Q&As

Hi, I’m Julianne.

Let me set the record straight right from the start – I’m a lawyer. I’ve worked in child protection and family law for over 10 years. That said, I’m also married, a mother of two, have a dog, and love people. Which led me to found The Separation Planner.

I did so after years of witnessing the frustrations clients felt when dealing with traditional law firms: the lack of control, high costs, confusion, delays and lack of empathy. All of which only added to the emotional turmoil they were already experiencing.

So, I set out to create an easier, less stressful way for people like you to navigate your separation or divorce. The result is The Separation Planner, an online tool that allows you to remain amicable and in control. In fact, I see it as a positive step towards your new life rather than a drawn-out process ending in bitterness.

But don’t think for a minute, that The Separation Planner means you’re cutting corners or receiving poor advice. I’m a fully qualified lawyer with Bachelor degrees in both Commerce and Law (Honours), have been admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia, and I’m a member of the Law Society and the Family Law Section. Rest assured, you are in safe hands!

Not only this, The Separation Planner provides you with the best of both worlds – excellent and empathetic advice at a very reasonable cost.

If you and your ex-partner have a fairly clear idea of how you wish to divide your property and assets, this service will allow you to correctly document that agreement in a form that can be made into formal, legally enforceable orders by the Family Court.

You complete our uniquely designed Property Division Questionnaire, and we generate all the legal documents you need. You will receive the following, all drafted by an experienced Family Lawyer:

a completed Court Application Form which sets out your current financial circumstances
a copy of Consent Orders, which sets out in legal language, the agreement you and your partner have come to regarding how you will divide your property between you
information brochures in relation to the documents and process of applying to the Court for a property settlement
Step-by-step instructions on how to finalise, execute and file the necessary documents with the Family Court.
All you need to do is file these documents with the Court and once the Court stamps the Consent Orders, your agreement will be legally binding.

$850 + GST (This does not include the $165 court filing fee)

The perfect product to assist you with reaching an agreement with your ex-partner regarding how your property should be divided between you and formalising this agreement in legally enforceable Court orders.

Once an agreement is reached, a Court Application Form and Consent Orders will be drafted and filed with the Family Court.
