Stayed in this hotel overnight for work travel. Place was easy to find and is close to shops/cafe/restaurants and is also near our office which is an advantage. The room I got was on the same floor as the reception area and was easy to find. First time to travel this month without body lotion thinking that this will be available in the hotel but surprisingly there’s none. This was confirmed by the reception staff. Was awoken at 12:45am by an unknown staff member in my room. Im still not sure why this guy had let himself in. He briefly said he thought the room was empty and left. Now, this really shouldn't have happened, and if it had been my wife on a business trip, I would have been seriously upset.The room was fine but there is an obvious lacking in the cleaning department. Fantastic boutique hotel! I stayed here for three weeks in July 2023. The rooms were excellent and the location was even better. The hotel is within walking distance of everything Fortitude Valley has to offer. But the highlight of the stay was the staff! Friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms but parking is a problem if you have a car. Be sure to book a parking space with the hotel a day or two before you arrive. The hotel is not far from a train station, lots of night life, and places to eat, but many of the popular tourist attractions, like the Southbank river area, are not within a comfortable walking distance. This was not an issue for us because we had a car but for those without their own transport, it may be a consideration.That said, I was very comfortable and happy with my choice to stay here, and will considerate it as my first option for the next time I am in Brisbane. My family recently stayed at the Mosaic hotel when our home flooded and we needed a safe and comfortable place which was handy to amenities. Due to the length of our impromptu staycation we were able to try a few different room types and found all to be spacious regardless of configuration. In terms of general observations - I was stunned by how squeaky clean and well appointed the rooms were. As a frequent business traveller I’ve stayed in my fair share of smaller hotels around Australia and have learned not to expect too much. Well that was not the case at Mosaic. Fresh is the word I said aloud ever day. The air is so fresh! The bedding is so fresh! The extra cuddly blankets are so fresh! The front desk and cleaning staff were also kind and helpful and I looked forward to their smiles each day. In addition to all of this - the lobby coffee at Mosaic is cafe quality and you don’t even need to go outside to get it. Plus there are some popular restaurants on the same site who offer to charge back your dining bill to your room. We stayed there for 2 nights and we’re disappointed with the whole experience. Unfriendly staff, cockroach infested room and worse when we mentioned about the cockroaches we were given a $25. - voucher which could be used anywhere as the cafe was never opened. For the price we paid I wouldn't recommend staying here. Was charge $444 for one night stay and for that price I expected so much more. There are large marks and scratches all over the walls, stains on all of the bedding and the bedding frame - felt disgusting sleeping on it, the couch in our room had a mountain of rubbish stuffed down the side of it so when you sat in the chair it would fly all over you. The lobby smells like someone has left wet clothing stuffed in a corner... you know that musky smell. The fridge in our room hadn't been wiped out for years so on one side it had something growing down it. The shower screen in the bathroom had a 5cm gap so water would fly out everywhere when you tried to have a shower. Only giving one star because the ladies at reception were nice. More...
