I am delighted to recommend the Tavern at Shell Cove. Every time that I am in the Illawarra I make an effort to get there to enjoy the excellent meals and the opportunity to dine, looking out over the wonderful golf course. The meal is always accompanied by friendly staff that go out of their way to provide excellent service and ensure that you enjoy the whole experience. It is an excellent venue for wining and dining. If you are in the Illawarra you would be wise to go there. You might even enjoy a round of golf! More...

Food was fresh and delicious. Perfectly cooked. Wait time was minimal despite the amount of people in the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime. Staff were happy, friendly and helpful. TERRIBLE....... our booking was for 7pm it is now 9:04pm, we received our mains at 8:52 and now our entrees at 9:05. We paid over $100 for our dinner for 3 people and it was terrible. The calamari is frozen not fresh like it used to be. We will NEVER be back...... dont waste your time and money eating there........The waitress who seemed to be in charge was just downright rude and needs training in customer service. A real let down tonight. We have eaten here many many times and have mostly had great experiences, but after tonight I don’t think we’ll be back. Yes they were busy and said there would be a wait, but to wait OVER 2 hours before even an entree came out was very frustrating with a 2 year old to feed (and that’s not even an exaggeration). 2 of our diners then received their main before their entree even came out. When my meal eventually came out and we had questioned numerous times about the wait (other tables arrived after us and were getting their meals) my meal wasn’t even put in front of me. The very rude waitress plonked it on the corner of the table 2 chairs down. My 2 year olds meal was served in chipped crockery and the quality of the food has definitely gone down. It seemed to be more frozen instead of the fresh food we’ve known and loved here in the past. A real disappointment as we were to be coming here again in a few nights. Now looking for an alternative venue after tonight’s terrible experience. More...
