Sarah Homeh

About

Sarah Homeh has her Bachelor Degree of Music with Honours (Class 1) majoring in music pedagogy from the University of New South Wales. She is a vocalist, plays the upright and electric bass, a lyricist, and a composer.

Since 2017 Sarah has performed around Sydney’s Inner West at popular venues such as Lazybones and Camelot Lounge, and for various festivals such as Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, and even venturing out to Perth for the Perth Fringe Festival. She has also undertaken work as a soloist and has performed at markets/festivals, cafes, and bars around Sydney’s city and Inner West.

As a self-employed musician Sarah has established herself as a private tutor and has been organising and implementing lesson plans for students aged 8 to 60 for the past 4 years. She has assisted students transitioning from training bands to orchestra, helped grow their confidence, and provided them with the necessary tools to become a versatile musician. As a previous music pedagogy student at UNSW Sarah is always looking for ways to expand her teaching methods. Sarah is currently teaching from her music room in Dulwich Hill.

Although primarily focused on jazz in her musical studies she also enjoys funk, soul, RnB, and the blues. These genres influence her compositional style and this can be noticeably heard in her band Monstress’ debut EP, released late 2020.
