My primary therapeutic approach is called Intensive Short-Term Psychotherapy (ISTDP) which is a unique the of therapy only offered by two other therapists on the Sunshine Coast.

ISTDP is for anyone looking to gain a better understanding of their emotional problems and the automatic mechanisms that were learnt early in life that contribute to their problems today. This approach will help you pay attention to your internal world and your emotions, so you have more emotional flexibility and the ability to choose how you want to respond to the external situation instead of automatically reacting with anxiety, anger, avoidance, or other defences that cause you problems.

I have a special interest in working with clients who struggle with weight management and body image concerns. It saddens me to see so many people get trapped in diet culture which causes them ongoing distress and problems in their lives. I take a non-diet approach with clients to help them understand the mechanisms and psychology of eating behaviour to free them from emotional eating and self-criticism related to their body image and weight.

I can provide most of my services online or remotely via telehealth (e.g., video call).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E)
Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) – this is a deeper emotionally focused approach.

Non-diet approach to issues related to eating behaviours (e.g., binging, cravings, chronic health risk, low self-esteem, etc.).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i). This is the gold standard approach to treating insomnia. Treatment is more effective than medication in the long term.

Psychological therapy for anger related problems
