We had a beautiful home ceremony with Joy yesterday. it was EVERYTHING we dreamed of. Joy was exceptional and worked with us every step of the way in personalising and making our wedding ceremony as perfect as possible. Joy went above and beyond to ensure our day was amazing, with the perfect balance of professionalism and humour (which we were looking for specifically). What do you love most about your job?
This is the best job in the world. Where else can you be surrounded by love and happiness every time you go to work?
I love meeting the different couples and working with them to achieve their perfect wedding ceremony. There is nothing nicer than having a couple tell you that they loved their day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been a CFO all my professional career working with numbers and I wanted to retire from that and do something that makes me happy. This is it. Every time I get an enquiry from a new couple I am like a kid on Christmas Day. This is a hobby business that I do for love, not to get rich but I donate a percentage of every fee to Team Jenny at MS Queensland to help to find a cure for this awful disease. So it works on so many levels to make me happy.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am mature and experienced in life. I love meeting people and making them happy and without exception I have great reviews from all my clients. I have no prejudices and I think that everyone deserves to be happy. Finding your soulmate in a world of 7.8 billion people is like winning the world's biggest lottery and that needs to be celebrated in a warm, unique personalised ceremony that is just what you want. I will do everything humanly possible to do that while keeping you calm and looking after your pre wedding nerves at the same time. On the day I will be there to help you settle down, to hold your hand if you need it and to give you a hankie for those inevitable happy tears. I'll be just like your wedding mum for the day.

Not for the ceremony but definitely for the planning and preparation stages. Either through email, phone calls, messaging or virtual meetings.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I abide by the regulations and restrictions in place in Queensland at the time of our meetings and on the day of the ceremony. I also ensure that everyone present is aware of the requirements in place at the time and the venue.
I have a scan code set up for Check In Qld to simplify record keeping where there is no venue facility available.
Wedding consultancy
I am a marriage celebrant but I offer much more. While I do not offer a full wedding planning service, I work with a group of local professional service providers offering the elements to make your wedding planning stress free and your day super special. These providers offer services including photography, flowers, cake, hair and pamper treatments, makeup, DJ/MC and a choice of wedding and reception venues plus catering. I can also provide on day coordination to make sure everything runs smoothly so you get the benefits of a wedding coordinator without the significant costs and you can enjoy your wedding day.
Wedding celebrancy
I am an authorised marriage celebrant who loves working with you to develop and deliver a personalised wedding ceremony that will provide you with treasured memories to last a lifetime.
While I am primarily a celebrant I also offer wedding consultancy to guide you through the maze as you plan your perfect day. I do not offer full planning services but work with you to make your day perfect.
