception we’ve not been disappointed.
We’ve stayed in a lot of luxury hotels, however this hotel is truly beautiful and the customer service is fantastic.
We can not fault a single thing.
Dinner in the old wharf restaurant was amazing. And happily catered to my dietary requirements.
We had three courses and each course delicious, and fantastic customer service from all staff.
We’ve already discussed coming back to Hobart just so we can stay in this hotel again!
5 star all the way.. and we asked if we could check out a bit later and the lovely lady on reception extended check out for us! Nothing was to much trouble all staff very warm welcoming and super friendly! Can’t wait to visit again

I Stayed for one night upon arriving in Hobart..
Loved it so much, I booked for 3 more nights before leaving Tasmania..
Such a fabulous Hotel, I loved the story telling aspect of it, not to mention the delicious food in the Old Wharf Restaurant....
The ambiance of the hotel is stunning, and the views go on forever...
It felt like home, after a long day, ordering a GnT and relaxing around the cozy fire....
The staff were all friendly and attentive, so much so, I didn’t want to leave..
I’ll certainly be back

Nothing was too much trouble for these guys. Early check-in, Late check-out, all with the flexibility and grace you expect from a world class hotel.
