As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver in 2013. My doctor's advice was to lose weight with diet and exercise and my liver enzymes would improve and eventually return to normal. I was given a referral to an exercise physiologist and a dietician. Over the course of the next 3 years I continued to see the dietician and exercised regularly. I slowly lost approx. 20kg and kept it off. My liver got worse. I had my gall bladder out. My liver enzymes still did not return to normal. I saw a specialist. His advice, it might just be one of those things I would have for life. I should just come back every 2 years for a fibroscan (to see if there was any scarring on my liver from the damage). I had basically given up on them ever being normal. I got pregnant, got cholestasis (another liver issue), had Lincoln. My liver enzymes sky-rocketed again. I was referred back to the specialist. His advice, I should lose more weight (in addition to the previous 20kg which hadn't been regained). Frustrated to say the least, I decided to see a naturopath. I knew Melisa from SA Woman. She seemed lovely, was super approachable, and consulted out of Life Force where I have regularly seen other practitioners. We got bloods. Changed diet. Started a herbal supplement. A little over a week ago, I got my updated blood results after 8 weeks of diet alteration and supplementation. My liver enzymes were NORMAL!! For the first time in 7 years, my liver enzymes were NORMAL! After just 8 weeks, and only a couple appointments with Melisa, my liver enzymes were NORMAL! I can't thank Melisa enough. Actually, I just don't feel like there is anything I can say that would be enough… I'm pretty well speechless. THANK YOU MELISA! If you are suffering from suboptimal health, do yourself a favour and book in with Melisa! More...

Q&As

I love how I can help people achieve health and wellness with naturopathic medicine. Naturopathy is a system of medicine that treats the whole person and is integrative, so I work with your primary health professional and consider medications you are currently taking.

I was unwell many years ago with digestive issues after travelling overseas and when I returned I saw a naturopath and made diet changes which had a big impact on my health. The changes in my own health and belief in the power of natural medicine gave me the impetus to become a naturopath.

I have over 10 years clinical experience, am a lecturer at Endeavour College and withhold important to every consultation my personal values of trust, honesty, professionalism and integrity in working with clients.

Yes. I do offer zoom consultations for those that live local or remotely.

I work in two practices and they both adhere to rules, guidelines and hygiene practices to keep clients safe from infection with Covid-19.
